FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS
Police found four human skulls -- one boiling in a pot of water -- at a man’s home in the North Side's Wicker Park neighborhood late Tuesday.

A man looking to buy a department store mannequin visited the residence of a mannequin dealer in the 2100 block of North Damen Avenue about 11 p.m. on Tuesday. During the visit, the man looking to buy a mannequin saw two human skulls on the dealer's porch and two more inside the residence -- one boiling in a pot of water, according to Shakespeare District police Lt. Perry Nigro.

"He decides to leave and call police," Nigro said. "Police got there and, sure enough, he had a couple of skulls on the front porch, one boiling and another one [inside]. They’re all human.’’

The man buys the skulls from China and then sells them as medical models. He apparently was cleaning the one inside the pot, Nigro said.

"It doesn’t appear to be anything untoward at this time," Nigro said. "As weird as it is, it doesn’t seem like anything is wrong."

The skulls were sent to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office for examination.

Grand Central Area detectives have talked to the man and continue investigating, the lieutenant said.
