Ginkgo biloba, often called the maidenhair tree, is dubbed "the living fossil." It has survived for more than 200 million years virtually unchanged, a testament to the resilience of nature. However, this tree renowned for its ancient properties has also earned a reputation throughout history as a powerful plant that boosts brain health.Writing for the Epoch Times, acupuncture physician Emma Suttie outlined the benefits of ginkgo biloba for the brain. It reportedly improves memory and overall cognitive function. Moreover, it has also been shown to help address various issues such as anxiety, depression and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. (Related: Ginkgo biloba shows potential value in the treatment of over 100 diseases.)
The potency of ginkgo biloba lies in its diverse array of phytonutrients and bioactive components. One study published April 2020 in the journal Molecules elaborated on how the plant's antioxidant compounds address damage to brain cells caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.
According to the paper, the phytochemicals in ginkgo biloba regulate the release of neutrotransmitters – chemical messengers that allow communication between neurons and other cells in the body. These neurotransmitters play crucial roles in various functions such as cognition, mood regulation and muscle movement.
In their role as "neuroexocytosis regulators," the compounds in ginkgo biloba leaves act like traffic controllers that either speed up or slow down the release of these messengers. This regulation could potentially affect brain functions, such as attention, memory and mood.

Science-backed health benefits of ginkgo biloba
Aside from the April 2020 study in Molecules, Healthline also published several noteworthy benefits of ginkgo biloba backed by science. Here are some of them.
Brain function
Ginkgo biloba has garnered attention for its purported ability to support cognitive function. Studies suggest that its antioxidant properties may help combat age-related cognitive decline and enhance concentration and memory.
Alzheimer's disease management
Research indicates that ginkgo biloba may offer therapeutic potential in Alzheimer's disease management. It is believed to improve cerebral blood flow, promote neuronal plasticity and mitigate oxidative stress, thereby aiding in the preservation of cognitive function.
In individuals experiencing cognitive impairment, such as those with Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia, ginkgo biloba supplementation has shown promise in facilitating immediate cognitive recovery. Its ability to widen blood vessels may enhance cerebral circulation, leading to improved cognitive performance.
Cognitive function
Preliminary findings from a study presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference 2024 suggest that individuals who have experienced ischemic (clot-caused) stroke may exhibit improved early recovery of cognitive function when treated with intravenous injections containing a combination of biologically active components derived from ginkgo biloba within the initial two weeks post-stroke, Science Daily reported.
Psychiatric disorders
Among the spectrum of psychiatric disorders scrutinized, dementia emerged as the subject of extensive investigation–with notable findings from the meta-analysis of eight studies indicating significant disparities between ginkgo biloba and placebo. These disparities manifested in favorable outcomes encompassing improvements in cognition and activities of daily living, underscoring the potential therapeutic efficacy of ginkgo biloba in dementia management.
In addition, available evidence has lent support to the use of ginkgo biloba in chronic schizophrenia, particularly in its capacity to ameliorate positive psychotic symptoms. While no significant impact on negative symptoms was discerned, the observed beneficial effects on positive symptoms are noteworthy.
Scientists acknowledge that the beneficial effects of ginkgo biloba on dementia and chronic schizophrenia are moderate in magnitude. However, recent clinical trials have positioned ginkgo biloba on par with donepezil, a widely prescribed pharmacological agent in dementia treatment. This equivalence potentially advocates for the inclusion of ginkgo biloba as a viable therapeutic option–especially considering the limited pharmacological alternatives available for dementia management.
It's worth mentioning that in the context of schizophrenia, ginkgo biloba is typically used as an adjunctive therapy rather than a primary intervention. Hence, even a marginal improvement could hold significant value. Notably, across all trials, ginkgo biloba exhibited an exemplary safety profile, further endorsing its candidacy as a therapeutic adjunct in psychiatric care.
Headaches and migraines
Rich in antioxidants, ginkgo biloba has been suggested to improve blood flow by neutralizing free radicals in the body and promoting vasodilation, which is the widening of blood vessels. By enhancing blood flow to the brain, it may help reduce the intensity and frequency of headaches and migraines, which can be triggered by restricted blood flow in certain regions of the brain.
Ginkgo biloba has been studied for its potential neuroprotective effects, which may help protect nerve cells in the brain from damage. Some headaches and migraines are associated with neurological factors, and ginkgo biloba's neuroprotective properties could potentially address these underlying causes.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in regulating mood and pain perception. Imbalances in serotonin levels have been implicated in migraines. Some studies suggest that ginkgo biloba may modulate serotonin levels, which could contribute to its ability to alleviate headache and migraine symptoms.
How to use ginkgo biloba
Consider the following guidelines on the best ways to take ginkgo biloba as a nutritional supplement or to achieve other therapeutic goals:
- Consult with your healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications. They can provide personalized guidance based on your individual health needs. While numerous studies suggest potential health benefits of ginkgo biloba, individual responses to ginkgo biloba can vary.
- When selecting a ginkgo biloba supplement, opt for a reputable brand that provides standardized extracts with reliable potency and purity. Look for products that have been independently tested for quality and safety.
- Follow the recommended dosage instructions provided on the supplement packaging or as advised by your healthcare provider. It's important not to exceed the recommended dosage, as excessive intake may lead to adverse effects.
- Like many herbal supplements, the effects of ginkgo biloba may take time to manifest. Be patient and consistent with your supplementation regimen, and allow sufficient time for the effects to be noticeable.
- Some people find it beneficial to take ginkgo biloba with meals to enhance absorption, while others prefer taking it on an empty stomach. Experiment with different timing options to see what works best for you.
- While ginkgo biloba is generally well-tolerated by most people, some individuals may experience side effects, such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort or headaches. Be mindful of how ginkgo biloba interacts with other medicines you are taking, including blood thinners, antidepressants, and anticonvulsants. If you are taking any medications, discuss potential interactions with your healthcare provider before taking ginkgo biloba supplementation.
- Combine taking Ginkgo biloba with healthy lifestyle practices While ginkgo biloba may offer potential benefits for brain health and overall well-being, it's important to complement supplementation with other healthy lifestyle practices. This includes maintaining a balanced diet, staying physically active, managing stress levels, getting adequate sleep, and engaging in mental stimulation activities.

Studies have shown that beets offer many benefits, such as promoting heart health.Data has also revealed that the nutritious root vegetable contains natural plant pigments and phytochemicals that have science-backed abilities to sustain and boost the health and function of several body systems.
Additionally, a recent study found that unique compounds in beets can help fight oxidative stress and inflammation. Researchers also reported that these compounds may help reduce fatigue, boost energy levels and even improve athletic performance.
The study was published in the journal Current Nutrition Reports. For this study, the research team analyzed betalains for their therapeutic potential.
Betalains, the natural plant pigments responsible for the bright red color of beets, have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These compounds also boost the levels of beneficial nitric oxide in the body, in turn helping to relax arteries and improve blood flow and circulation.
The researchers said this increases the availability of oxygen, which leads to enhanced performance during exercise. The review authors credited betalains with alleviating exercise-induced fatigue and improving sports performance.
The new review builds on previous studies, such as a small randomized controlled trial published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise that showed how beet juice can improve oxygen use and enhance performance in a group of amateur cyclists exercising at simulated high altitudes. (Related: Un-beet-able: Study shows beetroot can boost athletic performance.)
The authors of the recent review also mentioned other studies showing how betalains could help ease exercise-induced muscle damage.
Both professional and amateur athletes know that intense physical activity can damage skeletal muscles, which causes symptoms like stiffness, pain and loss of muscle strength that can last from two to 14 days.
People who have overexerted themselves at the gym may understand the aching and weakness that can follow after intense physical activity. Fortunately, beets and beet juice might offer some relief.
A 2024 study published in the journal Nutrients found that beetroot extracts can significantly decrease blood levels of inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein and malondialdehyde. For the study, researchers observed 32 elite athletes who had just run a marathon.
The results of the 2024 study also revealed that beet extracts boost the activity of glutathione, a potent antioxidant and detoxicant produced in the body. The research team suggested that beetroot supplementation "positively influences" recovery from muscle damage.
The 2024 study also supports the findings of an earlier article published in the journal Sports Medicine, where researchers credited betalains with reducing post-exercise muscle damage, inflammation and fatigue. They also added that the compounds helped speed recovery after workouts.
Beets can also support optimal heart health
Experts also think that the same properties of beets that enhance athletic stamina, like boosting increasing nitric oxide and promoting blood flow, can support optimal heart health.
Aside from betalains, research has suggested that healthy levels of potassium in beets can help lower blood pressure.
In addition, one cup of cooked beets contains four grams of fiber, which can help support lower levels of homocysteine. This can offer benefits because excessive amounts of homocysteine have been linked to heart disease.
Sarah Thomsen Ferreira, a registered dietitian, has advised that beets can help improve arterial health and reduce LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol.
Beets are savory and earthy with a satisfying consistency. A low-calorie superfood, beets may help create a sense of fullness that can reduce overeating and fight against obesity. As a bonus, beets can help stabilize blood sugar. These root crops are also a good source of folate, a B vitamin that can help prevent strokes.

DARK SECRETS: Your dark chocolate may contain lead and cadmium
04/17/2024 // HRS Editors // 920 Views

For people with a sweet tooth who are worried about their sugar intake, dark chocolate may seem like a healthier alternative to other sugary treats like cookies or milk chocolate.
After all, many studies have suggested that dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants that can help boost overall well-being. Additionally, dark chocolate contains relatively low levels of sugar.
The National Confectioners Association has even reported that more than 50 percent of survey takers have "described dark chocolate as a 'better for you' candy."
But like other superfoods, not all kinds of dark chocolate are automatically good for you.
Research findings have revealed that some cocoa products like dark chocolate bars contain heavy metals like cadmium and lead which are linked to various health problems in both children and adults. (h/t to ConsumerReports.org)
Dark chocolate offers health benefits, but some brands are contaminated with heavy metals
The chocolate industry is aware of heavy metal contaminants in chocolate products and has been struggling to lower those levels.
To find out how much of a risk chocolates pose, Consumer Reports (CR) scientists measured the amount of heavy metals in 28 dark chocolate bars. The experts said they detected cadmium and lead in all of them.
CR tested different brands, including smaller ones like Alter Eco, and more familiar ones such as Ghirardelli.
Out of the 28 tested chocolate bars, eating only one ounce per day of 23 of the products would put an adult over a level that public health authorities and CR’s experts warn could be harmful to at least one of those heavy metals.
Additionally, five of the tested chocolates were above those levels for both cadmium and lead. This is bad because consistent, long-term exposure to even small amounts of heavy metals can harm your health.
Tunde Akinleye, the CR food safety researcher who led the testing project, warned that the danger is greatest for pregnant women and young children because the metals can cause developmental problems. Heavy metals can also harm brain development and result in lower IQ.
Akinleye warned that heavy metals may harm people regardless of age.
He added that frequent exposure to lead in adults may cause health issues such as:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Immune system suppression
- Kidney damage
- Nervous system problems
- Reproductive issues
Mintel, a market research firm, has reported that while not everyone eats chocolate every day, 15 percent of people do.
And even though you don't eat chocolate frequently, exposure to lead and cadmium can still be a concern. These heavy metals can also be found in other foods, like carrots, spinach and sweet potatoes.
Small amounts of heavy metals from different sources can still add up to dangerous levels, which is why you need to limit exposure when you can.
Akinleye advised that despite the CR test results, you don't need to avoid chocolate forever. While most of the chocolate bars tested had concerning levels of lead, cadmium, or both, five of the tested products were relatively low in both heavy metals.
Akinleye said that this is proof that companies can make chocolates with lower amounts of heavy metals and that consumers can still find safer products to enjoy.
Worried about dark chocolate with heavy metals? Try Organic Cacao nibs
Determining the exact amount of dark chocolate that’s risky to eat is difficult because heavy metal levels can vary. At the same time, different people have different risk levels and chocolate isn't the only source of heavy metal exposure.
But experts say that by being mindful of the risks, you can still enjoy dark chocolate while minimizing the potential harms. (Related: Cacao nibs: The ultimate superfood packed with antioxidants.)
Aside from choosing your dark chocolates wisely, you can also make changes to your shopping and eating habits so you can continue to eat chocolate safely. For example, you can avoid brands with known high heavy metal content and opt for safer choices, like lab-verified organic cacao nibs from trusted sources.
The purest and rawest form of chocolate, cacao nibs are small pieces of crushed beans from the Theobroma cacao tree, which is native to Central and South America. Unlike cocoa, which has been roasted and heavily processed, raw cacao is untreated and unprocessed.
This means that cacao offers the full, rich flavor of delectable dark chocolate with none of the added sugars, sweeteners, emulsifiers, flavorings, thickeners, preservatives, or other additives that are usually found in regular chocolate products.

Study claims drinking a mug of black tea provides enough nutrients to prevent COVID infection

https://www.naturalnews.com/wp-conte...pot-Health.jpg
The symptoms commonly associated with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) may be preventable by drinking a single mug of black tea every day, a new study claims.Researchers from the University of Georgia (UGA) say that one cup of black tea provides an additional line of defense against possible infection by "inactivating" the so-called virus inside the mouth.
Five different tea varieties – raspberry zinger, eucalyptus mint, mint medley, green tea and black tea – were evaluated as part of the research, each one prepared with a single tea bag steeped for 10 minutes. All of the teas were found to reduce the prevalence of COVID by 96 percent within 10 seconds of contact in the mouth.
Of the five teas tested, black tea was found to be the most effective, reducing COVID infection potential by an astounding 99.9 percent.
"At this stage, we are not suggesting tea as a stand-alone intervention against COVID because the virus also replicates in the nose and may have already reached the lung by the time a person tests positive," commented Malak Esseili, a virologist at UGA who led the study.
"But tea can be an additional layer of intervention that the patients and their families can easily adopt on a routine basis."
(Related: Check out this article we published last year that provides clues as to how to remove toxic graphene oxide from the body.)
Green, matcha tea also effective against COVID
The findings are backed by another study out of the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in Japan. Researchers there found that both green tea and matcha tea may help to limit the transmission of COVID.
In green tea varieties, two compounds – EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) and TFDG (theaflavin digallate) – appear to bind to the spike protein of COVID, rendering it ineffective at causing infection.
Green and matcha tea were found in the same Japanese study to be particularly effective against the Omicron variant of COVID, which the media and government scared everyone with after the original strains of COVID started to wane.
"Having something that is accessible, easily prepared and suitable for all the family would be ideal," added Esseili about his study concerning black tea.
Esseili's research actually began at the start of COVID when the world was scared by the media and government into locking down and wearing a mask, which had never before happened on a global scale.
Looking for something to protect herself and her family, Esseili got to work looking at natural remedies that were easy to use and palatable for most. Black tea fit the bill, and after a quick trip to the grocery store, she got to work investigating the beverage.
Together with green and matcha tea, black tea is an easy-to-access and very affordable food that, even if it is not as foolproof against COVID as Esseili's study found, is worth a shot.
"Inactivating SARS-CoV-2 in the mouth and the throat matters because that potentially reduces the introduction of the virus to the lower respiratory system," she explained.
Clinical trials are still needed to better understand how tea works to protect against COVID. It apparently works both as a beverage and a gargle, meaning people can swish black tea around in their mouth and not even consume it and still obtain benefits from it.
Esseili is a virologist at UGA's Center for Food Safety in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Her study was published in the journal Food and Environmental Virology, a Springer journal.

Damage at Glen Canyon Dam could jeopardize water supplies in Western U.S.

https://www.naturalnews.com/wp-conte...-faucet-1.jpeg
Officials have identified significant pipe damage in a major U.S. dam on the Colorado River that could leave 30 million Americans suffering from a water shortage. This is just the latest example of how the nation’s aging infrastructure is impacting quality of life.According to inspectors from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the Glen Canyon Dam has sustained severe pipe damage. As a result, there will not be a spring water release, which could compromise supplies of water downstream.
The affected pipes are known as the river outlet works and release water from Lake Powell into the Colorado River to flow into Lake Mead. So far, there has been no word on a fall release, and residents who depend on the water in Utah, Nevada and California are facing uncertainty about their water supply and could face ongoing water shortages as a result.
Lake Mead is the nation's biggest reservoir when it is full, and water flows there through four eight-foot-wide pipes along its 200-mile journey when the dam releases water. However, the damage means that the dam might not be able to offer a consistent release of water to Lake Mead. The reservoir is currently just under one third full.
A memo released by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation warned: “In summary, at reservoir levels below the minimum power pool (elevation 3,490 ft), there are concerns with relying on the river outlet works as the sole means of sustained water releases from Glen Canyon Dam.”
The pipe damage is the result of a process known as cavitation in which small air bubbles in the water pop as they pass through the plumbing of the dam, creating an implosion that forms shock waves capable of tearing away small chunks of the protective coating that lines the inside of the pipes. It is believed to have occurred over time rather than as the result of one specific event. Experts note that this type of damage is more likely when the reservoir’s levels are low. It will need to be addressed with repairs such as a fresh coating of epoxy, something that may not be possible until next year.
The damage was discovered following a high flow experiment that saw a significant volume of water released to feed Lake Mead. No water will be released this month, which will keep Lake Powell’s water level high and safe for area residents, while those downstream will be in jeopardy.
Threat to water supplies should not be overlooked
Even before the report announcing the damaged pipes was released, the Glen Canyon Dam has been at the heart of concerns about the shrinking Colorado River for some time. Water experts worry that the water level in Lake Powell could fall so low that water cannot pass through the hydropower turbines that are responsible for generating the electricity used by 5 million Americans across seven states. Should the water levels drop even lower, water will not be able to pass through the dam at all.
The executive director of the Glen Canyon Institute, Eric Balken, has warned that the pipe damage could pose a major threat to water supplies. He said: “I think it's really important for people to recognize how much of a threat this is to our water delivery system. This is a really big infrastructure problem, and it has a big impact on how water is managed throughout this whole basin.”
The affected tubes were designed in the 1950s, and Utah Rivers Council Executive Director Zach Frankel said that their age is a major factor in the damage.
“The plumbing design of Glen Canyon Dam is archaic. It's just too old. It's literally antique plumbing, and it's going to have to be fixed by lowering the bypass tubes to a lower water level, presumably at riverbed level,” he said, adding that repairs could cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

Dr. Judy Mikovits: Health agencies are hiding the cures for cancer

Renowned biomedical research scientist Dr. Judy Mikovits warns that government health agencies are hiding the cures for cancer due to greed and corruption.Mikovits revealed this during a recent episode of the "Health Ranger Report" with Mike Adams, the Health Ranger. According to her, they discovered plants and botanicals that can cure cancers like prostate cancer. But Big Government shut them down as they were making progress with their research.
"All the patents before that and all the intellectual property made by Frank Rossetti [were discarded]. We know what they did. They fired him. They locked him in a closet in Fort Detrick, with one technician who happened to be the one from hell. They shut you down. They take it all. They give somebody else your work, they publish it as fraud," she said. Rossetti was her colleague who discovered the human T-lymphotropic virus 1, the first disease associated with human retrovirus.
Mikovits herself was suppressed because of her scientific knowledge. She lost everything she ever made, such as the $10 million from Morehouse College. She became homeless and lived on a boat for some time. And her husband was murdered. "We have proof, we have absolute proof. And that's what we're running on now."
She also recalled a time when there was a syndrome of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome called immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome. "I remember very clearly what to do with your immune system. We don't make fevers. We don't get with the Interleukin-1 or IL-1 beta or the cytokine storm. We can see these things and fix it," she further stated. "If you turn that on too fast, you burn out. You have to manipulate it to hit the core pathways. We've done that over the last 15 years. We're 25 years ahead of their time."
Mikovits: We are being censored
Elsewhere in the show, Adams brought up how scientists have been implementing "fraudulent science innovations" that cause more harm than good. One example: biosludge.
"Think about all the hormone disruptors in the biosludge that spread on the farms. And we are living in a deliberate toxic stew but then people are still signing up to take more jabs, swallow more pharmaceuticals, grow their food but they're growing their food on human shit," he said. "Every city is dumping its raw sewage all over the farms and people are like, 'I trust the science.'" (Related: Regulators STILL allowing toxic BIOSLUDGE to be dumped all over food crops, polluting them with PFAS "forever chemicals.")
"There is no science to that," Mikovits quipped. She added that when you do statistics, there are always lies.
"Here's the science," she said pointing to all her books. "None of these books are in any library and being taught to medical students. They are being taught immunology. They're being taught consensus and propaganda. Gravity is gravity and viruses are viruses. And I know how they work. I got Ebola, and have it out very recently."
Mikovits is doing everything to let people know the truth, but it's not going to be easy. "We can't get people to hear us if we're censored," she said.
Head over to CensoredScience.com for more scientific discoveries and natural cures that are being suppressed by corrupt health agencies.

Spirulina protects against COVID death, study finds

https://www.naturalnews.com/wp-conte...ntioxidant.jpg
A new randomized controlled trial published in the journal Frontiers in Immunology reveals that spirulina, a nutrient-dense blue-green algae, is powerfully effective against the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).For six days, patients who tested positive for COVID took either spirulina and a conventional remedy, or just a conventional remedy without spirulina. Everyone in the spirulina group survived, but 15 percent of the non-spirulina group ended up dying.
"The overall results of the present study showed that a six-day course of Spirulina platensis plus the standard treatment of COVID-19 was superior for the recovery of patients compared to standard treatment alone," the authors wrote.
The research took place at two separate Iranian hospitals and involved 189 total patients. The spirulina group took 15.2 grams of the supplement powder in capsules alongside a standard COVID treatment while the other group just took the standard treatment.
The dosage of spirulina used was based on earlier research suggesting this amount is effective both as an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.
In both the spirulina and the non-spirulina group, half of the test patients were in an intensive care unit (ICU) while the other half were in a non-ICU.
(Related: Supplementing with spirulina is also effective against chemical dioxins, helping to detoxify them from the body.)
Imagine the benefits of spirulina alone
All in all, 91 patients took spirulina. Some of them ended up withdrawing from the study, but not a single person died, including from the ICU group where patients suffered more severe symptoms.
In the control group that did not receive spirulina, there were 98 participants, 46 of whom were non-ICU. In the control pool, four people died from the non-ICU group while 11 people died from the ICU group. All patients received a follow-up evaluation for seven days.
As you might expect, the spirulina group was found to show significant reductions in inflammatory markers in their blood, along with much higher oxygen levels than the control group.
The standard, non-spirulina treatment included antiviral therapy with remdesivir, corticosteroids (dexamethasone) and anticoagulants (heparin or enoxaparin). Patients that showed excessive inflammation were also given tocilizumab or other steroids.
It is important to note that nobody in the study received spirulina alone. Had there been a spirulina-alone group that did not receive remdesivir and the other drugs, perhaps there would have been even greater outcomes among the patient pool.
The reason for mentioning this is that remdesivir is a highly deadly drug that shows minimal, if any, benefits. It is a bit duplicitous to call the group that received remdesivir and the other drugs minus spirulina a "control" group, but this is the same thing they do in vaccine studies by giving the "placebo" group other vaccines rather than simple saline.
Thankfully for everyone in the spirulina-plus-conventional therapy group, they all lived despite taking remdesivir – but the same cannot be said of the non-spirulina group which lost 15 people to early death.
"It doesn't surprise me that there are benefits from adding this to the diet and regimen of those in hospital," commented Dr. Yusuf Saleeby, an integrative medicine doctor and director of the Carolina Holistic Medicine clinic, in a statement.
Spirulina, by the way, contains healthy levels of beta carotene, B-complex vitamins, vitamin E and various minerals such as copper, manganese, selenium and zinc. Spirulina also contains an essential fatty acid known as gamma-linolenic acid.
"All these are important in maintaining health and a healthy immune system," Saleeby said about these nutrients.
Saleeby and other natural clinicians routinely prescribe spirulina and another blue-green algae type known as chlorella "to detoxify patients with chronic diseases, toxicities and poisoning" since the two algae varieties draw out and absorb heavy metals from the body, which are then excreted.

Dangers of GM corn spark huge trade dispute between the U.S. and Mexico

Mexico and the U.S. are currently engaged in a major trade dispute over genetically modified corn that could have a major impact on American agriculture.Corn is considered a staple crop in Mexico and makes up a significant part of the diet there; it is consumed in 89 percent of all Mexican meals. The country has successfully stopped genetically modified corn from being grown there for the last quarter century to protect the ancient maize strains growing there, along with the health of their citizens.
The crop has been the subject of trade battles between the U.S. and Mexico before, but the current battle, which is now being argued before a United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) panel, relates to a presidential decree issued by Mexico last year banning genetically modified corn in dough and tortillas; the country also declared it will gradually replace genetically modified corn in all human and animal foods.
Both Canada and the U.S. are opposed to the ban, with American trade representatives insisting that the corn does not damage health and attempting to force it into Mexico. It’s clear why they are so eager to push this narrative; genetically modified seed is used in 90 percent of American crops. However, a ban could also have ramifications for the German corporation Bayer, which purchased GM seed producer Monsanto, and the Chinese state-owned seed and agrichemical producer Syngenta.
Mexico maintains that the U.S. has not presented any proof that genetically modified corn is safe in the long term, especially when it is consumed at the high volumes seen in the typical Mexican diet. Corn consumption is a remarkable ten times higher in Mexico than the U.S., making research linking genetically modified crops to health issues particularly concerning among governmental and medical officials there.
The Epoch Times points out that this trade disagreement also draws attention to the conflicting ideological values between the two countries. While Mexico is chiefly concerned with protecting indigenous maize and public health, the U.S. is focused on protecting the agricultural biotechnology sector and American farmers.
Now, a three-member panel of the USMCA will be tasked with considering the scientific evidence and arguments to make a ruling, and the outcome could have significant repercussions for agriculture.
Canadian Biotechnology Action Network Coordinator Lucy Sharratt told the publication: “If the panel pays attention to the science, they should come to the same conclusion as the Mexican government. If they’re swayed by politics and the power behind the technology, it’s going to be difficult for them to see the reality of the science.”
The group, which is devoted to educating the public on genetic engineering in food, was originally invited to provide input to the trade tribunal, but the offer was later rescinded following requests by the U.S. and Canadian governments.
Mexico presents scientific studies demonstrating the dangers of GM corn and glyphosate
Mexico is presenting 66 articles published in reputable, peer-reviewed journals demonstrating the health risks of genetically modified corn. These include reductions in nutritional content, organ damage, antibiotic resistance and cancer.
Mexico has also sought a ban on glyphosate, the carcinogenic weed killer used on these crops. Genetically modified corn is engineered to resist glyphosate, the main ingredient in the highly popular weed killer RoundUp, which means that GM corn is sprayed generously with the toxic chemical. The ban was supposed to go into effect at the beginning of this month, but it has been pushed back while the government finds a suitable alternative that is available in sufficient amounts.
They included 74 papers and studies about the dangers of glyphosate in their report, including evidence of residues of the chemical on GM corn.
One study that looked into the dangers of the chemical from the Journal of Organic Systems found a sharp rise in the prevalence of 22 diseases that coincided with the increasing use of glyphosate, including diabetes, Alzheimer’s, inflammatory bowel disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, several types of cancer and multiple sclerosis.

Best Kept Secrets To Prevent, Halt, Or Even Reverse Macular Degeneration
POSTED ON APRIL 24, 2024 HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES
https://www.naturalblaze.com/wp-cont...acular-gmi.pngBy Katherine Carroll, NTP
Have you ever felt your money was wasted on supplements? That even though you consistently followed the protocol from your health-care practitioner you were not getting the results others obtained with the same program? You may have been right! We’ve helped hundreds of patients with age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) with these healing secrets designed to help “non-responders”; those for whom the average supplement and dietary protocol fails to work.
ARMD is the leading cause of blindness in elderly Western populations and it is marked by central vision loss where blind spots or scotomas intrude. Threading a needle and passing the driver’s licensing test eventually become impossible but ARMD is preventable – even reversible to some degree with the diligent, intelligently targeted efforts we have put into practice in our clinics to increase the chances of success.
https://greenmedinfo.com/sites/defau...cular_reversal
The best doctor’s recommendations or nutritional consulting for ARMD are fruitless unless nutrients are able to be broken down or micellized, transported to the macula, and assimilated there. After years of observing how some patients prevent ARMD despite strong hereditary tendencies, how some halt or even reverse impending blindness, and how some patients actually get worse despite being on the same protocol, it became clear that powerful tactics were needed in addition to recommending dietary changes or supplements.
The strategies we employ are successful for many individuals and have applications far beyond the diagnosis of ARMD. They will influence conditions or diseases where proper fat breakdown is essential to impact issues such as dry eye, post-cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery) status, liver disease, etc. The eye, GI tract, liver, and gallbladder are intricately entwined. Think about it, when your liver is sick, your eyes turn yellow or jaundiced. When your GI tract is out of balance, red, itching “allergy” eyes often result. Interesting signaling! The solution is more complicated than just popping a supplement or even making some dietary changes. Are you ready to learn the secrets? Whether you have macular degeneration or not, these concepts will serve you well.
Best Kept Secret #1: Work from the GI Tract Outward
Some doctors, when pressed if they had only one system to specialize in, would tell you, “The GI tract.” Why? Because the GI tract is central to good health and its ability to affect the entire body so powerful when operating at its peak. It is here that we begin to improve vision. The target nutrients used in past studies[1] to prevent, halt, or reverse ARMD are lutein, zeaxanthin, beta-carotene, antioxidants, and fish oil. The carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin, and beta-carotene) concentrate in the central part of the retina, and help us identify colors and see fine details, so they are vital in a healing strategy. They also provide protection against blue light, which damages the retina. Building macular optical pigment density (MOPD) is the goal in this approach, replenishing the macula; but first we have to break down these carotenoids and antioxidants and then shuttle them to the macula by following several simple tactics.
Dr. Stuart Richer, who demonstrated success in reversing macular degeneration with the LAST studies,[2] shares an encouraging increase in MOPD in the pictures below. From July 14, 2011, to October 6, 2011, the degree of MOPD increased by employing some of the following strategies. A picture is worth a thousand words and is the tool best used to motivate patients to committed action. These pictures give hope to those losing their eyesight; the macula is refilling nicely with lutein and zeaxanthin.
https://greenmedinfo.com/sites/defau...s/image004.png https://greenmedinfo.com/sites/defau...s/image006.png
The graphs show MOPD, at baseline on the left and increasing in the right-hand picture reflected by the non-red portions of the image after nearly three months of supplementation use. This means the macula is refilling with lutein and zeaxanthin.
To ensure proper breakdown of supplements, use a good digestive supplement, preferably one that contains ox bile, taurine, lecithin, and adequate hydrochloric acid, or a combination of these. Thinning the bile is a major key to eye health as it will help more lutein get to the macula. Doing a liver/gallbladder flush[3] seasonally is an aggressive part of the plan, if one wishes to take a serious, logical approach. Remember, the liver and gallbladder influence the eye, so aim to create a healthy, fully functioning liver and gallbladder. We are not only our eyes. We are a complete system, so thinking from a systems biology approach[4] may create the desired healing response. To do this, head south to the GI tract first.
https://greenmedinfo.com/sites/defau...generation.jpg
Interior Terrain Influences Absorption, So Start Clean
A well-functioning GI tract influences the eye tremendously. Support digestive ability by following the 4-R[5] or GI Restoration program. Absorption of the macula-replenishing carotenoids like beta-carotene will be hindered by the presence of Helicobacter pylori bacteria and/or an imbalance of intestinal bacteria. This interior terrain needs a healthy balance of good bacteria versus bad bacteria by using targeted supplements and the support of digestive enzymes along with the other approaches discussed in the 4-R protocol.
All of the targeted supplements and carotenoid-rich foods we suggest will not do you a bit of good unless they are first broken down or micellized.
As even Wikipedia notes, “Micelle formation is essential for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and complicated lipids within the human body. Bile salts formed in the liver and secreted by the gall bladder allow micelles of fatty acids to form. This allows the absorption of complicated lipids (e.g., lecithin) and lipid soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) within the micelle by the small intestine.”[6]
These are the micellizing “magicians” that get the job done: (1) Ox Bile: Supply exogenous ox bile, particularly to post-cholecystectomy patients; (2) Lecithin: (Sunflower or soy) can be added to the diet to aid in fat breakdown; and (3) Taurine: A precursor to bile production, which also thins bile.
Fat-soluble lutein and zeaxanthin, essential to replenish the macula, require being emulsified or broken down to the micellized state in order to enter the bloodstream for transport by a very surprising particle “shuttle,” high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
Sufficient, Well-functioning Bile Is Vital
Bile acids are made from cholesterol in the liver and stored and concentrated in the gallbladder where they act as an emulsifying agent to break up fat into smaller globules, making it more soluble or hydrophilic. This process is called micelle formation. Fat and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, K, beta-carotene, and the carotenoid family are carried to the intestinal mucosa, absorbed into the lymphatic system, and then into the bloodstream. So what is the best kept secret? First, break down the fat-soluble vitamins and then get them to the macula by raising HDL levels to 61 or above. Do you know what your HDL level is?
We discovered this secret by observing hundreds of macular-degeneration patients and had noted in their history that many had had their gallbladder removed or else they were obese or otherwise compromised and had trouble digesting fats, as evidenced by their dry skin, dry eyes, weight gain, gas and bloating, or floating or shiny stools after fatty meals had been consumed. The connection was obvious! No gallbladder, fat maldigestion, or liver or GI issues equaled problems. Half a million people a year are opting for cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery), not realizing that they can simply cleanse the liver and gallbladder with a “flush,”[7] which is basically an “oil change” that removes old, stasis bile and relieves symptoms in most cases. It is not hard or expensive to do and anyone can do it. And it is certainly worth a try.
However, we are concerned – particularly in a patient with macular degeneration who has undergone cholecystectomy – that fat-soluble vitamins be effectively broken down and absorbed. It is hoped that practitioners caring for macular-degeneration patients incorporate these strategies into their standard of care so that non-responders will have more chance of improvement.
But proper breakdown isn’t the end of the story. Nutrient transport is another key player. Call the HDL “Shuttle.”
Best Kept Secret #2: Lutein and Zeaxanthin Need HDL Particles
Lutein and zeaxanthin, critical components to replenish the macula, are carried in the bloodstream to the macula on HDL particles. That’s amazing. Carotenoids responsible for central vision hitch a ride on a cholesterol particle and hone in on their destination: the macula. And you thought cholesterol was the enemy … wrong! Cholesterol in a healthy ratio and thin bile are key players in this healthy-eye strategy.
Bile is made of bile salts, cholesterol esters, and lecithin. Keep cholesterol at a healthy, total level and at an optimal HDL-to-low density lipoprotein (LDL) ratio because if cholesterol is too low, we will not have enough of the raw materials we need to make bile. Be sure you have what it takes to make cholesterol. Even magnesium plays a part. Blood-serum concentration of lutein and zeaxanthin by proper breakdown of nutrients into micellized globules is important, but equally important is the ability to transport them to their targeted destination. Unless HDL cholesterol is adequate – at least 61 milligrams per deciliter – time and money are potentially wasted on supplements.
Strategies to Raise HDL
Since keeping your HDL at 61 mg/dl or over is important, you might consider the following strategies:
- Exercise: Regular exercise that raises your heart rate for 20 to 30 minutes increases HDL.
- Lose Weight and stop eating transfats: Carotenoids concentrate in the fat first, so if overweight, lose weight! Meantime, while you’re working on it, take more lutein and zeaxanthin and employ the most successful diet recorded to lose weight and reduce disease: the Hale Project[8] documented the amazing success of the Mediterranean Diet (MeDi). Not only is it a smart way to eat, but it also reduced all causes of death and disease by fifty percent in study participants aged 70-90 with active disease processes established after ten years adherence, practicing moderate red wine consumption, light exercise, and not smoking. Macular degeneration or not, this diet is proven!
- Drink Red Wine or use Resveratrol: High-altitude or heat-stressed vine wines from Argentina, Chile, Australia, or damp, moldy vines found in areas like the Finger Lakes of New York are typically higher in resveratrol and will not only raise HDL but also influence health at 1-2 glasses per day. If you don’t drink wine or it is contraindicated for you, then use non-alcoholic resveratrol.
- Take Niacin and Fish Oil: both increase HDL.
- Quit Smoking: Besides reducing HDL smoking asphyxiates the eye.
- Get an Oil Change: Remove all transfats from your diet and replace them with healthy, healing oils to raise your HDL. Employ olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, hemp oil, and flax oil.
There is strength in combining a multi-pronged approach, so consider employing the total approach. Preventing, halting, and even reversing blindness is worth every sacrifice or new habit employed to ensure success and these secrets are a winning combination.
Summarizing the Total Approach
- Aim for an HDL of 61 mg/dl.
- Lose weight, if needed, and take a combination of supplements proven to halt or reverse macular degeneration. If overweight, take more than the recommended amount of carotenoids or use water-soluble zeaxanthin. In either case, employ the MeDi. It extends life and reduces disease.
- Take a supplement that supports proper fat breakdown along with a good eye vitamin.
- Do the 4R program[9] and/or a liver/gallbladder flush in the Spring and Fall to improve fat assimilation.
- Flush and nourish the liver/gallbladder.
- Eat a preferably organic diet, rich in the carotenoids, to replenish the macular pigment (MOPD -remember the pictures?). Egg yolk, kale, spinach, collard and turnip greens lightly steamed, romaine lettuce, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, red and yellow vegetables, and fruits are all great sources.

Declaring patients “brain dead” allows doctors to conduct lab-rat like experiments on the sick

If you or a loved one is ill, be careful going to the doctor because you could end up becoming a lab rat.Should you end up at the hospital in urgent care, you could end up becoming a victim of the "brain dead" deception whereby the medical profession is legally allowed to experiment on you.
Two "brain dead" men were recently exploited by The University of Alabama at Birmingham and the NYU Langone Transplant Institute in New York City, which implanted genetically modified (GMO) pig kidneys into the two men's bodies.
Because the two men were designated as no longer having functional brains, doctors decided that they were no longer humans worthy of life, in essence.
Since potentially deadly untested therapies are generally unattractive to people with functioning cognition, Western medicine is resorting to taking advantage of people who are unwell and thus unable to stop mad scientists from using them as lab rats.
Medical ethicists like Joel Zivot, MD, MA, JM are utterly appalled that this kind of thing is even allowed to happen because of how soulless and cruel it is. Zivot says that "brain death" is an excuse to turn living souls into resources and commodities that feed greed.
Human organs, it turns out, fetch a hefty profit for those who worship money. So, whenever there is an opportunity to extract them, they do so by falsely designating their victims as "brain dead."
"Most people do not receive any type of informed consent when they selflessly sign a donor card at the Department of Motor Vehicles and have no idea that they can be considered 'dead' while they are still respiring and have a beating heart," explains Heidi Klessig, MD, writing for American Thinker.
(Related: During the Wuhan coronavirus [COVID-19] "pandemic," government officials ordered doctors to kill their patients for the benefit of society.)
Never designate yourself as an organ donor on your license
Many good-hearted people have no idea that this type of thing even happens when they opt to become an organ donor on their driver license. Were the general public to ever learn the truth, everyone would likely opt out.
The problem is that most people have no idea that the "brain dead" scam even exists, which means those perpetrating it continue to get away with committing crimes against humanity for profit.
Sure, there are some standards in place that are supposed to protect patients being exploited like this, but the medical profession as a whole is deliberately relying on outdated definitions that allow them to basically get away with murder.
"While the UDDA requires 'cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brainstem' for a diagnosis of 'brain death,' doctors now generally follow the 2010 American Academy of Neurology Guidelines, which require only documentation of coma, a bedside test of brainstem reflexes and an apnea test," Klessig writes about the Uniform Determination of Death Act.
"No other special studies of 'the entire brain' are required."
As for the two men who now have GMO pig kidneys in their bodies, they will remain on ventilators as xenograft hosts until the medical profession is done exploiting them, or until they die – whichever comes first.
"If allowed, doctors will make patients 'brain dead' in order to attain more lab rats," wrote a reader. "Doctors are not angels."
"The stuff of what used to be science fiction," commented another.
"As a healthcare provider, I have been aware of this for some time which is why I revoked donor status on my driver license some time back," said another. "The sad thing is that I used to advocate for organ donation."
Be careful participating in Western medicine: it might end up killing you. Learn more at BadMedicine.news.

Dynamic duo: Why TURMERIC and BLACK PEPPER are a powerful combination
04/25/2024 // Olivia Cook // 2.9K Views
Tags: bioavailability, black pepper, curcumin, food cures, food is medicine, food science, goodfood, goodhealth, goodscience, herbal medicine, Herbs, natural cures, natural health, phytonutrients, piperine, remedies, Spices, superfood, turmeric
https://www.naturalnews.com/wp-conte...pper-corns.jpg
Turmeric and black pepper are noteworthy for their stand-alone health benefits. But when combined, this dynamic duo becomes a powerhouse of healing.Turmeric (Curcuma longa) has substantial amounts of the plant compound curcumin. This phytochemical is a strong antioxidant that also boasts of being able to fight inflammation, bacteria and fungi. But this bright yellow spice has one drawback – the body cannot absorb it well, with most amounts of curcumin being eliminated.
Meanwhile, black pepper (Piper nigrum) is rich in piperine, a bioactive compound that gives this spice its signature pungency. Piperine is similar to the alkaloid capsaicin, which is present in chili powder and cayenne pepper. This phytochemical has been shown to help address nausea, headaches, poor digestion and inflammation.
But piperine's most notable quality lies in its ability to enhance the body's absorption of curcumin. Adding black pepper to turmeric can mitigate the poor absorption of curcumin into the bloodstream. According to research, supplementing C. longa with P. nigrum significantly improves the body's curcumin uptake by a huge degree.
A study published in the Planta Medica journal expounded on this. Researchers from India examined how curcumin alone and piperine-curcumin in tandem was absorbed in both animal and human models. According to the study, adding 20 milligrams of piperine to two grams of curcumin notably increased the latter's absorption.
In rats given both piperine and curcumin, the bioavailability of the latter increased by as much as 154 percent. Meanwhile, the bioavailability of curcumin in human participants increased by 2,000 percent when supplemented with piperine.

There are two prevailing theories explaining this phenomenon, as outlined by two separate studies. The first theory was outlined in a study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine. According to the paper, piperine may facilitate the passage of curcumin through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream.
Meanwhile, a February 1986 study in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics suggested that piperine might inhibit the liver's breakdown of curcumin. This, in turn, elevates the amount of curcumin entering the bloodstream, translating to health benefits.
How to best enjoy the incredible health benefits of turmeric and black pepper
Here are some examples of how you can combine turmeric and black pepper:
- Brew a tea by simmering turmeric powder and black pepper in water for about 10 minutes. You can enhance its flavor by adding a dash of honey or lemon.
- Create a paste by mixing turmeric powder with a small amount of black pepper and water or oil to form a thick consistency. Apply this paste topically to areas experiencing pain, such as joints or muscles and gently massage it into the skin. Leave it on for some time before rinsing off.
- Look for supplements that contain both turmeric extract (curcumin) and black pepper extract (piperine).
It's important to note that while turmeric and black pepper have been studied for their potential anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, individual responses may vary. It's always a good idea to consult with a natural health practitioner before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications.

Excerpt:
Riyadh: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched an urban vertical farm project for food markets and stores, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The initiative, the first of its kind in the region, allows customers to obtain fresh food products grown in the Kingdom.
The ministry’s undersecretary, Ahmed Al-Eyada, attended the launch of the project, which was implemented by a leading bioagriculture company.
Danube markets in Riyadh is hosting the first vertical farm in the project. Commercial display units in the market contain a variety of plants and agricultural products, such as lettuce, coriander, parsley and broccoli — many of which were previously sourced from abroad.
The ministry aims to launch about 600 to 1,000 farms in the retail system across all markets in the Kingdom over the next five years. These farms are intended to meet 20 to 40 percent of domestic demand for agricultural products and vegetables.
Vertical urban farms in stores aim to preserve natural resources, maintain ecosystem balance and promote sustainable productivity. By shortening supply chains, they also reduce loss and waste, and introduce a new farming model suited to local farmers and businesses in the Kingdom.
The initiative offers multiple benefits for consumers by providing high-quality vegetables and fruits that retain their freshness and nutritional value for up to five times longer than traditional methods, the SPA reported.

Licorice is an effective breast cancer fighter, research reveals
by: Dr. Veronique Desaulniers | April 29, 2024
https://cdn.printfriendly.com/buttons/print-button.png
https://www.naturalhealth365.com/wp-...ce-150x150.jpg(NaturalHealth365) Licorice has been proven in numerous studies to stop cancer in its tracks, especially when it comes to breast cancer tumors. But this humble yet powerful herb has also gotten a bad rap for its association with heart arrhythmias, drops in potassium levels, and even heart attacks in some individuals.
What is the real deal about licorice? Is it a healer or a health threat? Keep reading for the true facts that every cancer patient needs to know.
Licorice: Don’t overdo it, and stay away from the candy!
Let’s cut right to the chase and first talk about what all the fuss is about. The FDA and others warn that you can overdose on too much licorice – and for some individuals, this is absolutely true. According to the FDA:
“…black licorice contains the compound glycyrrhizin, which is the sweetening compound derived from licorice root. Glycyrrhizin can cause potassium levels in the body to fall. When that happens, some people experience abnormal heart rhythms, as well as high blood pressure, edema (swelling), lethargy, and congestive heart failure.”
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts add that too much licorice may have an effect on adrenal hormones and can lead to a condition called pseudoaldosteronism.
For these reasons, most experts recommend that healthy individuals interested in using the vast healing power of licorice utilize deglycyrrhizinated licorice, or DGL, where the glycyrrhizin has been removed (although glycyrrhizin itself is considered to be one of the healing substances in the root). Many also recommend not using any licorice product or supplement for more than four weeks at a time. Of course, if you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, stop using it right away.
SHOCKING PROBIOTICS UPDATE: Discover the True Value of Probiotics and How to Dramatically Improve Your Physical, Mental and Emotional Wellbeing with ONE Easy Lifestyle Habit.
I would add that if you are on any kind of cancer-healing protocol, stay away from the candy version. This is not a healthy way to utilize the healing effects of this powerful herb. The “candy” version often contains more sugar than the actual herbal extract, and science has confirmed that cancer feeds on sugar. In addition, many commercially processed licorice candies are created using ammonium chloride.
Although no tests have been done as yet to determine this chemical’s carcinogenic effects, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control have found that chronic exposure to ammonium chloride can lead to acute respiratory problems.
What are the powerful cancer-killing properties?
Interestingly, the University of Massachusetts researchers and others in Western medicine recommend that individuals with hormone-sensitive cancers (such as breast, ovarian, uterine, and prostate cancer) avoid using licorice altogether.
However, this advice is in direct contrast to recent studies that have found specific tumor-reducing, immune-boosting, and hormone-regulating factors within the root.
Researchers at the University Sains School of Medical Sciences in Kelantan, Malaysia, discovered eight different bioactive immunomodulators within herbs such as licorice, curcumin, apricot, ginseng, and a host of others. Of these eight, four of them can be found in licorice, including:
- Ajoene, an anti-fungal
- Arctigenin, a lignan with anti-cancer effects
- β-carotene, a powerful anti-oxidant; and
- Glabridin acid can also prevents DNA damage caused by oxidation.
Other studies have found similar connections between the properties of licorice and breast cancer healing and prevention:
- Researchers at Rutgers University were able to isolate a particular polyphenol molecule, ß-hydroxy-DHP (BHP), extracted from licorice root. This molecule has the ability to kill breast and prostate cancer tumor cells while leaving healthy cells unaffected.
- The Chinese have long used licorice root as a hormone balancer and for complications associated with menopause. A study conducted by Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, China, looked specifically at the Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) content found in licorice root and its effect on estrogen-positive breast cancer. The researchers found that licorice extract had an effect on estrogen levels that was breast cancer-preventative in a dose-dependent manner: the DMSO stunted cancer cell proliferation in high doses yet had the opposite effect at low doses.
- Other studies have found that licorice root helps to positively balance testosterone metabolism, decrease serotonin re-uptake, and reduce cortisol levels, all three of which are important to breast cancer prevention and healing.
- Finally, licorice has proven to be a powerful immune system regulator. Isoliquiritigenin and Naringenin found in the root can promote T cell growth. Glycyrrhizin and other flavonoids found in licorice can help reduce inflammation in the body overall.
Consider licorice as part of your breast cancer healing toolbox
There are so many powerful herbs found in nature that contain powerful cancer-healing properties. With over 400 compounds in one small root, licorice can definitely be considered among them. Ancient cultures from India to Greece knew this; licorice has been used all over the world for thousands of years as a hormone-balancer, immune system booster, aid for oral health, digestive aid, and more. Now, modern science is discovering the exact mechanisms that make it a true healer.
If you are considering using this herbal wonder as part of your breast cancer healing protocol, be sure to do so with the help of a qualified healthcare provider. In addition, certain tests, such as the Research Genetics Cancer Center (RGCC) Test, may be able to pinpoint if licorice supplementation is right for your breast cancer journey.

PRIME Drinks facing lawsuit after tests show each beverage contains 3X the LIFETIME amount of “forever chemicals”

The manufacturer of PRIME Drinks, a popular hydration brand created by influencer Logan Paul, is being sued after the beverages were found to contain three times the amount of "forever chemicals" a person can safely consume in an entire lifetime, according to reports.Paul's electrolyte brand was found to contain PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonic acid), a grouping of toxic chemicals known as perfluorinated alkylated substances (PFAS) that persist inside the body and lead to health conditions like cancer and other chronic illnesses.
"PRIME is now getting sued and you should be seriously concerned if you have any prime since it released," tweeted the Wall Street Apes (@WallStreetApes) account on X.
"So prime is now going through a new lawsuit after it was discovered that their drink has PFOS which is forever chemicals but what's really concerning is the fact that the lawyer who tested their drink is claiming it has three times the amount of forever chemicals a human can safely have in their lifetime and the lawsuit is claiming they found these forever chemicals in the grape flavored prime drink."
(Related: Last spring, Canadian scientists came up with a novel filtration method capable of permanently removing forever chemicals from drinking water.)
Skip the PRIME, kiddos
While the grape-flavored version of PRIME was apparently the primary focus of a forever chemicals investigation, it appears as though other flavors of the same brand are also contaminated with PFOS.
"One lawyer on TikTok actually spoke about this and said he had a 10 year old and his mother talked to him about how her son got leukemia after drinking prime. Now knowing that prime contains these chemicals, it's very much likely because of it," Wall Street Apes further tweeted.
"These chemicals are known to cause cancers and deteriorate your health since they're forever chemicals and your body can't get rid of them. Prime has 3 times the amount of these chemicals a person should have in their lifetime."
PRIME comes in little single-use packets much like other popular hydration brands, so beware when shopping that you do not accidentally pick one up instead of a better, safer brand.
Also, check out the video below to learn more about other toxic food products sold in the United States that contain deadly chemicals banned in other countries:
"FDA is a worthless department," someone commented on X, wondering where the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is in all this (probably too busy going after raw milk and Amish farmers, no doubt). "Get rid of them or make them do their job."
"FDA cooperates hand-in-hand with Big Pharma," responded another, explaining that current FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb also sits on the Board of Directors at Pfizer.
"The food that makes us sick lines pharma's pockets. They incentivize one another. Just as corrupt as the current regime."
"Nothing is safe to eat anymore," said someone else. Stay away from the interior aisles of your grocery store. Even all Campbell's soups have GMOs now."

Adding a top crop or cover crop to your home vegetable garden can help boost your harvest and improve soil quality.Read on to find out about the benefits of cover crops and which plants you can grow in your garden. (h/t to ForksInTheDirt.com)
Why do you need cover crops?
There are different ways of cover cropping, from holding a field for a full year, part of spring or over the winter. Incorporating cover crops into your garden means you can just sow the seeds after you have harvested a late summer crop.
There are also several benefits of planting cover crops in your garden. One is to build up organic matter in garden soil.
Planting cover crops like legumes can add nitrogen to the soil, or directly to the plants if they are grown simultaneously.
Lastly, growing cover crops will help break up compacted heavy soil with plants that have thick roots. If left to rot, some cover crops will create space in the soil for nutrient and water transfer.
"Feeding" garden soil keeps it alive. Cover cropping is one way to grow your own mulch, which feeds the soil in different ways from organic mulches.
By choosing which plants to grow, you can choose what to feed your soil. Some gardeners may want to add some nitrogen, or help break up the soil with your chosen cover crop. (Related: Sprouts: Your perfect emergency preparedness food choice.)
If you're not sure which cover crops to try, you can start with a blend of oats, peas and radishes.
The oats will create a thick mat of mulch that keeps weeds down the following spring. While the peas add nitrogen, the radishes can also break up the garden soil.
You can also try growing buckwheat. This plant is easy to cut back, but you should cut it before the seed heads form so it doesn't re-seed.
Plant buckwheat in the spring before a later succession of heat-loving vegetables like peppers, tomatoes or zucchini. You can leave the cut stalks or work them into the soil.
Where to get Organic Freeze-dried Vegetables for your stockpile
Before SHTF, having freeze-dried vegetables in your stockpile ensures that you have extra food if you are somehow unable to grow plants in your home garden.

Maple syrup may help reduce chronic inflammation and fight superbugs
by: Dena Schmidt, staff writer | May 6, 2024
https://cdn.printfriendly.com/buttons/print-button.png
https://www.naturalhealth365.com/wp-...9-150x150.jpeg(NaturalHealth365) The first global symposium focused on the health benefits of pure maple syrup was held in early April 2017. This symposium was part of the 253rd annual American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting in San Francisco, which is a big deal considering that the ACS is the largest scientific society in the world.
The special symposium was called “Chemistry and Biological Effects of Maple Food Products.” Scientists gathered to share research on maple syrup’s positive effects on inflammation, infection, and the gut microbiome. Since then, new research has shown that certain aspects of maple syrup may even offer cancer-fighting benefits. A study published in Oncology Reports discovered that maple syrup contains some substances other than the usual antioxidants, which may help fight colorectal cancer.
Maple syrup is used traditionally by Native populations for its healing properties
Chronic inflammation is at the root of many diseases and conditions, including arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer. It is also a factor in liver disease, metabolic syndrome, and brain health and can upset the balance of the gut microbiome.
Native populations in Canada have used maple syrup for centuries to help fight infections. Scientists have been studying the unique properties of pure maple syrup closely for over a decade.
Researchers have found that some of its health benefits are linked to a complex carbohydrate called inulin. This natural fiber acts as a prebiotic, encouraging the growth of positive gut bacteria, which supports immune system functioning.
Key compounds boost the effects of antibiotics
The beneficial compounds in maple syrup are numerous. Two additional compounds were discovered recently that have antioxidant properties, bringing the known count of beneficial phytonutrients up to 65. A polyphenolic molecule called Quebecol and an analog called isoquebecol show significant positive effects against inflammation.
Research from McGill University has also found that maple syrup can dramatically boost the antimicrobial effect of antibiotics. When carbenicillin and ciprofloxacin were administered along with the syrup, up to 90 percent fewer antibiotics could be used with the same healing results. These results hold tremendous promise for fighting viruses and “superbugs.”
Pure maple syrup also contains key vitamins and minerals that make it a “functional food.” A maple sap drink formulation was found to bring a symbiotic (both probiotic and prebiotic) benefit to gut flora balance. This could offer an added benefit for persons taking antibiotics.
Maple syrup is loaded with health-enhancing polyphenols
As you know, gut health and balance are crucial to immune system health. A healthy immune system can then, in turn, help protect the body against chronic inflammation – which is at the root of many debilitating health conditions.
While some inflammation is part of normal immune system response, chronic inflammation can cause (or make worse) many health problems. Fortunately, foods rich in polyphenols, like pure maple syrup, help fight off and prevent chronic inflammation.
Examples of other polyphenol-rich foods include lots of fruits and vegetables or green tea.
Maple products are produced in abundance in places like Vermont (in the United States) and Canada, with around 7,500 businesses and 44 million taps in Quebec alone. As awareness of the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties spreads, interest and demand worldwide will no doubt increase for this sweet (small) addition to the diet.

Celery: A heart-healthy vegetable with cancer-fighting properties

Celery (Apium graveolens) is a low-calorie vegetable with long, fibrous stalks that you can eat raw or cooked. Despite its high water content, celery packs a nutritious punch and provides potent antioxidants that give it two remarkable health-supporting properties.According to animal and human studies, eating celery can help lower your blood pressure naturally and also fight different types of cancer.
A favorite among weight watchers, celery has a very low calorie count, with two stalks containing only 15 calories. This is not surprising as celery is made up of almost 95 percent water. Despite this, celery is a great source of essential nutrients, such as dietary fiber, vitamins A, B5, B9, C and K, calcium, iron, molybdenum, potassium and magnesium. This, along with its high water content, makes celery the perfect hydrating food to snack on during hot summer months.
Research shows that celery also contains plenty of beneficial phytonutrients that are behind its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, diuretic, antihypertensive, cholesterol-lowering and anticancer properties. Some of the active components of celery that have been highlighted by studies are apigenin, luteolin, apiuman, chrysoeriol, coumarin, phthalides, polyacetylenes, perillyl alcohol and d-limonene. These compounds can be found in the leaves, seeds and heart of celery.
Celery found to lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol
A 2015 study published in the Avicenna Journal of Phytomedicine looked at the effect of celery leaf extracts on the blood pressure, heart rate and lipid profile of an animal model of hypertension (high blood pressure). The extracts were obtained from fresh celery leaves using 70 percent ethanol as solvent. (Related: Celery is a crunchy superfood that reverses metabolic syndrome.)
The researchers divided the hypertensive rats into five groups: The control group were given plain drinking water; the second group received 200 milligrams (mg)/kilogram (kg) celery leaf extract; the third group received only 10 percent fructose in their drinking water; the fourth group received 10 percent fructose and 100 mg/kg celery leaf extract; and the fifth group received 10 percent fructose and 200 mg/kg celery leaf extract.
At the end of each week for seven weeks, the researchers measured the animals' blood pressure and heart rate and analyzed blood samples to check their lipid profiles. At the end of the study, the researchers found that the systolic blood pressure of rats given fructose significantly increased compared to the control group. However, treatment with 100 mg and 200 mg/kg celery leaf extract significantly decreased blood pressure in the fructose groups.
Similarly, fructose significantly increased blood cholesterol, blood triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels in the groups that received the sugar. But treatment with celery leaf extract reversed this effect and significantly improved the lipid profiles of the hypertensive rats. On the other hand, the researchers noted that the extract had no effect on the heart rate and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) of any of the groups.
Because of these findings, the researchers concluded that "celery leaf extract, with its blood pressure and lipid-lowering effects, can be considered an antihypertensive agent [for the] chronic treatment of elevated SBP [systolic blood pressure]." (Related: The powerful antihyperlipidemic effect of celery seeds.)
In humans, celery has also been reported to have a similar effect. A recent study published in the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine reported the case of an elderly hypertensive patient who experienced heart benefits after including celery juice in his daily diet. The 74-year-old patient, whose blood pressure measured 150/80 mmHg and also suffered from neck pain, initially tried various medications to treat his condition but complained that they gave him chest discomfort, which prompted his switch to a natural intervention.
Together with chiropractic intervention for his neck pain, the patient drank celery juice every day for six months. No exercise or other lifestyle changes were included in the intervention. At the end of his care, the elderly patient's blood pressure significantly decreased and was reported to be 118/82 mmHg, suggesting that drinking celery juice regularly can effectively lower high blood pressure.
Aside from powerful antioxidants, experts attribute the antihypertensive properties of celery to compounds called phthalides. Research shows that a celery phthalide called 3-n-butylphthalide (NBP) can relax the tissue lining the walls of your arteries to improve blood flow and naturally reduce blood pressure. The apigenin in celery has also been found to lower blood pressure by acting as a diuretic (increases urine production) and vasodilator (widens blood vessels).
Celery also boasts potent anticancer properties
The anticancer activities of celery extracts are also well-documented. For instance, a recent study published in the journal Bioinformation reported that extracts from different parts the vegetable, such as its leaves and seeds, exhibited cytotoxic (damages or destroys cells) activities against rat liver and human lung cancer cell lines. (Related: Scientists say celery may help prevent and treat cancer.)
In animal studies, celery seed extracts, which contain luteolin, have also been found to inhibit carcinogen-induced liver and stomach cancer. The anticancer properties of luteolin, according to a review published in Heliyon, can be "attributed to its capability to engage with multiple molecular targeted sites and modify various signaling pathways in tumor cells."
Other studies have found that luteolin can induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in oral cancer cells; promote cell cycle arrest in colon cancer cells; inhibit IGF-1 receptor signaling in prostate cancer cells (thus preventing cancer growth and metastasis); and slow the spread of breast, colorectal, lung, prostate, liver, skin, pancreatic, oral and stomach cancers.
Meanwhile, the apigenin in celery leaves has been shown to induce apoptosis in human skin, thyroid, gastric, liver, colon, cervical and prostate cancer cells, as well as to prevent the migration and invasion of ovarian cancer cells. Animal studies also reveal that the perillyl alcohol in celery seeds can suppress the growth and metastasis of both estrogen receptor (ER)+ and ER- human breast cancer cells. (Related: Celery is an underappreciated vegetable: This nutritional superhero targets cancer cells at a molecular level.)
Celery is a nutritious superfood that can do wonders for your health when incorporated into a well-balanced diet. Bursting with powerful compounds that possess remarkable properties, celery can help keep your heart healthy and lower your risk of different types of cancer.

As a superfood full of "healthy" fat, avocados are popular among health enthusiasts or those trying to support their overall well-being. According to a study published in Current Developments in Nutrition, consuming one avocado per day may also help "improve overall diet quality."The study was led by a team of researchers from Pennsylvania State University's Department of Nutritional Sciences. The team included Kristina Petersen, associate professor of Nutritional Sciences, and Penny Kris-Etherton, retired professor of Nutritional Sciences.
For the study, the research team investigated how food-based intervention, specifically one avocado per day, can affect overall diet quality. The findings are important because poor diet quality is a risk factor for many diseases, including heart disease.
Additionally, many American adults have poor diet quality and do not meet key dietary recommendations provided by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
A closer look at avocados and dietary habits
According to Petersen, avocados are a nutrient-dense food and they contain a lot of fiber and other important nutrients.
While conducting the study, the researchers tried to find out if the regular intake of avocadoes would result in "an increase in diet quality.
Petersen said previous observational research suggests that avocado consumers have higher diet quality compared to non-consumers. As a result, the research team developed the study to find out if "there is a causational link between avocado consumption and overall diet quality."
Petersen explained that because only two percent of American adults are regular avocado consumers, the researchers tried to confirm if including avocados in someone's daily diet could significantly increase their diet quality.
Before the study, researchers conducted phone interviews with participants. Interviews were also conducted throughout the study to find out what their dietary intake was like in the previous 24 hours.
The researchers also evaluated their diets using the Healthy Eating Index to measure how well they adhered to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
The researchers worked with 1,008 participants divided into two groups. One group continued with their usual diet and limited their avocado intake during the 26-week study. The second group incorporate one avocado a day into their diet.
Petersen said the participants who consumed one avocado per day "significantly increased their adherence to dietary guidelines." This suggests that some strategies, like eating one avocado per day, "can help people follow dietary guidelines and improve the quality of their diets."
(Related: Latest EWG consumer’s guide reveals 2024’s DIRTY DOZEN and CLEAN FIFTEEN.)
In the study, the researchers classified avocados as a vegetable and they observed an increase in vegetable consumption attributed to the avocado intake.
Some participants also used avocados to replace some unhealthier options. Petersen warned that having poor diet quality significantly increases one's risk for conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes and other preventable diseases.
She advised that improving people's adherence to dietary guidelines is an effective way of helping reduce their risk of developing chronic conditions and "prolong healthy life expectancy."
Petersen has conducted similar studies about the impact of food-based interventions, including the link between pistachios and diet quality. However, she added that more research is needed to find out what other food-based strategies can be used to improve people's adherence to dietary guidelines.
Healthy ways to incorporate avocados into a balanced diet
Avocados can easily be incorporated into diets through making green smoothies or adding them to scrambled eggs. Avocados can also be used as a substitute for dips like mayo and sour cream. Here are some tips on how to incorporate an avocado into nutritious meals:
Seasoned
Keep things simple by sprinkling avocados with a bit of salt and pepper. Other flavorful seasonings to try include balsamic vinegar, cayenne pepper, lemon juice or paprika.
Cut an avocado into chunks and add your preferred seasonings and spices before serving.
On toast
Start the day with avocado on toast, a healthier substitute for regular spreads like butter and margarine. Avocado can also be pureed as a spread on toast and sandwiches for a more nutritious meal.
In salads
Studies also suggest that the extra calories from fat and fiber in avocados may help keep people fuller for longer. This can then help reduce calorie intake at subsequent meals.
Because salads can be light in calories, adding avocados can make them a more filling meal.
In soups
Avocados can be used as the main ingredient in avocado soup. Chunks of the superfruit can also be added into other soups.

Papers and Articles Reviewed:
(Article republished from MakisMD.Substack.com)
2023 Jun – Movahedi et al – Repurposing anti-parasite benzimidazole drugs as selective anti-cancer chemotherapeutics
- Benzimidazole drugs (including Fenbendazole) have widely been used as anti-helminth agents in both human and/or livestock since the 1960s
- These drugs have rapidly become more popular than previous medications due to superiority in terms of efficacy, toxicity and application
- Benzimidazole drugs are considered as non-toxic anti-helminth agents in humans and livestock. Acute toxicities are rarely reported for these drugs.
- Neither chronic adverse effects in dogs and rats treated with very high dosages, nor irritation, carcinogenicity or teratogenicity in treated rats and rabbits have been observed
- Two major mechanisms of action:
- 1. antimitotic activity (inhibition of tubulin polymerization by binding to tubulin sites of rapidly dividing cells (leads to cell cycle arrest)
- 2. disrupt cell metabolic processes by inducing oxidative stress
- Result: induce apoptosis (cell death) of rapidly proliferating parasites and cancer cells!
- These drugs inhibit tumor proliferation and growth
- many new benzimidazole derivatives have been developed for the treatment of cancers such as colon cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, chondrosarcoma and leukemia
- Furthermore, new benzimidazole derivatives have demonstrated high capability for overcoming drug resistance
- benzimidazole drugs exhibit anti-metastatic effect through inhibiting cell migration and invasion
- benzimidazole drugs also suppress telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) expression, whose activation is associated with metastasis
- benzimidazole drugs are potent in targeting cancer stem cells and preventing tumor recurrence.
- benzimidazole drugs are also found to prevent the radiation-induced transformation of cancer cells into radiation-resistant cells, and furthermore sensitize some drug-resistant cells.
- Clinical trials are ongoing for cancer therapy with benzimidazole drugs.
- For example, clinical study of mebendazole as adjuvant treatment for colon cancer is in Phase 3 (NCT03925662)
- and mebendazole in combination with other antiprotozoal agents including albendazole for neoplasm therapy is in Phase 2 (NCT02366884).
- Three Phase 1 clinical trials are also ongoing for mebendazole and brain tumors (NCT02644291, NCT01729260, NCT0183787862).
- THERE ARE NO CLINICAL TRIALS WITH FENBENDAZOLE
- low water solubility of benzimidazole drugs impedes their clinical applications
- nano-formulations are being created to improve bioavailability
- benzimidazole drugs are also being combined with other chemotherapeutics, such as paclitaxel, trametinib, gemcitabine and methoxyestradiol, to enhance the anti-cancer treatment efficacy.
- benzimidazole drugs have also sensitized tumor cells to radiation therapy
2023 Apr – Chi-Son Chang et al – Anti-cancer effect of fenbendazole-incorporated PLGA nanoparticles in ovarian cancer
- ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynecological cancer
- nanoparticles deliver poorly soluble drugs
- fenbendazole, an anti-parasitic drug was examined due to its anti-cancer effects: ability to interfere with microtubule polymerization, block cell cycle progression, increase p53 protein stability and induce apoptosis.
- However, fenbendazole has low water solubility and poor bioavailability which are major obstacles to its clinical application as an anti-cancer agent
- Nanoparticles were loaded with fenbendazole to increase bioavailability
- Results: natural form of fenbendazole significantly decreased cell proliferation of both chemosensitive and chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells
- But in vivo (xenograft mouse models), only the nanoparticle fenbendazole formulation showed anticancer effects.
2023 Mar – Semkova et al – Redox-mediated Anticancer Activity of Anti-parasitic Drug Fenbendazole in Triple-negative Breast Cancer Cells
- fenbendazole was tested on triple negative breast cancer cells, three different types including a highly metastatic type
- Results: the highly metastatic breast cancer cells were more vulnerable to fenbendazole induced oxidative stress
2023 Mar – Haebeen Jung et al – Differential cytotoxic effects of fenbendazole on mouse lymphoma EL-4 cells and spleen cells
- fenbendazole was tested on a mouse lymphoma cell line vs normal spleen cells
- purpose of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic effects of fenbendazole on normal cells of the spleen, which is a major reservoir of immune cells
- fenbendazole increased cell death of lymphoma cells but not of normal spleen cells
- fenbendazole induced reactive oxygen species in lymphoma cells but not normal spleen cells
- fenbendazole induced G2/M cell cycle arrest in lymphoma cells, not spleen cells
- Conclusion: fenbendazole has anticancer effects on lymphoma cells but minimal toxicity on normal spleen cells.
2022 Sep – Deokbae Park et al – Anti-cancer effects of fenbendazole on 5-fluorouracil-resistant colorectal cancer cells
- Benzimidazole anthelmintic agents have been recently repurposed to overcome cancers resistant to conventional therapies.
- fenbendazole was tested on chemo resistant colorectal cancer cells
- Results: fenbendazole significantly induces apoptosis as well as cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase on both colorectal cells and chemo resistant colorectal cancer cells.
- Benzimidazole is historically known to bind beta-tubulin, disrupt microtubules, and arrest cell division
- Benzimidazole is also known to activate p53 and p21 but decrease mutant p53 expression
- in colorectal cancer cells: fenbendazole is presumed to activate p53-mediated apoptosis by increasing p53 expression(!), and partly necrosis, autophagy and ferroptosis
- in chemo-resistant colorectal cancer cells: fenbendazole triggers apoptosis without affecting p53 expression, apoptosis was partly induced by Beclin-1, and further augmented by ferroptosis
- 6 mechanisms of action: (cell cycle arrest G2/M, activate p53-mediated apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis, ferroptosis, Beclin-1 mediated apoptosis)
2022 Jan – Li-wen Ren et al – Benzimidazoles induce concurrent apoptosis and pyroptosis of human glioblastoma cells via arresting cell cycle
- fenbendazole was tested against glioblastoma cancer cells
- 1. fenbendazole dose-dependently suppressed DNA synthesis
- 2. fenbendazole inhibited cell migration and invasion of GBM cells
- 3. fenbendazole also dose-dependently induced the GBM cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase via the P53/P21/cyclin B1 pathway.
- 4. fenbendazole triggered pyroptosis of GBM cells (pyroptosis is a form of programmed cell death) through the NF-?B/NLRP3/GSDMD pathway
- 5. fenbendazole induced mitochondria-dependent apoptosis of GBM cells
- 6. flubendazole inhibited tumor growth of glioblastoma in vivo in a dose dependent manner (in a nude mouse U87 cell xenograft model)
- Conclusion: “Taken together, our results demonstrated that benzimidazoles might be promising candidates for the treatment of GBM.”
2020 Aug – Deok-Soo Son et al – The Antitumor Potentials of Benzimidazole Anthelmintics as Repurposing Drugs
- Benzimidazole anthelmintics have broad-spectrum action to remove parasites both in human and veterinary medicine
- Due to their low cost and high efficacy, benzimidazole anthelmintics have been used throughout the world since their introduction in the 1960s
- Benzimidazole anthelmintics are well-tolerated without severe side effects, and their decades of use provide a basis for safety in humans.
- Benzimidazole anthelmintics selectively bind to ?-tubulin of parasitic worms, causing their immobilization and death
- In addition to being antiparasitic agents, benzimidazole anthelmintics are known to exert anticancer activities which are summarized (also see image at start of article):
- disrupts microtubule polymerization
- inhibits cancer cell viability
- inhibits cancer cell migration and invasion
- induces apoptosis and autophagy
- increased cell cycle (G2/M) arrest
- induces differentiation and senescence
- inhibits angiogenesis
- reduces colony formation and inhibits stem-ness in cancer cells
- inhibits drug resistance and sensitize cells to conventional chemo
- blocks glucose transport and impairs glucose utilization
- Benzimidazole anthelmintics have been shown to inhibit cell viability in a variety of cancer cell lines, appearing as a promising medication:
- breast cancer
- leukemia
- glioma & glioblastoma
- lung cancer
- hepatocellular carcinoma
- rhabdomyosarcoma
- medulloblastoma
- urothelial cancer
2020 Jun – Yong Han et al – Involvement of reactive oxygen species in the anti-cancer activity of fenbendazole, a benzimidazole anthelmintic (leukemia)
- In this study, we investigated whether Fenbendazole has anti-cancer activity in HL-60 cells, a human leukemia cell line
- fenbendazole significantly decreased the metabolic activity of leukemia cells
- fenbendazole decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential of leukemia cells in a concentration-dependent manner
- fenbendazole increased apoptosis and necrosis of leukemia cells
- Conclusion: fenbendazole exerts anti-cancer activity against leukemia cells, in part, via ROS production (reactive oxygen species)
2018 Aug – Dogra et al –Fenbendazole acts as a moderate microtubule destabilizing agent and causes cancer cell death by modulating multiple cellular pathways
- Fenbendazole is known to have a high safety margin and most species tolerate it very well
- Fenbendazole targets microtubules in human NSCLC Lung cancer cells
- Fenbendazole treatment results in early G2/M block accompanied by cell death
- Tumour cell lines with wild-type p53 show enhanced sensitivity to Fenbendazole induced apoptosis
- Inhibition of glucose uptake by Fenbendazole sensitizes cancer cells to undergo apoptosis
- Fenbendazole effectively inhibits colony formation of human NSCLC Lung Cancer cells in culture
- In Vivo: Fenbendazole suppresses tumor growth
- Fenbendazole possesses a unique ability to induce p53 to a considerably high level (!)
- Conclusion: Altogether, our findings show microtubule disruption, p53 stabilization and interference with glucose metabolism as collective underlying mechanisms of Fenbendazole induced preferential elimination of cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo.
My Take…
Ivermectin is FDA approved.
Fenbendazole is NOT approved for human use by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA). It is available as a veterinary medication.
Fenbendazole is part of a larger group of drugs known as benzimidazoles, which are anthelmintic drugs (i.e., drugs that kill parasitic worms). Another benzimidazole is mebendazole, which can be prescribed to humans with certain parasitic infections.
Mebendazole (Vermox) is FDA approved for human use, but it’s significantly more expensive.
Why is Fenbendazole so popular? The Story of Joe Tippens and his terminal Stage 4 Small Cell Lung Cancer
Joe Tippens Cancer Protocol:
- Fenbendazole 222mg per day with food (originally 3 days on, 4 days off)
- Curcumin 600mg per day
- CBD Oil: 25mg sublingually per day
- Vitamin E: 800IU per day
Dr. Tom Rogers MD (Performance Medicine – Knoxville, TN) Suggests Several Protocols utilizing Fenbendazole which are interesting:
ACTIVE CANCER TREATMENT – For active cancer, take one capsule of Fenbendazole (444 mg) daily. Some people recommend you take one day off a week. Note: I think I would just take Sundays off. Again, you’re not supposed to develop a tolerance to this, but taking a little break is probably a good idea. To improve the protocol , take CBD oil (25mg) 1-2 drops every night before sleep. To strengthen the protocol take Curcumin (600mg) twice a day with food. To support the liver, take Milk Thistle (250mg) twice a day with food. Note: Fenbendazole should be taken with or after a meal to improve absorption.
COMPLEMENTARY CANCER TREATMENT – Take one capsule of Fenbendazole (222mg) every day, once a day after a fatty meal; Curcumin (600mg) one capsule, two times a day after breakfast and lunch; CBD oil (25mg) 1-2 drops under the tongue every day before sleep.
CANCER RELAPSE PREVENTION – Taking Fenbendazole for active cancer and cancer relapse prevention, take one capsule (222 mg) three times a week, once a day after a fatty meal.In addition, take Curcumin (600mg) one capsule/two times a day after breakfast and lunch, Milk Thistle, and CBD Oil (25mg) 1-2 drops under the tongue everyday before going to sleep. Note: Have your doctor follow and check liver and kidney function tests. It’s easy, cheap, and you can get this at any doctor’s office.
CANCER PREVENTION (prophylactic) – Those that have had genetic tests and know they’re really prone to getting cancer can take Fenbendazole prophylactically. Take one capsule (222 mg) 3 times a week, once a day after a fatty meal. Then no Fenbendazole for four days. Repeat for 10 weeks and then take 10 weeks off; Curcumin (600 mg) one capsule two times a day after breakfast and lunch; CBD oil (25mg) 1-2 drops under the tongue every day before sleep. Continue that regimen indefinitely.
My Thoughts
Fenbendazole is not that controversial when you consider the scientific evidence objectively.
Fenbendazole has at least 12 proven anti-cancer mechanisms in vitro and in vivo:
- disrupts microtubule polymerization (major mechanism)
- induces cell cycle (G2/M) arrest
- blocks glucose transport and impairs glucose utilization by cancer cells (major)
- increases p53 tumor suppressor levels (major)
- inhibits cancer cell viability (mTOR)
- inhibits cancer cell migration and invasion (EMT pathway)
- induces apoptosis
- induces autophagy
- induces pyroptosis and necrosis
- induces differentiation and senescence
- inhibits tumor angiogenesis
- reduces colony formation and inhibits stem-ness in cancer cells
- inhibits drug resistance and sensitizes cells to conventional chemo as well as radiation therapy
A very similar drug in the same family as Fenbendazole is FDA approved: Mebendazole, and it is in several Clinical Trials right now for brain cancers and colon cancers.
So why are there no Fenbendazole Clinical Trials for Cancer?
The answer seems rather obvious: it’s very cheap, it’s safe, and it seems to be very effective.
Fenbendazole is not going to make anyone rich, and in cancer treatments, that is a non-starter.
What about COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Induced Turbo Cancers?
Fenbendazole shows in vitro and/or in vivo activity against these cancers:
- breast cancer (including triple negative breast cancer – which is seen in COVID-19 mRNA Vaccinated individuals with Turbo Cancer)
- lymphomas (these are the most common COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers and there is more evidence for Fenbendazole with Lymphomas than with Ivermectin)
- leukemias (most aggressive COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers)
- glioblastomas and gliomas (extremely aggressive COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers)
- lung cancer (NSCLC) (strong signal for COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers)
- hepatocellular carcinoma (signal for COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers)
- rhabdomyosarcomas (possible signal for COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancers, sarcomas in general are on the rise)
- ovarian cancers
- urothelial cancers
CONCLUSION:
Although the anti-parasitic Fenbendazole is not FDA approved for human use, there is extensive evidence of anti-cancer effects in the published literature, both in vitro and in vivo, and this is not a controversial medication, as it has been made out to be.
Fenbendazole has an excellent safety profile and its close relative, Mebendazole is FDA approved, and it’s undergoing several Clinical Trials for Cancer Treatments in the US right now, including colon cancers and brain cancers.
I believe that it is a reasonable hypothesis that COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Turbo Cancer patients could benefit significantly from either Mebendazole or Fenbendazole and I would love to see urgent clinical trials with both.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of dry shampoos sold by major companies due to the products containing a carcinogenic compound called benzene that is linked to cancer, including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow."Benzene is an organic chemical compound that has been determined to be a known carcinogen, according to the CDC," one report explains. "High levels of exposure to benzene can lead to various health consequences, including cancer reproductive problems."
"Benzene is not an ingredient that is used to make dry shampoo, instead, it appears in products as the result of a chemical reaction that may occur in aerosol cans, which is why a number of spray deodorants and sunscreens have also been recalled for containing detectable levels of benzene."
Technically first announced in October 2022, the recall affects the following dry shampoo brands, use of which the federal agency says could cause potentially life-threatening blood disorders:
Dove
Nexxus
Suave
TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head)
TRESemmé
"The recall is due to the presence of benzene in the propellant of the aerosol cans, not in the actual shampoo product," the recall states. "The propellant is responsible for propelling the shampoo out of the can."
According to the FDA, exposure to benzene is linked to a wide range of symptoms that include:
Dizziness
Headaches
Fatigue
Nausea
Pale skin
Shortness of breath
Vomiting
Anyone who currently has in possession dry shampoos from the aforementioned companies is urged to stop using them and to dispose of them immediately.
"You should also check your cabinets for any other products that may be affected by the recall," the agency says.
Video Kristie Leong M.D. on X: "Do you use dry shampoo? Tests show that dry shampoo aerosol sprays may contain significantly higher levels of benzene than other aerosol products. Benzene is a known cancer-causing chemical. #healthandsafety #health https://t.co/CcPJRvPGTs" / X (twitter.com)
(Related: There are many environmental and consumer product carcinogens that are causing people to develop cancer.)
How to minimize exposure to benzene
Unfortunately, dry shampoos are not the only products out there that may contain toxic benzene. You and your family could be exposing yourself to it unnecessarily, which is why it is advised to take the following precautions:
1) Avoid using any dry shampoos that come in aerosol cans.
2) Use only dry shampoos that are dispensed using alternative propellants.
3) Always wear protective clothing and gloves when using dry shampoos.
4) Avoid inhaling any of the spray.
5) Only use dry shampoos in a well-ventilated area.
EOnline.com also published a list of benzene-free dry shampoo alternatives that include:
1) K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo
2) Verb Dry Shampoo Powder
3) Geologie Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner
4) I Dew Care Dry Shampoo Powder
5) Handmade Heroes Non Aerosol Dry Shampoo Volume Powder
6) Kristin Ess Hair Fragrance Free Dry Shampoo Powder
7) Billie Floof Dry Shampoo
8 ) Acure Dry Shampoo
9) Act + Acre Fulvic Acid Volumizing Dry Shampoo
10) Bumble and Bumble P.r. Powder Dry Shampoo Powder
Keep in mind that we have not verified all of the other ingredients in these 10 benzene-free dry shampoo options, so be sure to do your due diligence using resources like the Environmental Working Group's (EWG) consumer guide, which contains information about the safety and toxicity of a wide range of consumer products.
"Benzene is heavily utilized in gasoline production," someone noted on X about another common source of benzene exposure.
"Yes, it's quite dangerous," responded Dr. Kristie Leong, M.D. "It doesn't take a large amount to suppress the bone marrow."
"This is the result of corporate greed," suggested another about the dry shampoo benzene scandal.

Whether you are indoors or outdoors, keeping pesky mosquitoes away should be a priority to avoid malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. However, protecting yourself and your loved ones should not come at the cost of exposing yourself to toxic chemicals. Instead of using harmful mainstream pesticides laced with dangerous substances, try natural alternatives that are healthier for you, your family and your home environment.
These five essential oils are tried to true natural solutions to keeping mosquitoes at bay. (h/t to TheThingsWellMake.com)
Cinnamon bark essential oil – Cinnamon bark essential oil contains an active component called cinnamaldehyde which can not only effectively kill off mosquito eggs, but can also inhibit the growth and development of yellow fever mosquito larvae. Cinnamon bark oil can also work well against adult mosquitoes, especially the Asian tiger mosquito. For a DIY mosquito repellant, simply dilute a quarter of a teaspoon (or 24 drops) of cinnamon bark essential oil in four ounces of water. Spray this solution onto your skin and on your clothing, plants, upholstery or around your home for mosquito protection.
Peppermint essential oil – The pleasant and invigorating aroma of peppermint essential oil helps ward off mosquitoes, ants, spiders and other pests, especially when used in high concentrations. This is also why this highly potent essential oil is a popular choice for use in aromatherapy. When mixed with water and sprayed onto the surrounding area, peppermint essential oil can kill most insect larvae before they can develop into full-grown insects.
Citronella essential oil – As one of the most reliable essential oils for repelling mosquitoes, citronella essential oil is frequently the top choice as an ingredient in many natural mosquito repellants. It has a proven track record of warding off pesky mosquitoes and other annoying bugs due to its unique and fragrant aroma that can effectively mask other scents that attract most insects, including mosquitoes. As a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to commercial insect repellents, citronella oil has been found to be as effective as DEET and can provide protection against mosquitoes for up to 2 hours. However, since the oil evaporates over time, be sure to re-apply diluted citronella oil topically once every 30 – 60 minutes. (Related: Organic citronella essential oil is one of the most versatile essential oils on the planet.)
Tea tree essential oil – Also known as melaleuca oil, tea tree essential oil is a great multipurpose insect repellent which can work well against not only mosquitoes but also fleas, lice, bush flies, biting midges and many other pests. Simply mix it with water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture around your home. But in case you do get bitten by a mosquito, diluted tea tree oil can be used to naturally help ease the swelling and itchiness that often accompanies mosquito bites.
Lavender essential oil – Derived from crushed lavender flowers, lavender essential oil has a fragrance that is effective at warding off pesky mosquitoes. As one of the mildest essential oils, lavender oil is considered safe enough for topical use without dilution and is suitable for those with sensitive skin. Simply add a few drops of lavender oil onto a clean cloth and rub the oil onto the bite-sensitive areas of your body.
