The number of layoffs across the United States reached 1,587 in August, involving 165,547 workers, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.

The report, seasonally adjusted as measured by latest filings for unemployment insurance benefits during the month, showed 165,547 people in August made initial claims for unemployment insurance related to mass layoffs, a 14.2 percent hike, or 20,547, from July and up 1.4 percent from August 2010.

And it's always great to be with the National Council of La Raza.

Before I begin, I wanted to thank Janet MurguĂ*a, the NCLR board and staff for the outstanding work they do each day on behalf of the Latino community and our country. NCLaRaza is a bedrock for the Latino community — committed to strengthening this great nation by promoting the advancement of Latino families. I am proud of what NCLR stands for and the work that your organization and affiliates across our country do everyday.

Not surprising and to be expected. You can not expect to fix this economy if we don't reverse the policies that caused this disaster to begin with.

Judy's Five Steps To Fix the US Economy:

    1. stop illegal immigration and reduce legal immigration
    2. pass the FairTax
    3. protect our trade
    4. legalize/regulate/tax under the FairTax the illegal drug trade
    5. drill baby drill

Take these 5 steps and watch this economy make a u-turn and soar back to the top, with no government expense, no harm, no favoritism, no class warfare and no downside.

Republicans need to focus on the long-standing principles of our party and what we know best how to do which is fix the economy, restore liberty and protect civil rights, and SHUT UP about everything else.

Appears she works on the wrong side or supports the wrong people. These are the ones that actually condone the breaking of our laws. And they not only condone it,but actually foster the ideas of more illegal aliens to cross our borders. THEY ARE PART OF THE MAGNET!
