Gun owning mother protects kids from intruder

Guns are only up for debate on corporate owned news shows when used by the 0.00001% of Americans that turn out to be deranged killers on cocktails of anti-depressants.

That’s why you won’t be seeing any reports on an incident that occurred in Atlanta Friday when a mother of two fended off an intruder with a handgun, successfully protecting her kids and her home.

Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman told wsbtv news that the woman spotted a man attempting to get into her property with a crowbar. The sheriff said that she ushered her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace and prepared to defend herself with the weapon.

When the intruder gained access to the property, he was in for an unpleasant surprise.

“The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he’s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,” Chapman told reporters.

The woman opened fire and delivered five rounds to the intruder.

“She’s standing over him, and she realizes she’s fired all six rounds. And the guy’s telling her to quit shooting,” Chapman said.

The woman then ran with the children to a neighbour’s house and waited for police to arrive. The shooter fled but was found a short time later in his car by police. He was badly injured with gunshot wounds to his face and neck, but survived.

The woman’s husband, Donnie Herman said ”My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as responsible, prepared gun owner.”

You can bet your bottom dollar that this story won’t be appearing on Tonight With Piers Morgan, or any other mainstream nightly news show for that matter.

It just wouldn’t jive with the bombardment of anti-Second Amendment legislation that the Obama administration is about to unleash on the American people.

Yes sir, this routine incident will be confined to the backwaters of the internet along with the mass shooting that was prevented in a San Antonio theater within days of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

COLORADO MAN INVOKES MAKE MY DAY LAW AGAINST INTRUDERS

by MARY CHASTAIN 9 Jan 2013, 2:20 PM PDT

When confronted by three intruders in his home, Al Michaud invoked Colorado’s Make My Day Law and opened fire.

"The door opened up quick and three guys came in," Michaud claimed. "That's when the guys said, 'You go back there, I'll take care of him.'"

Thankfully, Mr. Michaud keeps a .357 pistol next to his bed. He bought the gun because of rampant crime in his neighborhood.

"There was one (man) by the door," Michaud said. "I put a bullet in his chest. I was going to shoot the other one in the chest, but the one who was closest to me hit my arm and the gun went off and hit him in his leg."

The Make My Day Law comes from a Clint Eastwood line in the movie "Sudden Impact": citizens are allowed to use deadly force against intruders in their home without fear of prosecution. However, once the intruder leaves the house, that protection from criminal charges no longer applies.

This is why Mr. Michaud did not shoot the third intruder, who managed to run out of the apartment before Mr. Michaud could get off a shot at him.

So far this is the third incident of a citizen using a gun for protection. Last Friday a woman used a .38 revolver against an intruder to protect her and her twins. On Monday a man protected his two-month old son with his gun against an armed robber.

MAN USES GUN TO PROTECT TWO-MONTH OLD SON FROM ARMED ROBBER

by MARY CHASTAIN 9 Jan 2013, 10:08 AM PDT

A man used his gun to protect himself and his two-month old son from a robber in Columbus, Ohio.

Kelby Smith was in the driveway of his brother’s house when a man approached him, put a pistol to his head, and demanded money. While Mr. Smith handed him money he also drew his own weapon. The robber grabbed the money and ran.

But he turned around and pointed the gun at Mr. Smith and his baby. Mr. Smith quickly shot the robber while shielding his baby from the robber.
The robber continued to run, but was found at a nearby hospital. He is now under police guard while he recovers.

Mr. Smith does have a concealed carry permit. Authorities on the scene said they believe he was acting out of self-defense. The police are still investigating and will arrest the man if he is the robber.

This is the second case in less than a week of a parent using a gun to protect their children. Last Friday a mother shot an intruder to protect herself and her twin sons.

Breitbart News will update this story as more details come in.

Police: Fla. clerk's gun beats thief's cattle prod

    Jan 09, 2013

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida Panhandle man has been arrested after he tried to rob a convenience store with a cattle prod but was thwarted by a clerk with a gun.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Lance Tomberlin went into a store just outside Tallahassee on January 2, produced the cattle prod and demanded money from the clerk. Officials say he shocked the clerk several times before the clerk pulled a handgun.

Authorities say Tomberlin fled and another employee tried to restrain him, but he eventually escaped in his truck. Deputies stopped Tomberlin's truck but he fled on foot.

The sheriff's office says Tomberlin was arrested Tuesday and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery.

Jail records didn't say if Tomberlin had an attorney. He was being held without bail.
