Judge says classroom `God' banners free speech

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- A San Diego federal judge has upheld the free speech claim of a Christian math teacher asked to take down classroom banners with the words "God" and "Creator."

Westview High School teacher Bradley Johnson filed a civil rights claim against the Poway Unified School District after he was told the banners promote a "Judeo-Christian" viewpoint.

The seven-foot banners include "In God We Trust" and "All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed By Their Creator."

Judge Robert Benitez on Friday refused to dismiss the case, saying the banners provide "healthy exposure" to diverse ideas.

Yet the same Leftists who claim that classrooms cannot display "Judeo-Christian" viewpoints claim that they have a right to convert American students to Islam:

    Friendswood Junior High

"Public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area have been roped into Islamic training by representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations[1] during class time, prompting religious leaders to protest over Principal Robin Lowe's actions."

If you ask a Liberal about this they always use the phrase "that's different". After all, who am I to argue with a god-like Liberal?

Coupled with their support for the jihad in the Middle East, the attendees recognized the critical importance of domestic lobbying in the United States. One discussed encouraging the Islamic community "to be involved in the political life of this country," adding, "We should assist them in this task. This will be an entrance for us to put, through the Islamic community, pressure on the Congress and the decision makers in America."

I've always felt even though I am not very religious that if you accept one religion just to be politically correct then you cannot draw the line at what you will accept in a classroom. It always reminds me of whites vs. minorities when it comes to hate crimes, it's only considered a hate crime if it's white vs. "minority" yet if a white person is attacked by a black person it is just a crime. That's the problem with PC you think in your head you're being fair when in reality you're being just as biased as those you're leaving out which is usually christians and "white" people acting like christianity isn't a religion and is unPC and also acting like white people have no culture or beliefs.

I honestly believe that this judge was out of line, as I think religion has no place in a public school, especially in a math class. Schools shoudl focus on academics, and religious teaching should be relegted to the home and church.
I am a Christian, but I just don't like the idea of forcing my beliefs down anyone's throat, nor do I take lightly them trying to do the same thing to me and my family.
