Suit alleges Philly housing agency party fund

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Public housing workers in Philadelphia say they were forced to make payroll deductions into a slush fund that financed lavish parties for their boss.

The accusations against the Philadelphia Housing Authority come in a potential class action lawsuit filed Wednesday. It says top employees had to pay $130 a year toward the slush fund to keep their jobs.

Executive director Carl Greene is on leave after news the agency quietly agreed to pay $900,000 to female employees who accused him of sexual harassment. And federal investigators are reviewing agency spending.

The sprawling authority gets most of its $345 million budget from the federal government.
