Elder Bush: Jeb Should Run for President

Former President George H.W. Bush said on Sunday he'd like to see his second son, Jeb, become president of the United States some day.

Interviewed on "Fox News Sunday," Bush said his second son, a former governor of Florida, had all the qualifications to serve in the White House.

Jeb Bush, 55, has said he was considering running for a U.S. Senate seat representing Florida in 2010. The current incumbent, Republican Mel Martinez, has announced he is stepping down.

"I'd like to see him run. I'd like to see him be president one day, or senator, whatever, yes I would," said Bush, who served as president from 1989-1993.

"Right now is probably a bad time. We've had enough Bushes in there," he added.

Bush and the current incumbent, George W. Bush, are the second father and son in U.S. history to serve as President. John Adams was the second president and his son, John Quincy Adams, the sixth.

No father has ever been followed by two sons into the White House.

George W. Bush will leave office on Jan. 20 with approval ratings hovering just below 30 percent in many polls, some of the lowest of any president in history.

We have just been through 8 years...that I dont even understand how the country did not fall into the ocean with whats been done to it. Another Bush? A third torture? Another assault on our country? Our country is probably in a depression. All the theives are being paid off with taxpayer money....not current taxpayer money....but FUTURE taxpayer money. FGS...

These people are crazy.

I guess they did not get the memo that most of the country hates the Bush's now and would not vote for a third cousin twice removed that was related to President Bush.

These aristocrats are completely detached from reality. Either that or they do control the voting machines.

Obama is going to be Bushs third term...I fully expect worst out of him, he is already planning to spend trillions right at the start.

Supposedly, it was Jeb who was expected to follow in his father's footsteps to become the 2nd Bush president, but after losing the Florida governor's race in 1994 and brother George Jr. winning in Texas, Georgy Porgy Jr. beat him to the punch.

For any of you who might be interested, check out the 2009 book, "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker about the Bush family die-nasty...no pun intended. The book was not supposed to come out until after Georgy Porgy Jr. had left office but was released early. Quite enlightening, to say the least.
