As the economy swoons, farmers count their blessings

I don't want to hear a single whine from the farmers on illegal immigration! Between bumper crops, collecting emergency relief dollars and stories like this my sympathy level for them as far as their "labor pool" is pretty darn low!

Greg Moe strolled out of the Sprint Center, bought a large beer in a plastic cup and waded through the crowd in the Kansas City Live area. The 57-year-old Iowa farmer still couldn’t believe he was here, in Kansas City, spending his money on the Big 12 basketball tournament.

Yes, these are rare boom times for those Midwesterners who work the land.

I wonder how much of their profits are from exploiting IA labor who are subsidized by taxpayers?

Well now these farmers can hire AMERICAN labor, since they are doing so well.

Exactly! Their cries of labor shortage and threats that the price of food will skyrocket don't carry much substance do they?
