Thread: I Am So Mad Right Now!!!

So my 7 year old just graduated 1st grade. She has a high reading and math level thanks to us parents. Her neighbor friend is in the 3rd grade, going to the 4th. Her friend does not know 3rd grade math, nor 3rd grade reading. She is on a 1st grade reading and math level, despite the fact that she is in 3rd grade. She is being passed, even though she does not know 3rd grade curriculum. She SHOULD have been failed, but because MR. RODRIGUEZ is her teacher, she was passed. She is hispanic, and I KNOW the kids that are being failed, even thought hey know more than my daughters friend. They are white, and Raven is hispanic. I am so sick of this preferential treatment toward hispanic kids in this school district!!!

Actually I feel sorry for Raven as Mr. Rodriguez is hurting her not favoring her.Who knows maybe he did this because he thinks she will just grow up get married,have children and does not need or deserve a decent education.

He may be a chauvanist pig to his "own people".

there are public schools who are forced to pass kids even if they fail. I know in NYC they have been doing that. The reason for it is that schools are so overcrowded. The only way to eleviate the burden is to pass students pass or fail. Sad world we live in, I tell ya.
