Brown Announces California Governor Run

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

California's Attorney General has declared his candidacy for California governor.

California Attorney General Jerry Brown declared his candidacy for California governor Tuesday morning.

He made the announcement online.

The former two-time governor will be the only Democratic candidate so far. The candidate filing deadline is March 12.

The 71-year-old Brown, who is now California's attorney general, argues that a seasoned politician is the only one who can cut through the political gridlock that has strangled Sacramento.

Brown was governor for two terms between 1975 and 1983.
