It's npt surprising. We didn't even vet our president elect. If hasn't passed a background check why should the CIA director.

Yes, they do just keep coming.

I'm dreading to see what obama has planned via Executive Order since he's already decided that the rules do not apply to him.

Although I'm not thrilled with Obama's appointments, and see the "strong hand of the Clintons" and "various Illuminati" and "blackmail" as a part of the process, let's not go on wild goose chases with false information. Leon Panetta has THREE SONS and NO DAUGHTERS and this woman with the same last name is NOT his daughter, but a 42 year old woman from NJ and Philadelphia who has her own radical Hugo Chavez agenda. Just read some of the posts further down on the link provided, revealing who the woman is.

Given his history of coming up through the GOP before switching to the Democratic party in 1971, and while I might fault Panetta for a lack of experience in intelligence as a CIA chief-nominee, I'm sure not going to accuse him of being unAmerican nor accuse him of having a daughter who (to paraphrase Sarah Palin) goes "pallin' around with Venezuelan anti-American dictators" ...

My real concern is that the "true power" on matters of intelligence is that Brennan character (who parlayed his 25 years as a spook into becoming an intelligence expertise "mercenary") who will be the W.H. advisor on the topic, while Panetta is being thrown to the wolves within the CIA who might not respect nor listen to him (his lack of experience) and who was designated only because he'll get a "clean bill of health" from the Senate which has to confirm him.

Bringing back Zbig as any kind of foreign policy advisor -- after the man gave ruinously bad advice to Jimmy Carter -- is far more harmful to our future prospects than an out-of-his-depth Panetta. Zbig is going to want to get confrontational with Russia and China, and "get friendly with" then use Iran and Syria etc as points of "irritation" to those behemoths -- and that's downright dangerous.
