Divided loyalties should worry any political observer with a sense of culturism. Presidents must be born American citizens. If you're in the Congress or the Supreme Court there is no such requirement. The answer as to why brings us to recognize the importance of loyalty. Though some controversy reverberates in come circles, President-Elect Barrack Obama has American citizenship by birth. But there are still loyalty problems.

President-Elect Obama just barely got born here. His family globe-trotted and his father and step father were not Americans. He has a lot of foreign-born relatives. So now he has an illegal alien Aunt living in public housing in Boston. It would emotionally tear him up to enforce our border laws. Should he betray his aunt and send her back? Should he turn against his family to do his job as our Chief of State? Here we see the immediate impact of divided loyalties.

History has provided other evidence of the danger of diversity when it comes to loyalty. In 1846 the United States went to war with Mexico. When the treaty signing happened we had taken Mexico City militarily. It was an easy win. Today would we easily win a rematch of that war? We probably wouldn't. Why not? Divided loyalties.

This is natural. The other day I was discussing this with my classes here in New York. One fully Americanized student of Mexican -descent contributed, "you guys stole it from us." I brought his pronoun use to attention of the class. I joked about it and explained why it is dangerous. We need to discuss loyalty and teach about it in our schools.

Americanization programs met the last wave of immigrants. These sought to get immigrants to stay in and identify with America. This was a widespread culturist reform effort concerning loyalty. They used parades contests and public schools to teach about loyalty. Many people of Mexican descent already do identify with America. And replacing multiculturalism with culturism will help with increase that number. This is our best step forward.

In Europe, they have been at war with Islam for over one thousand years. So they must ask if in their case diversity is a good thing? Does diversity make them stronger and more able to win wars or the reverse? Americanizers recognized that some cultures were harder to assimilate than others. If assimilation does not work the only choice is border laws. But here loyalty comes back into play.

In a democracy the laws represent the will of the people. In a democracy, if demographics change to where people are more concerned with opportunity for peoples of other nations than the domestic one border laws must become lax or non-existent. And I pray that President - Elect Obama find it in his heart to put American interests above all else. And, though it will be hard for Barrack to send his auntie back, the only other choice is dismantling all of our border laws for sentimental reasons. I hope President - Elect Obama has the strength to put America first.

You also need to inform your student that the land the United States of America gained was also paid for with gold to the Mexican Government. And quite a hefty sum in the rates of the day.

You can also educate them on the definition of a democracy, and a republic.

THE SOLDIER'S TRAINING MANUAL1 issued by the War Department, November 30, 1928, set forth the exact and truthful definitions of a democracy and of a republic - this manual was ordered destroyed shortly after the "bank holiday" in the thirties by the infamous Franklin Delano Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945) thirty-second President of the United States, so that he could institute a democracy utilizing social security as a means to make everyone a slave to the Federal Government. THE SOLDIER'S TRAINING MANUAL used for all men in army uniform, it gave the definition of democracy: (TM2000-25: 118-120 DEMOCRACY) "A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting of any, for direct expression. Results in mobocracy. Attitude toward property is communistic—negating property rights. Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences. Results in demagoguism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy."

From James Madison, one of the members of the Convention charged with writing our Constitution, he wrote the following: "...democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been in violent in their deaths." The word democracy does not appear in the constitution of a single one of our fifty states.

3. John Marshall, who was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court from 1801 to 1835 said: "Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos."

4. Alexander Hamilton, in a speech made on June 21, 1778, stated: "It had been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position is more false than this. The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity."

5. Ralph Waldo Emerson stated: "Democracy becomes a government of bullies tempered by editors."

6. George Washington is his first inaugural address, dedicated himself to "The preservation...of the republic model of government."

7. When asked about the form of government produced by the Constitutional Convention, Thomas Jefferson answered, "A Republic, if you can keep it." (Benjamin Franklin is reported to have said this also.)

8. The Pledge of Allegiance says, "...and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands..."

Attitude toward property is respect for laws and individual rights, and a sensible economic procedure.

I did indeed immediately tell my student about the Gadsden purchase. To say we stole the Southwest but Mexico shortly thereafter sold us the bottoms of Arizona and New Mexico makes no sense. But people during civil strife check their hearts, not their history texts. And my loyalty will be with the US despite facts. We need others to have a gut tie to this nation.

The difference between a republic and a democracy are very interesting. Thanks for the quotes. I have been teaching my students that rights and democracy do not go together. The courts overruling popular decisions sucks. When the court makes a final decision it takes some area of popular discretion away from the people. That is why the Courts suck.

Cool on the Gadsden Purchase. What was the student's response to it? If you don't mind my asking, that is.

IT is interesting the differences between a democracy and a republic. Did you know that up until WWII, a 4th or 5th grade primary school student knew the difference?

Over the last century, I think FDR was the most damaging president to republicanism, and for the most part was America's first seudo emperor. He is known to have enacted more executive orders than every president combined before him. Over 3.300. The only reason for this would be to consolidate power in the hands of the Federal, and the Executive particularly.

Well, my student was a bit stunned and quiet. But I also run all over them with talk. I went on to tell them that the truth doesn't matter. They are already with their side. It was a lecture on the start of WW I. Countries with minorities (such as Austria and Serbia) are dangerous.

I didn't know about students getting the difference between republics and democracies. Older books often mention the difference between liberty and license. That is one I'd like to have on everyone's mind.
