Oakland Police Throw Grenade Into Crowd That Is Trying To He

    Video - Occupy Oakland Protest - Oct. 25, 2011

Find this cop and prosecute his ass from here to San Quentin.

UPDATE - The injured man is Scott Olsen, a Marine Corps veteran twice deployed to Iraq and member of Veterans for Peace. He is in the hospital now in stable but serious condition with a fractured skull, struck by a police projectile (believed to be a tear gas cannister) fired into the crowd.

After protesters run to the aid of the injured Marine, Oakland Police deliberately throw a flash grenade into the crowd. Whatever you think of the Occupy movement, police behavior of this kind is criminal and should be prosecuted.

Address for the hospital where Scott Olsen is recovering, if you wish to send a card.

This is the result protest organizers have been hoping for. I am not talking about the protesters themselves, bu the ones behind the scenes pulling their strings. These protests are moving beyond the exercising of free speech and towards civil unrest and disobedience. The protesters are only " cannon fodder" for the powers behind the movements themslves.
Unfortunate a Vet was injured , but the headline could have easily been " Unemployed Homeless Mother of Four," or any other headline designed to arouse sympathy and support for the protesters.
With no true leadership , common cause , established agenda, these groups of people can easily diverge and desend into participation in activites well outside of legal and Constitutional limits.

MARINES TO OAKLAND POLICE: 'You Did This To My Brother'
    Robert Johnson and Linette Lopez | Oct. 27, 2011, 4:55 AM | 189,915 | 254

Marines around the world are outraged by the injuries inflicted by police on Scott Olsen at Tuesday's Occupy Oakland protests. Olsen is in a medically-induced coma after getting hit in the head by a police projectile.

The following picture is taken from the Reddit thread "How I feel, as a United States Marine, about what occurred in Oakland."

This man is not alone. In the five hours since the thread went up there have been over 600 comments.

Here's an email from the man in the picture.

    Dear Mr. Johnson,

My name is Jay C Gentile, and I'm the man in the picture on BI's front page. I'm sure you're a busy man so I'll try to keep my words to a minimum. I was wondering if you, as a journalist, and with the resources at your disposal, could tell me a reliable place where I can find updates about Scott Olsen's condition. "Occupy Wallstreet" movement aside, Marines share a bond that escapes the boundaries of the English language. I'd like to be able to "check up" on this young man, my brother, and keep up with his condition.

    Thank you very much,

    Semper Fidelis
    -Jay C. Gentile

From what I understand Scott has been upgraded to Fair condition.
