A young woman remained on life support following a deadly shooting on the city's west side Sunday night.

San Antonio police say a bullet-riddled sports utility vehicle pulled into Lackland Air Force Base's visitor's center to get medical help just before midnight. The injured woman was a passenger in the back seat.

Investigators said the victim, who was believed to be 19 years old, was shot in the face and the back of the head. She was rushed to Brooke Army Medical Center. Police said her prognosis appeared very grim.

A second shooting victim was grazed by a bullet. He was taken to University Hospital, where he was expected to be treated and released.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related and may have stemmed from an incident Saturday night. However, investigators were still trying to confirm the details surrounding the dispute.

On Monday morning, they did take a suspect into custody for questioning who was believed to be the trigger man. However, no charges were filed. Several others suspects were expected to be brought in as well.

A friend of the shooting victims who did not want to be identified said the double shooting stemmed from a broken vehicle window.

According to the man, the group all were at a party Saturday when someone threw a brick into the suspect's vehicle and pinned it on his friends. Sunday night's altercation was reportedly revenge for the busted window, he said.

Police said the suspects in this case could face multiple charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. If the female shooting victim dies, a charge of murder is likely to be filed.
