Medal of Honor recipient would not shed 'one drop of blood' for today's 'quadsexual' military

Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady is a Medal of Honor recipient for his time in the Vietnam War, per the Museum of Flight.

In an article entitled "Desecrating old glory akin to desecrating the constitution," Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady says that he would not encourage anyone to join today's military.

Brady believes that the Obama administration's repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell and the allowance of women to serve in combat has dishonored the military.

"Enter Mr. Obama, a progressive moralist, who introduced homosexual conduct into barracks, military communities and foxholes, and transformed our military from heterosexual to quad-sexual (homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender)," Brady writes.

He points to dissonance between biblical teachings and the practice of homosexuality.

"We are already seeing attacks on Christians and conservatives in the military. How can a military chaplain, Christian or Muslim, not teach the truths of the Bible on sodomy?" he asks.

Brady also writes that he is concerned about possible future soldiers and uses the Boy Scouts' recent acceptance of gays as an example.

"The Boy Scouts have been a kind of mini-military, and they face the same moral dilemma. How can they be morally straight when their leadership (essentially to protect their salaries) introduces fornication, by definition, into their ranks?" Brady asks.

He says that the 239th anniversary of the Army is marred by the introduction of women and gays and wonders what the structure of hierarchy in the military will do.

"Soldiers will see their chain of command dancing and romancing other men – or women, or both," said Brady. "The military will become a sexual and moral morass with readiness in shambles."

In addition to what Brady believes are Obama's mistakes, he credits the president with the high rate of military PTSD and suicides.

"Obama is weakening us and emboldening our enemies, which means someday we will require a strong military, but we will not have one," said Brady.

While praising his time in the military, he also worries about its future in his column and doesn't believe young people should enlist.

"I would not serve in a quad-sexual military, nor would I encourage any young person to enlist in today’s military. I would give my life for the country and military I served. I would not give one drop of blood for the country and military we are becoming," he said.

Brady served in the Vietnam war and is the author of Dead Men Flying. Brady led the 54th Medical Detachment as it rescued over 21,000 wounded in 10 months, for which it was awarded 26 Purple Hearts according to the book.
