The most sophisticated and organized terrorist organization operating in Mexico and the United States is Hezbollah.

Hezbollah is a Shia Muslim terrorist group and political party in Lebanon and sponsored by Iran. They want to wipe out Israel.

Hezbollah got started in 1982 after the Israeli invasion into Lebanon. The United States considers Hezbollah a terrorist group. They are targeting the United States because of our close relationship with Israel.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard trained Lebanon's Hezbollah terrorists. Experts say Hezbollah operatives are sophisticated and educated. They specialize in building weapons of mass destruction, tunnels and operating safe houses along the U.S.-Mexico border.

We've learned from law enforcement intelligence, Hezbollah is teaming up with the drug cartels to build drug tunnels into the United States. The terrorist group is also taking over cocaine and heroine operations in Central and South American countries.

Hezbollah uses Shia Muslim communities along the border to launder money. They are now strongly embedded in 15 cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin and New York.

Money is key to Hezbollah. Its operatives are well connected in the communities they live in on both sides of the border. They are often successful businessmen able to quickly raise money. They have an operating budget of $20 million to plan terrorist attacks against the United States.

It’s not the only Muslim terrorist group in the United States. Al-Qaida is an Islamic militant group founded by Osama bin Laden, who orchestrated the 9-11 attack and was recently killed by U.S. forces. Al-Qaida believes a Christian-Jewish alliance is conspiring to destroy Islam. Al-Qaida terrorists are most often referred to as jihadists.

A jihad is a holy war driven by an emotional crusade for an idea or principle. Terrorism experts say the jihadist movement is expanding in the United States.
