RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)—
A local prosecutor who's also the son of state Senate leader Phil Berger says he's considering running for a Piedmont-area seat in Congress next year whose district boundaries may soon be dramatically changed.

Rockingham County District Attorney Phil Berger Jr. told The Associated Press on Tuesday he's looking at the 13th District post currently held by Democrat Brad Miller. The Republican said he loves what he's doing now but that serving citizens in Washington is appealing.

Berger already lives in the 13th District but the boundaries could be more favorable to a GOP candidate next year. The GOP-led Legislature has proposed lines making it harder for Miller to get re-elected.

Forsyth County Republican Party Chairman Nathan Tabor said over the weekend he would run for the 13th in 2012.

state Senate leader Phil Berger is the one that protected illegal alien jobs and matricula IDs this year in the NC Senate. He also supported putting La Raza sympathizers in charge of redistricting and they in turn redistricted in a way to put conservative members of the Senate like Debbie Clary into seats with another GOP lawmaker in them!

ALIPAC is calling for the removal of NC Senator Phil Berger from office over his support for illegal immigration.

Furthermore, we will fervently oppose his son running for a Congressional seat they crafted for him.

Many of us on the conservative side disagreed with Congressman Brad Miller when he drew the 13th Congressional district as a tailor made district for himself.

Now that Republican Phil Berger is in charge of the Senate, he has drawn a district for his son.

How is that for corrupt insider trading?

Kinda gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I read the story. I'm no fan of DA Berger. And since his dad's true nature has emerged, I'm no longer a fan of his.

Who besides Tabor has declared a run for 13th district. Is Bill Randall still able to run for this district?

This is what they have done to Glen Bradley. Makes me VERY mad. I hear there are others as well.

My understanding is that Bill Randall CAN still run for this seat and plans to. The other candidate that I know of is Vernon Robinson (MOD edit--imblest) My bet is they will all SOUND good on immigration but what will they really do?

I talked to Vernon Robinson at the redistricting meeting a couple months ago. Didn't realize he was planning to run again, though I didn't ask him during our talk. I felt good about, and campaigned hard for Bill Randall last time. I really do like him, but you don't know what you get till "it's been got" do you?
Isn't Nathan Tabor over in the 12th district? Socialist Mel Watt's territory?

Don't know where Tabor lives, but the districts are being changed some with the redistricting. Also, the candidate doesn't have to live in the district they run for. Yes, I know, that's nuts.
