How To Return The GOP To It's Conservative Roots

During the GOP Presidential Primaries Ron Paul kept warning his fellow Republicans that they had strayed far away from the roots of their party's platform of limited government, limited spending and non-interventionist policies. He warned them that if they were to continue, they would lose their base and the Republican party would be destroyed.

I couldn't help but remember Ron Paul's words last night as the country, as well as my own state and local community voted overwhelmingly Democratic. And I couldn't blame them one bit. Not that the Democrats have all the answers, but it has become apparent that just hearing the word "Republican", sends chills up and down some people's spines as it reminds them of these past 8 years and that we are in need of change just for change's sake.

I was feeling really depressed today until I realized that this defeat actually presents the perfect opportunity for getting people educated and mobilized into changing the current state of the party. We are NOT going to do it with those people that currently run the GOP. We have to start from the bottom up and I think Ron Paul's new group is the way to go.

The reason Obama's campaign was so successful was because of the youth movement. They were passionate, motivated, and used all the latest information technology to get the word out. Ron Paul has that same kind of support and following. The Republican Party needs that kind of injection of youthful enthusiasm to carry it into the future. I believe the Campaign For Liberty is the way to go. They recently updated their website that allows you to click on your state, then your voting district where you can hook up with people in your own community. They have great resources and tools and have a large membership. Whether you like Ron Paul or not, you can't argue with restoring constitutional principles to our country. The Repulican party can lead the way. You'll see. Once the Democrats start screwing things up, people will start checking out the Republicans again, and we'll be ready!

    The Campaign For Liberty

The mission of the Campaign for Liberty is to promote and defend the principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and non-interventionism, by means of educational and political activity.

The Campaign for Liberty will carry out its mission through the following activities:

    * Gaining a foothold in political life at every level of government by expanding the precinct leader program.

    * Educating the electorate and lobbying against harmful or unconstitutional legislation.

    * Encouraging the formation of discussion groups and book clubs at the local level to help people learn more about the organization's ideas.

    * Establishing a speakers bureau to give presentations around the country about the great principles they champion.

    * Developing materials for homeschooling families, to help them educate their children in history, sound economics, and related fields.

    * Featuring written as well as video commentaries on the news and issues of the day.

    * Additional efforts as time and resources allow.

    Funding and Foundation

Ron Paul founded the Campaign for Liberty with a portion of the over $4.7 million left from his presidential campaign, and it is also currently funded through donations by both mail and the internet.

    Purpose

According to Ron Paul, the purpose of the Campaign for Liberty is to continue the principles that invoked the grassroots support of his campaign, and to also be able to continue the message that he promoted during the course of his bid, without having a presidential campaign, and is also intended to "lay the groundwork for a different America."

Paul also noted, “ The time has come to act on these words. May future generations look back on our work and say that these were men and women who, in a moment of great crisis, stood up to the politicians, the opinion-molders, and the establishment, and saved their country. â€

Ron Paul is one of the most honest men in government today, a truthsayer which is something we have not seen in the last eight years. The best Obama could do is to have him as an advisor.

I'm not a big Dr. Phil person but I like the saying......and hows that working for ya?

Bushes plan wasn't working. I thought we lost it with Regan, but supposidly more thought it was great. I KNEW in my heart and soul it wouldn't work.......I was living high on the hog then and I knew no-one was going to pass anything down. If great is good, better is more ....or whatever that saying was. It was based on moral values......what you should do......what you should want to do....but hey, we weren't dealing with people all working from the same page. I watched a wonderful person crumble before my eyes because of the greed. His famous line to me was.......it's technically unethical but not illegal. Lets see....if you can't impress them with your intelligence, then baffle them with bull-shit. And he was a master. His saying for his clinic was....."A dream who's time has come"......his rules were....people are basicly stupid and need to be told what to do. Act like you know what you're doing and they will follow. Gotta give them something tangible to take home with them so they think their money went for something......even if it's just a piece of paper that says, sleep 8 hrs. and eat 3 meals a day. I went to seminars where the con game was taught! I mean placement of furniture, color selection, on down the line.......

I saw the same rules with retail......change the store around all the time to make sure people never get comfortable with a store. Candy at the check out a mistake?? Oh no......that's planned. They expect your kid to go bonkers so you pay them off while your waiting in line. Basic staples at the far corners of the store? Planned. Concern for elderly or sick......not a chance......that's why expiration dates are tiny and sometimes located by the pharmacy for "your convience" so they can sell expired or close to expired goods when you are sick and can't bother with the details. I don't care if you are going for milk, bread, diapers or dog food.......you travel the entire store to do so. Bath soap is in the pharmacy, but toliet paper is at the other end in grocery. Dish soap is here, kitchen sponges and cloths are at the other side....toys and candy dotted all along the way for the "children". Seriously....I trucked the entire Wal-Mart store for bread, milk and dog food. Bread in front, milk in back and dog food at the other end of the store.. I could easily be a sick person just going for my script, milk and a box of kleenex and STILL have to travel the entire store to get it..

Know the game. And trust me.....it's a game. It's a con and they are counting on you to react, not act, on your way through. If it's this good at the ground level.....imagine what it's like on the high ones.
