LAREDO, Texas — The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday its officers seized $2.6 million worth of marijuana found in a furniture shipment.

CBP said its officers found a ton of marijuana when they pulled over a truck at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday.

Officers used high-tech scanning equipment and drug-sniffing dogs and found 408 bundles containing 2,685 pounds of marijuana hidden within the commercial shipment, according to a news release from the agency.

No arrests were made and the investigation continues.
