Halliburton Co., the Houston-based oil drilling firm, is on a hiring binge with plans to add 11,000 people to payrolls in North America this year, Jim Brown, president of the company’s Western Hemisphere, told CNBC’s Jim Cramer this week.

Brown said the company is seeking engineers of all sorts, as well as MBAs and people with hard sciences, biology, chemistry and physics backgrounds.
