A Hoffman Estates man faces a drug charge after police said methamphetamine was found in his car when he was stopped Friday for speeding on Interstate Highway 65 near Lowell, Ind.

Kevin Lozano, 21, was jailed in Lake County, Ind., on a charge of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, said a spokesman for the Lake County sheriff's police. Twenty-four 1-pound bags of meth, with a street value of $1.2 million, were found in a hidden compartment in the back seat of the car, the spokesman said.

When an officer checked the license plates on Lozano's 1998 Buick, they were found to be fictitious, the spokesman said. Lozano then gave permission for officers to search his car.
