Ron Paul warns of US 'empire' dream

Paul warns of US 'empire' dream

    Wed, 25 Feb 2009 18:10:31 GMT

Congressman Paul (R - TX) says the policies of US military interventions around the globe do not change.

US congressman Ron Paul says US military interventions around the world show that American politicians are in pursuit of a "world empire".

US statesmen from both sides of the aisle "are all interventionists, they all believe in the world empire," said the outspoken Republican congressman in an interview with Russia Today.

Paul made the remarks when asked about President Barack Obama's decision to assign 17,000 American troops to Afghanistan contingents.

The Texas congressman called Obama's decision an "outrage", saying the US has suffered "the most because we're paying for our foreign intervention overseas."

"But foreign policies don't change; it doesn't change with Democrats or Republicans," Paul said.

Afghanistan has been the scene of daily violence since the 2001 invasion of US-led forces who have been seeking to to capture al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and 'defeat' terrorism by removing the Taliban regime.

President Obama has vowed to change the direction of the 'war on terror' by lowering US military presence in Iraq and focusing on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The president says the surge in Afghanistan is "necessary to stabilize a deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, which has not received the strategic attention, direction and resources it urgently requires."

According to White House officials, further decisions on sending more troops to Afghanistan will come after the administration completes a broader review of its policy in the war-torn country.

    Ron Paul The Lone Congressman

Ron Paul is one of the few politicians that actually speaks the truth about this economy and our monetary system. Mr. Paul recently tried to enact legislation that would remove the Federal Reserve, which of course didn't get very far.

Ron Paul is a backer of gold and silver and he has most of his own money invested in the precious metals and mining stocks. He's been very generous by providing the average person with information on true monetary value.

The only way of surviving this depression is to protect yourself by owning precious metals. Buying physical gold coins is not a speculative investment in this economic environment. In the past holding a 10% investment in gold was considered a smart hedge against inflation, but now gold and other precious metals should make up the majority of your portfolio.

What's interesting is that a very small percentage of US Citizens actually own physical gold. If the gold and silver ETF's didn't exist most people wouldn't even pay attention to the gold and silver markets.

Anyone that has ever held a gold coin in their hand understands the difference between the gold coin and paper fiat. It's hard to detach people from the paper structure they grew up with, and unfortunately the majority of people that keep their money in paper will eventually become poor. The following article shows just how much demand there is for gold coins.....
