Whatever planet Sheila Jackson comes from, I think we should probably cut off US aid. We don't need any more wacky aliens like her coming to visit us and share their particular vision of planet earth.

Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee - who once famously asked where she could find photos of the American flag that Neil Armstrong planted on Mars - yesterday insisted, in stark defiance of basic facts of history, that "today we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working. We may not agree with all that North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace." She went on to implicitly blame Republicans for this, but Gateway Pundit points out http://tinyurl.com/2fzbhcn that the incident was far from the dumbest thing Jackson Lee did yesterday. The congresswoman also linked the Tea Party to the KKK in a talk with the NAACP:

And I thank you professor very much. I'm going to be engaging you with those very powerful numbers that you have offered on what the tea party recognizes, uh, or is recognized as. Might I add my own P.S.?All those who wore sheets a long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing [applause], uh, clothing, uh, with a name, say, I am part of the tea party.

Jackson is obviously not from Mars - otherwise she would have known all about the flag that Neil Armstrong planted there. My guess is she's not from our solar system. Only someone who can manipulate the space-time continuum would think that North and South Vietnam are existing "side by side.

BTW - you tea partiers better remove your tea party clothing. We wouldn't want to mistake you for Kluxers.

Dem Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee Wants to Help Arm Hugo Chavez

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) continues to do her best to lay to rest any doubts that the Democrat Party is actively hostile to the USA and effectively in league with our foreign enemies. Her latest: she wants to lift a ban on selling parts for F-16 fighter jets to Venezuela, an ally of Iran and Cuba that is vehemently hostile to the USA.

Jackson Lee wants to show that "Venezuela has many friends in this new Congress" — as do all hostile regimes.

Ever see one of those contests where a shopper gets to keep whatever she can pile into her grocery cart in a set amount of time? That's Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez on a weapons-buying spree at Russia's Mayhem Mart. He also has nuclear ambitions; his friend Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will soon be able to help him out in this department. Then there is the possibility of biological weapons…

All this weaponry will come in handy as Chavez continues his efforts to export socialism and undermine democracy throughout Latin American. Sooner or later he will manage to force the conflict with the USA that he has been so loudly demanding. Parts for fighters will come in handy when he gets the chance to back up his noisy rhetoric by actually killing some Americans.

Dems support the troops, all right. They just don't support our troops.

[UPDATE]: Ace of AoSHQ makes a point about the Congressional Record that I no longer have to get around to making, and Allahpundit of Hot Air lets us know that this was not the dumbest thing Rep. Jackson-Lee said today.

Lot's of Vietnamese Americans live in Houston, don't know why one of them doesn't run against her, even as a Democrat.
