Pentagon calls mystery missile ‘unexplained,’ cannot rule out threat

The Pentagon said Tuesday that a missile launch off the southern coast of California remained “unexplainedâ€

Probably just an undocumented surface to air missile. They should just find out who launched it and allow them to pay a fine, promise to learn to speak English, and keep on with their activities.

There are lots of amateur rocket builders in the U.S. I suspect that's what was witnessed. Some are quite big and travel thousands of feet into the air.

The Navy has a missile range out there and a couple of island bases they conduct tests from (San Nicolas and San Clemente).

If that's a hobbyist, my hat is off to him. Sparklers are all I can confidently handle.

Betsy, there are other hobbyists that create elaborate setups that can literally travel to the edge of space. Pretty impressive.

I believe you, they just made it sound like an ICBM or something.

Local investigation shows that this was a very large missile, probably an intercontinental ballistic missile,
fired from a sub off the coast.

The SoCal Militia now has subs and missiles ?

This was no amateur Estes model rocket

Believe me , they know exactly what it was

They just have to figure out a way to explain it to the public , and the fact that they are taking their time means it was something bad

Does North Korea have subs? I"m sure they do

Picture the scenario if it was discovered it was N Korean or Iranian , or a moby Bin Laden

It's impossible for a foreign sub to get that close, our Navy has anti-sub patrol planes and sono buoys up and down the coast. I think it was a top secret US Navy or other military missile test. Or they shot one off by accident. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... t-mugu.htm
