Arizona governor says China trade trip going well

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is calling a state trade mission to China a success.

She says it's paving the way for new business recruitment contacts that will help the state's economy.

Brewer spoke with Arizona reporters by telephone late Wednesday while waiting for a flight from Beijing to Hong Kong as the trip nears its completion. Others on the trip include representatives of the Arizona Commerce Authority and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

She says Chinese business leaders and government officials have been very welcoming and done a lot of research about Arizona and its economic development efforts.

Brewer says Arizona officials now have solid opportunities to pursue the new contacts.

She says the Arizona delegation's trip has been "very successful, and the rewards will be high."

I like Jan Brewer, but we should stop ALL trade with China as long as we have a trade deficit with them. Actually, we should not trade with them at all, since the money they receive from us finances their military and helps them to build aircraft carriers that will ultimately be used against us.
