Christine O’Donnell Takes Lead Over RINO Mike Castle
Mike Castle's approval rating has plummeted
POLL: Christine O’Donnell Takes Lead Over Mike Castle in Delaware Senate Race
Monday, September 13, 2010
Levi Russell, Tea Party Express
(WILMINGTON, DE) - Confirming poll results from a Tea Party Express commissioned poll last week (which showed Mike Castle leading Christine O’Donnell by just a 43%-41% margin), a new poll shows Conservative Republican Christine O’Donnell continuing her surge in the Delaware U.S. Senate race.
A new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey released Sunday evening shows O’Donnell has in fact now surged into the lead over liberal Mike Castle.
The poll results were as follows:
Christine O’Donnell: 47%
Mike Castle: 44%
The poll also showed 55% of likely Republican voters think Mike Castle is ‘too liberal’ which echoes the message the Tea Party Express has delivered via hundreds of thousands of dollars in TV, radio, newspaper and online ads - as well as 80,000 mailers delivered to Delaware Republican households. You can see these ads by the Tea Party Express below.
Furthermore, among those Republicans who consider themselves part of the tea party movement (estimated by PPP to be 25%) O’Donnell leads Castle 79%-18%.

O'Donnell Takes Lead Despite GOP Attacks
Monday, 13 Sep 2010 01:58 PM
By: David A. Patten
An all-out effort by the GOP establishment to propel Rep. Mike Castle ahead of insurgent senatorial candidate Christine O'Donnell has infuriated tea party leaders, who blast the party's effort to give Castle the advantage as "absolutely outrageous."
Castle enjoys committed support from both the national and state GOP parties, in part owing to polls showing he would be a double-digit favorite over Democrat Chris Coons in November. Polls show O'Donnell, a grass-roots movement conservative who has won the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express organization, could face an uphill battle against Coons to fill the seat that once belonged to Vice President Joe Biden.
Whether Castle will survive Tuesday's primary to compete in the general election, however, appeared very much in doubt Monday.
Just as relative unknown Joe Miller shocked incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska's GOP primary, it now appears O'Donnell could be on the verge of a David vs. Goliath upset over Castle.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, O’Donnell credited Joe Miller's insurgent victory over incumbent GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska with breathing new life into her campaign.

O’Donnell Rips State, National GOP for Going 'Nasty'
Monday, 13 Sep 2010 10:53 AM
By: Dan Weil
Christine O’Donnell, the Republican Delaware Senate candidate backed by the tea party, ripped her Republican opponent and the state and national GOP for mounting "a negative and nasty campaign" against her, The Hill reports. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/sen ... -campaignq
In an interview with the paper, she said, "My opponent knows this race has serious national implications, and they're scared," speaking of Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Castle.
"They went too negative too quickly. That's what I've been hearing from voters all day today."
Meanwhile, Castle went after the Tea Party Express for its $300,000 in financial support for O’Donnell. "This is the first election I can remember in Delaware where a campaign is being funded almost entirely by out-of-state interests," he said.
The state Republican Party has repeatedly attacked O'Donnell in recent days. Party Chairman Tom Ross judged her unelectable.

Poll Shows O’Donnell Leading Castle
Poll Shows O’Donnell Leading Castle
Monday, 13 Sep 2010 11:13 AM
Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell has swung into the lead over her primary opponent Rep. Mike Castle in the latest Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey – 47 percent to 44 percent, Politico reports. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0910/42049.html
Castle has been favored for months, and in August 60 percent of Delaware Republicans favored him.
That support has plunged to 43 percent. "That's largely a product of 55 percent of voters in his party saying they think he's too liberal," PPP's Tom Jensen wrote.
O’Donnell, who is supported by tea party activists but opposed by the state and national GOP, benefits from a 62 percent support level from conservatives. "That's more than enough to propel her to the overall lead," Jensen wrote.
