    Health care nightmare

At least there are some in DC that understand what a nightmare this health care bill is. Just like cap and trade it is another form of government control and more tax on the people. We have bills out there the are taking over our water, food and now they want to control who lives and who dies. They don't want old people to get care. To the elites they are just useless eaters. When you finally realize what the people really are to them, cattle, then it makes you understand why they don't give a damn. They want to thin the herd!

The only cause for concern is if Illegal Aliens are covered in the plan.

White House wants more power to set Medicare rates
    Jul 17 03:43 PM US/Eastern

WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House is asking Congress to give the executive branch more power to limit Medicare's rising costs.

A White House letter to top lawmakers on Friday said the move would be "a critical step forward" in controlling health care costs and providing better care.

The proposal would allow an independent advisory board to recommend changes in Medicare reimbursement rates for doctors, hospitals and other providers. If the president approved the recommendations, Congress could still vote to reject them altogether. But Congress could not approve some recommendations and reject others.

Currently, Medicare reimbursement rates vary from region to region. Key lawmakers often get involved in setting local rates, a practice the Obama administration plan would end.

Boo Hoo...Doctors wages may take a hit. Just as I believe that politicians don't deserve to become millionaires because of their connections I also believe that the medical professions are highly over paid.

I cannot understand why AARP is supporting Obama's Health Care bill. Obama is going to take from Medicare to help pay for his ObamaCare and then not provide medical care for seniors, just let them die after a certain age. I will never ever join AARP.

AARP used to represent the 50 plus American population.

Skippy, I had the same concern with AARP, I used to be a member before they tried to influence it's members to vote for the Kenyan.

Well ratbstard, I know first hand the hardship and sacrifice that it takes to become a doctor. I was married to one and went through pre-med, medical school and residency with him. We ate plenty of rice and beans! Health care cost did not start to get out of control until the ppos, hmos, etc. got started. If anyone gets paid to much it is attorneys! So next time you are in an accident and your life is on the line, why don't you call and attorney to save your life!

    http://www.prwatch.org/cmd/bios.php/Wendell_Potter

Wendell Potter has served since May 2009 as CMD's Senior Fellow on Health Care. After a 20-year career as a corporate public relations executive, last year he left his job as head of communications for one of the nation's largest health insurers to try his hand at helping socially responsible organizations -- including those advocating for meaningful health care reform -- achieve their goals.

Based in Philadelphia, Wendell now provides strategic communications counsel and planning services as an independent consultant. He also speaks out on both the need for a fundamental overhaul of the American health care system and on the dangers to American democracy and society of the decline of the media as watchdog, which has contributed to the growing and increasingly unchecked influence of corporate PR.

Before his big switch, Wendell held a variety of positions at CIGNA Corporation over 15 years, serving most recently as head of corporate communications and as the company's chief corporate spokesman.

Prior to joining CIGNA, Wendell headed communications at Humana Inc., another large for-profit health insurer. Before that he was director of public relations and advertising for The Baptist Health System of East Tennessee. He also has been a partner in an Atlanta public relations firm, a press secretary to a Democratic nominee for governor of Tennessee and as a lobbyist in Washington for the organizers of the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tenn. He also served as a member of the public relations and international marketing team for the Fair and traveled to Europe, Africa and South America on country recruitment missions.

Wendell also was a journalist. His first job after college was as a reporter for Scripps-Howard's afternoon paper in Memphis. He wrote about Memphis businesses and local government before being sent to Nashville to cover the governor's office and state legislature. Two years later he was promoted to the Scripps-Howard News Bureau in Washington where he covered Congress, the White House and the Supreme Court and wrote a weekly political column.

Wendell is a native of Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he received a B.A. degree in communications and did postgraduate work in journalism and public relations. He holds an APR, which means he is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America, and is still a proud dues-paying member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Press Club in Washington.

Yes, healthcare providers are totally overpaid but some of the insanity they provide for healthcare is insane. With my elderly mom, a simple visit to her doctor, Medicare is charged $231 for five minutes where he listens to her heart and lungs, pats her on the head and writes a presciption. Medicare dismisses most of the charges, pays a bit and her supplemental picks up the last $17.
Why did she get a speech therapist after an operation on her stomach which neither she nor the family agreed to or knew about until it was over? Guess the Mercedes payment was due.
Why does my BP medicine go up about $5 bucks every year, except for the greed of the big pharma company, who probably manufactures offshore?
And to throw illegal aliens into the mix would be our bankruptcy.

AARP is just as corrupt as Obama and that is why they are supporting it. It is all a ploy to try to turn US into blind sheeple who will just go along with everything they try to shove down our throats!!
