Nissan is recalling 134,215 Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes over an issue that can prevent the front passenger airbag from deploying, according to a notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall affects G35 sedans made between March 29, 2004, and Aug. 25, 2006; and G35 coupes made from April 1, 2004, to May 30, 2007, NHTSA said.

Infiniti is the luxury division of Nissan.

According to the recall notice, the problem stems from movement in a wiring harness, which can lead to wear and oxidation of sensor terminals that detect if a passenger is in the front seat. If the signal is interrupted, the airbag can fail to deploy.

Nissan spokesman Colin Price told Reuters that no injuries or accidents have been reported due to the issue, and that most of the affected vehicles in the United States, with some others in South Korea, Canada, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Guam and the Middle East.

Price said that if the connection is disrupted, a red warning light will be displayed on the dash. If that happens, you are advised to take your car to an Infiniti dealer

If you own one of these vehicles, expect a formal notice from Nissan “soonâ€
