There is a constant thread in Mexican complaints regarding the United States that rural farmers are suffering from US government subsidies on corn. I have argued that the best way of struggling against this is adding value on Mexican farms instead of their shipping bulk gain. However on reflection there is another factor involved as the cost of a good anywhere is part production and part shipment. Mexico has large subsidies on fuel and so assists getting American corn to Mexican buyers. If they truly wish to assist Mexican farmers instead of going after American grain subsidies perhaps they should deal with Mexico's own subsidy for their truckers over their farmers first.
