The five Republicans and one Democratic member of Orange County’s congressional delegation all had substantially more cash on hand than their opponents as of the end of last year, according to Federal Election Commission reports filed over the weekend.

And in the one primary where an incumbent is not involved - the GOP race to face Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Santa Ana, Assemblyman Van Tran is comfortably ahead of businessman Quang Pham in the money-raising department.

Rep. Ed Royce, R-Fullerton, continues to lead the delegation in campaign cash in his treasury. Royce, who has no opponent in his race so far, raised $843,843 in 2009, including $371,793 from Political Action Committees (PACs). Royce reported having $2.7 million cash on hand as of the end of the year.

* Rep. Gary Miller, R-Diamond Bar, raised $237,072 last year, including $118,500 from PACs. As of Dec. 31 he had $950, 192 cash on hand. Candidates can have more cash on hand than they raised because they can carry contributions over from a previous election.

Miller’s primary opponent, Lee McCroarty, has raised $9,050, including $2,700 that he put into the campaign. He received no PAC money and had $1,550 cash on hand.
