As the days of the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen continue to countdown, signs of chaos continue to predominate. Tensions between the First World and Third World nations — typified by the clashes between the American and Chinese delegations — have highlighted the central point: The conference is about power and money, not saving the environment. What has been at stake all along has been an effort to fundamentally alter the global economy, transferring the wealth of the developed world to poorer nations, and stunting the industrial growth of all nations of the world, under the far-from-benevolent hand of the United Nations.
