Stimulus package faces Senate procedural vote

WASHINGTON (AP) - The economic stimulus package is poised to move forward in the Senate today. The $827 billion package seems assured to clear a key procedural hurdle, but not by much. Just three Republicans are expected to join Democrats in supporting the package, barely giving it the 60 votes needed.

Most Republicans will vote no, unhappy not only at the pricetag, but also that they weren't more involved in putting the package together.

Final Senate approval will set the stage for what could be tough negotiations to iron out differences with the House over tax cuts and spending.

Republican congressional leaders and a key House Democrat are voicing misgivings - but for different reasons - over the Senate version of an economic recovery plan costing more than $800 billion.

Sen. John Ensign of Nevada and Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, both members of Republican leadership teams, complain that the legislation has too much spending and not enough in tax cuts.

A top House Democrat, Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, says the Senate bill cuts spending necessary to protect the jobs of policemen and firefighters.

The Senate cut $40 billion in aid to state governments contained in a House version of the legislation.

The Senate is expected to pass its bill on Tuesday. It then has to be reconciled with the House version.

These corrupt Mexican government, drug cartel, big labor, union, corporate, Chamber of Commerce owned and controlled wastes of oxygen, space , tax payer dollar thugs euphemistically called congress care only about placating all their above masters for returning those skunks to office which is the ONLY reason this stimulus crap sandwich is being shoved down our alimentary canals and up our posteriors. They voice the same tired rhetoric of their concern for unemployed Americans and invoke all manner of statistics in an attempt to lend more credence to their assertions of economic calamity if this pile of manure isn't stuffed down our throats. But they conveniently omit any provisions as e-verify to ensure any jobs and benefits go ONLY to US citizens. They brought in 132,000 foreign worker (H1B) visas in December while 552,000 Americans lost their jobs in that time frame and plan to import another 4 million foreign workers in the next 3 to 4 years.This chicanery amounts to deception at the least and stealing from the American people at most. This bill will provide stimulus payments, jobs and other benefits including health care, welfare, food stamps, education and other assistance to millions who violated our laws, borders, sovereignty and use stolen identities while leaving out our veterans whose sacrifices allow those skunks in the cesspool of filth and corruption called DC to maintain their phony baloney jobs of perpetuating the open borders and cheap labor agenda. This bill will reward organizations as ACORN who tried to undermine our Democratic process through massive voter fraud and currently is under investigation for this in 13 states. It will provide funding for various special interests as a panel manned by the son of David Obey (the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee).
Suffering and struggling Americans are about to have the wool pulled over their eyes by a congress who claims to have their best interests in mind by claiming this crap sandwich will extricate them from the abyss of recession but in reality is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on taxpayers by the biggest fraud of a congress ever who cares only about those special interests who they serve for open borders and cheap labor while they leave the American people to tumble in midstream.........
