Organization may not seem like an important aspect of prepping, but you need to organize your survival stockpile and the rest of your home if you want to be an efficient prepper.

Categorize your emergency supplies
If you're overwhelmed with organizing your home and preps, start by making a list of where your food stockpile, stored water and other preps are located.
Next, try to organize closets or your stockroom using these eight general categories:
- Clothing, such as extra clothes for bug-out bags and protective gear (work gloves, neon yellow safety vest, etc.)
- Emergency kit food, such as energy bars or MREs (meals, ready-to-eat)
- Emergency light sources, such as candles, flashlights, light sticks, headlamps, etc.
- Energy sources, such as batteries, battery packs and solar chargers
- First aid kits and other medical supplies
- General survival gear, such as paracord, multitools, etc.
- Outdoor and camping supplies, such as mess kits
- Water purification
After unpacking everything in a drawer or the closet, you can decide how to store them according to the categories. Each prepper's categories might be different, but the important thing is to gather all items in one place so you can make an inventory and start sorting.
Once you store all items in bins or their respective packaging or boxes, stack them properly so you can easily see all the labels.

If your emergency supplies and preps are scattered throughout your house, you might want to store most of them in one location. Doing so makes it easier to sort them by category. It's also easier to find items for specific situations.
Tips for organizing your emergency supplies
If you have a lot of gear and supplies, you should organize everything before SHTF. This ensures that no time is wasted when you need to bug out or find a specific item during different emergencies.
There are different ways of organizing, but sorting similar items by category and storing them in containers should work for most of your prepping needs.
Assemble all items in one place. This pile will include all your emergency supplies and preps. It's also better to separate the largest items from the smaller items, but it can wait if you want to store them separately in other locations.
Use these categories to sort all items in separate piles:
- Clothing
- Emergency kit food
- Emergency Light sources
- Energy sources
- First aid and medical supplies
- General survival
- Outdoor and camping supplies
- Water purification
Once all items are sorted into these categories, identify additional categories for the remaining items if needed. If you can't, store these items in a separate container marked "miscellaneous."
Figure out what kind of containers you'll need for each category and how large those containers need to be. You don't need to have matching or color-coordinated containers unless you are using them for easy identification. Fill and label each container of supplies.
If you have a closet or a spare room for storage, move the organized supplies there and use sturdy shelving if you have them.
Once you're done, restock any items that you need more of before SHTF.

According to the Micronutrient Information Center at Oregon State University, Americans are struggling to get enough vitamins in their bodies. Vitamin C is readily obtained from citrus fruits, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes. It’s also highly concentrated in acerola cherries, camu camu, and amalaki berries.
Vitamin B6 deficiency is found in 15% of the population. Signs include numbness, brain fog, and confusion. Some of the best sources of B6 include fish, organ meats, potatoes, and non-citrus fruits. The Health Ranger Mike Adams discussed spikenard as God's anointing and medicinal oil during his 36th sermon, part of his 100 Sermons series for the Church of Natural Abundance.
He based his sermon on the Gospel of John – in particular Jesus' anointing by Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus (John 12:1-8. The anointing happened in Bethany, when Mary took a pound of spikenard oil and applied it to His feet. She then wiped Jesus' feet with her hair, "and the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil."
A passage from the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament (Song of Solomon 4:13-15) also mentions spikenard. The source of spikenard, the perennial herb Nardostachys jatamansi, is a member of the valerian family (genus Valeriana) and originally came from the Himalayas.
According to Adams, spikenard was used as an anointing oil as seen in the Gospel of John. "This spikenard oil is eternally famous for being the oil that anointed Christ in his last days before he was crucified," he said. But outside of this use, it also possesses very important medicinal properties.
Dr. James A. Duke, in his book "Herbs of the Bible," said spikenard is beneficial in treating many health issues such as cramps, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, leprosy and painful menstruation.
The Bible nutrition educator also mentioned that an infusion made from spikenard rhizomes is useful in treating epilepsy, hysteria, heart palpitations and chorea. Spikenard rhizome also contains a compound that promotes hair growth and blackens hair color. The roots themselves are used to treat bad complexion, blood disorders, fever, leprosy, skin ailments, throat disorders and ulcers, while tea made from spikenard roots was used for cardiac and nervous disorders.
Spikenard essential oil calms the nerves and fights pathogens
Spikenard oil exhibits antiarrythmic activity, which helps treat auricular flutter (abnormal heartbeat in the heart's upper chambers). It also exerts a hypotensive effect, reducing hypertension (high blood pressure) in moderate doses. Spikenard tincture is also given for intestinal colic and flatulence, Adams added.
But spikenard's healing power comes from its ability to calm the nerves. It has a distinct depressant action on the central nervous system, and it relaxes the skeletal and soft tissue muscles.
Adams cited a March 2013 study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine about spikenard in Indian Ayurvedic medicine. The study zoomed in on N. jatamansi and Selinum vaginatum, respectively called jatamansi and bhootkeshi in Ayurveda. According to the paper, these two herbs are "used in various traditional herbal formulations and nutraceuticals, as well as to treat neurological disorders like epilepsy, hysteria, convulsions and mental weakness."
Valerian root or valerian herb extract addresses seizures and calms the nervous system, which may explain why spikenard was used medicinally in the Bible. Duke also mentioned in his work that the spikenard fights bacteria, fungi and inflammation – with Adams pointing out its potential to address urinary tract infections and serve as first aid for wounds. It also works as a deodorant, a laxative and a sedative.

Dough ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (add more as needed)
- 1 cup milk
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 envelope Fleischmann's® Active Yeast
Boiling solution:
Steps:
- Heat the milk and butter until warm, ideally between 100 to 110 F. It's fine if the butter doesn't completely melt. In a large mixer bowl, combine the milk and butter mixture with the undissolved brown sugar and yeast. Make sure the liquid is not too hot because this will kill the yeast. Check below for instructions on how to proof yeast.
- Stir in the salt and two cups of flour, then beat the mixture for at least three minutes. Slowly add some of the remaining flour until you have a soft dough.
- Move the dough to a floured surface, then knead it until it becomes smooth and elastic. This may take about eight to ten minutes. Alternatively, you can save time by using a dough hook in a mixer.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl then cover it. Set it aside and let it rise for about 1 ½ hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 350 F.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the boiling solution. Combine three quarts of water with 3/4 cup of baking soda and bring the mixture to a boil.
- After the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and divide it into eight equal pieces. Roll each piece into a tight, smooth ball.
- Boil each dough ball in the boiling solution for two minutes. Turn each ball after one minute.
- After the dough balls are boiled, use a slotted spoon to remove them from the pot. Place the loaves on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake the loaves for 20 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 F or continue baking until the loaves are evenly browned.

How to proof yeast for the recipe
Proofing yeast refers to the process of activating the dormant yeast cells, which need to be alive for the dough. This step is essential for achieving bread with the perfect rise and texture.

Ingredients for proofing yeast:
- One envelope of active yeast
- Warm water or milk (Must be at least 110 F.)
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
Keep the water between 100 and 110 F. Using water that's too hot can kill the yeast, and water that's too cold won't activate it properly.
Use a kitchen thermometer to check the water temperature.
Steps:
- Dissolve the yeast in the warm liquid mix.
- Gently stir to allow the warm water to moisten all the yeast granules. Stirring also helps dissolve any clumps.
- Wait for bubbles to form. Set aside the yeast and let it rest for at least five to ten minutes. You will notice the yeast start to activate as tiny bubbles form on the surface. At this point, the mixture will also become frothy and have a yeasty aroma.
- After five to ten minutes, check the yeast mixture. The yeast is proofed if the mixture has turned frothy and is filled with bubbles. If you don't see any activity, it's possible that the yeast has expired or the water temperature was not within the optimal range.
After the yeast is proofed, continue with the rest of the pretzel bread recipe. Using the active yeast will help the dough rise and produce pretzel bread with perfect texture and flavor.

Considered a seed fruit, avocados are unique in that nearly 80% of their total calories come from fat, a significantly higher percentage than is found in other fruits. Nutritionally dense, one-third of a medium-size avocado has 80 calories as well as the recommended daily allowance of fat for most Americans.[1]
Thought to have originated in Mexico, the modern avocado tree spread throughout Central and South America as far back as 10,000 years ago. Varieties of the tree are now grown in Mediterranean and tropical climates around the globe. Besides the delicious boost avocados provide to your daily nutrient intake, this fatty fruit touts an impressive catalog of scientifically-backed health benefits. Here are five of the top reasons to add avocados to your life!
Protection from cardiovascular disease
One of the first things many medical professionals prescribe when a patient is at risk for heart disease are dietary interventions aimed at reducing fat intake. Despite this conventional "wisdom", the high-fat avocado is among the most heart-friendly of all foods. A 2012 study conducted at UCLA Center for Human Nutrition observed the bodily effects of eating a plain hamburger--considered an offender on the heart-healthy food list--as compared to the effects of eating a hamburger with a large slice of avocado added to the meal. Eleven healthy subjects were fed each of these two meals on two different occasions, after which researchers measured the constriction of blood vessels, or vasoconstriction, a factor indicating states of high blood pressure. The plain hamburger meal resulted in significant vasoconstriction, demonstrating an unhealthy effect on blood pressure, whereas the avocado-topped hamburger meal had no effect on blood pressure at all. Avocado had the effect of neutralizing this negative effect.
Next, researchers analyzed blood cells and found two distinct markers for inflammation after the meal of hamburger only, while these markers were noticeably absent in the blood after the meal including avocado. Finally, researchers found that post-meal fatty triglycerides, high concentrations of which indicate an elevated risk of stroke, did not raise in the avocado group despite the additional fat, whereas these markers did increase in the plain hamburger group. Researchers concluded that eating avocado can have beneficial anti-inflammatory and vascular health effects.
Well-controlled studies are lacking on just how helpful eating avocados can be for reducing cardiovascular disease risk factors. In 2015, a group of researchers sought to close this knowledge gap by recording the effects of three different diets on 45 overweight or obese participants with high cholesterol (LDL-C). All three diets were designed to lower LDL-C, consisting of no more than 7% saturated fatty acids (SFA) among the total daily fat intake. Participants consumed one of three diets: a lower-fat diet (24% fat); a moderate-fat diet (34% fat) including one fresh Hass avocado (136 g) per day; or a moderate-fat diet (34% fat) using high oleic acid oils to match the fatty acid content of one avocado. All three diets provided similar foods--save for the difference in fats--and were matched for macronutrients and fatty acid content. Compared with baseline measurements taken at the start of the study, the reduction in LDL-C and HDL cholesterol was greater on the avocado diet than either of the other two diets. Furthermore, only the avocado diet significantly decreased LDL particle number, small dense LDL cholesterol, and the ratio of LDL/HDL from baseline. Researchers concluded that the inclusion of one avocado per day is a great way to lower cholesterol as part of a moderate-fat, cholesterol-lowering diet. Their praise for avocados did not stop there: "Our results demonstrate that avocados have beneficial effects on cardio-metabolic risk factors that extend beyond their heart-healthy fatty acid profile."
Helps prevent diabetes
When it comes to diabetes, medical science views the two most common types, Type-1 and Type-2, very differently. Type-2, or adult-onset diabetes, is widely acknowledged as a disease of lifestyle, with diet-based interventions accepted as the most effective remedy. Characterized by the latent inability of the body to produce enough insulin, a Type-1 diabetic inherits or develops the condition due to damaged or destroyed pancreatic beta cells--the cells responsible for insulin production. Unlike Type-2 diabetes where the body becomes resistant to its own insulin, Type-1 diabetes can onset due to one or more of various potential causes: autoimmune issues, bacterial or viral infections, incompatible foods in the diet, and chemical exposures, to name but a few major triggers. Considered an incurable disease, Type-1 diabetes must currently be managed with IV-insulin, which itself has been identified to have significant health risks due to the manner in which it is produced.
Despite the pessimistic prognosis from traditional medicine, accumulating scientific research is validating the power of the body to heal itself from so-called incurable diseases when properly supported. The discovery of the beta cell regenerative potential of certain foods and natural compounds has the potential to upstage traditional diabetes treatments and maybe even to someday eradicate this intractable disease. Would you be surprised to learn that avocados possess this cellular rejuvenation potential? Perhaps unsurprisingly, the highest concentration of this power is found in the seed.
Sometimes called "alligator pears" due to their dark, bumpy skin and teardrop shape, avocados produce large seeds that contain numerous medicinal properties. While the seed itself is not typically consumed, it's the ideal place to look for medicine as it contains concentrated amounts of potent antioxidants and phytochemicals found in the flesh of the fruit. In 2007, a group of researchers looked to the avocado to analyze effect on blood glucose levels. The study found that when fed to both diabetic and non-diabetic rats, avocado seed extract significantly reduced blood sugar, with the greatest impact observed in diabetic rats. Avocado seed extract produced an overall normalizing effect on blood sugar. Potentially more exciting is the effect that was observed on pancreatic islet cells. Daily supplementation with avocado seed extract had a restorative and overall protective effect on pancreatic islet cells, where the all-important beta cells that produce insulin reside. Researchers concluded that consuming avocado seed extract "may contribute significantly to the reduction of blood glucose levels and can be useful in the treatment of diabetes." If you are diabetic, adding avocado to your diet may yield further benefits. A 2015 study concluded that avocado oil can be used to reduce oxidative stress on the liver which frequently accompanies diabetes and traditional diabetic treatments.
Helps prevent cancer
You may not know it, but avocados have therapeutic properties that can even help prevent the big "C"--cancer. Avocados are packed with phytochemicals, biologically active compounds that play a vital role in nutrition and help our bodies resist the onset of disease. Phytochemicals also play an important role in cancer prevention, something that was well-illustrated by the 2007 study aptly name, Avocado fruit has chemopreventive properties. This research showed that when extracted and added to cultures of precancerous and cancer cell lines, avocado fruit phytochemicals were able to arrest the cancer cell growth cycle, inhibit growth, and induce apoptosis--the death of pre-cancer and cancer cells.
A 2005 study focused on another super-nutrient found in avocados: the beneficial carotenoids, responsible for most yellow, orange, and red plant pigments. Carotenoids are attributed with cancer-preventive properties in association with other brightly-colored fruits and vegetables, prompting researchers to isolate these nutrients in avocados in search of similar anticancer properties. They were not disappointed!
The California Hass avocado was selected for this study due to its yellow-green color with associated high-levels of lutein (Latin for "yellow") and related carotenoids, such as alpha-carotene and beta-carotene. Researchers also noted avocado's high-levels of Vitamin E as potentially therapeutic. An acetone extract of avocado was produced containing these various carotenoids and tocopherols and introduced to prostate cancer cells in-vitro. Control groups from the same cell lines were incubated with an extract of lutein-only. Results showed that incubating cancer and precancer cells with avocado extract led to arrest of cancer growth in the cells. An additional observed benefit from avocado extract was an increase in healthy cell protein expression. Lutein alone did not reproduce these effects on cancer cell proliferation. Researchers speculated that the high amounts of monounsaturated fat in the avocado might help the body absorb the bioactive carotenoids into the bloodstream better than when supplementing with carotenoids in isolation. In other words, your body gets a bigger cancer-prevention boost from consuming whole foods like avocados than can be obtained from non-whole food sources. This lends credence to the sage advice that if you want to lower your cancer risk, consume a diet high in colorful fruits and vegetables.
Helps relieve and prevent arthritis
According to researchers at the Musculoskeletal Research Center at University of California-Davis, "Osteoarthritis is a painful and life-altering disease that severely limits the daily activities of millions of Americans and ranks as one of the most common causes of disability in the world."[2] Researchers have set to the task of creating breakthroughs in treatment options, since life-extension practices and rising obesity rates equal more osteoarthritis pain in our nation's future. Much of this research has been focused on the therapeutic potential of a dietary supplement called ASU, short for avocado/soybean unsaponifiables. ASU has proven effective at slowing the progression of osteoarthritis by inhibiting molecules and pathways implicated in the condition.
You may not have heard of this potent dietary intervention, which is hardly surprising considering Western medicine's insistence on drug-based treatments. But researchers have been demonstrating the effectiveness of this avocado-based supplementation for more than two decades. In 1997, a review was published on the efficacy and safety of avocado/soybean unsaponifiables in the treatment of symptomatic osteoarthritis of the knee and hip. The multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was aimed at reducing the need for exposure to unsafe pharmaceutical drugs often included in the treatment protocol for this progressive disease. Participants were given one capsule per day of ASU or a placebo for 90 days. During the first 45 days, patients in both groups were also given one of seven predefined NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). The primary efficacy criteria for this study was the percentage of patients who went back to taking NSAIDs after 45 days, and the delay before re-intake. Results clearly indicated that after six weeks, the patients taking ASU had less need for NSAID pain relief when compared with the placebo group. ASU consumption also had a beneficial effect on functional movement, with the experimental group showing significantly greater overall improvement than the placebo group.
These benefits aren't just reserved for humans! A 2009 study obtained similarly positive results when using ASU to treat arthritis in dogs. Mixed-breed dogs with osteoarthritis were given 10 mg/kg per day of ASU for eight weeks. Results showed that treatment with avocado/soybean unsaponifiables can reduce the development of early osteoarthritic cartilage and bone lesions in patients with osteoarthritis. A 2015 review summarizing current pharmaceutical, non-pharmaceutical, and prospective new treatments for OA, focused on the promising results being obtained with ASU. The beneficial actions of this natural compound include prevention of cartilage degradation, and the promotion of cartilage repair by stimulating collagen. ASU has the potential to correct growth factor abnormalities while decreasing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in synovial fluid, a key indicator of arthritis. Beneficial avocado fatty acids inhibit cholesterol absorption, while anti-inflammatory properties reduce pain and stiffness and improve joint function. Overall, ASU treatment can result in decreased dependence on NSAIDs and pain medication for arthritis sufferers.

Defeating Lyme disease with essential oils

Northern US coastlines, the Mid-Atlantic, Wisconsin, and Minnesota are areas especially prone to Lyme-carrying ticks, though all states are vulnerable. (2) In order to prepare your family for the possibility of tick bites and prevention of Lyme, consider applying a diluted blend of these essential oils in addition to your typical lemon, eucalyptus and citronella oils, for a varied approach that will keep ticks guessing.
1. Clove
Citronella is usually the first that comes to mind when we think of bug repellants, because it is included in most store-bought candles and sprays as the go-to bug repellent. For ticks, though, citronella may not be the first go-to.
Case in point, a 2014 study of the effect that citronella and clove oils have on ticks, clove came out on top. While citronella was reasonably effective, clove outperformed it substantially with over 90% efficacy! (3)
DIY Tip: Clove oil can be used in outdoor diffusions where ticks may be prominent, direct sprays, ground/surface treatments, and diluted in topical prevention applications. Try adding 8 drops of clove essential oil per 1 oz of coconut oil and apply throughout your body before hiking and spending time outdoors.
2. Oregano
Oregano is a popular kitchen herb that has a strong essential oil profile. Known as an antibacterial/antibiotic oil with strong effects on the skin that require dilution, oregano essential oil finds its way into bug control and Lyme prevention, as well.
Sharing major compounds carvacrol and eugenol with clove oil, it has also tested well against ticks in at least one recent study. (4)
As a bonus in topical applications, oregano has antibacterial effects to bring to the table – important when Lyme is a bacteria! Topical applications could give you a head start in warding off Lyme before it has a chance to settle in.
DIY Tip: Because oregano can be harsh on skin, be sure to dilute it very well and use it as part of a larger blend.
3. Vetiver
Vetiver and citronella are comparable plants with a similar aroma that can be used in similar ways. And, again, like clove, vetiver essential oil seems to be more effective against ticks than citronella.
In tests against ticks and their larvae, vetiver essential oil was tested for its effectiveness. Whether it is because of resistance built up against the more commonly used treatments or whether vetiver has always been this good, vetiver was able to keep ticks at bay even better than standard treatments. DIY Tip: Mix 30 drops of vetiver in a 16 oz spray bottle with tap water. Spray around the openings to your home (windows, doors, etc.); use diluted topically with clove.
4. Garlic
If you’ve intentionally eaten garlic to keep the vampires and mosquitoes away, you already know about its potent aromatic effects. Researchers looked into this more closely by extracting the essential oil from garlic bulbs to test against ticks. Upon exposure to garlic essential oil, tick mortality rates were nearly 100%! (6)
DIY Tip: If garlic essential oil is not available, consider including a DIY garlic oil infusion in your ground and surface treatments. And when all else fails, some extra homemade fresh garlic bread is always warranted!
DIY Lyme Prevention Plan
You can't go unprotected if you’re going to be in areas of high risk and exposure to ticks. With so many oils appearing more effective than commercial options, it seems essential oil formulations are the smarter choice.
Effective Strategy For Fighting Ticks and Lyme Disease
Keep this simple “lotion” of diluted oils on hand to apply on exposed skin whenever tick exposure will be high. Hikers, campers, and others enjoying outdoor activity that will take you into the woods should be considered at risk. Remember that these oils are powerful, so you should keep them away from your eyes and mouth.
Simply blend:
- 4 oz carrier oil of choice
- 40 drops total of a blend of tick-repelling essential oils (vetiver, clove, oregano, ylang ylang, and some citrus for scent balance are all useful)
- Blend, pour into a glass spritzer bottle, and spray periodically to ankles, arms, etc.
Treating Lyme with Essential Oils
Sometimes, even when we do all we can, the worst happens. Lyme disease can strike at any time, and you should be prepared to find a physician who can work with you in that worst-case scenario. These doctors are referred to as Lyme Literate, and as Dr. Cindee Gardner pointed out in an interview, they still may not be aware of the range of alternative treatments that are available for Lyme.
In Dr. Gardner’s practice, she uses everything from homeopathy to herbs to essential oils. (7) Some of it is directly connected to Lyme as a bacteria, while a lot of it is related to symptom control. You should find these oils beneficial in your plan of attack:
- Chamomile for relaxation and mood
- Vetiver for focus

If you spilled ashes on your clothing or in your hair, rub them away with a dry coffee filter.
Coffee filters can also be used to remove unwanted odors like shoes. If you have a pair of shoes that are smelling funky, place one inside a shoe to absorb unpleasant smells.

Emergency water storage might seem simple for non-preppers, especially if they think all it takes is pouring water into big containers. And while it is not complicated, preppers know how to avoid common mistakes so you don't ruin your entire water supply. (h/t to SkilledSurvival.com)
Water is one prep item that's overlooked.
According to a poll of U.S. adults, at least 53 percent don't have at least three days' worth of non-perishable food and water in their homes. This is bad because when disaster strikes, water and power will be the first two resources to shut down.
Humans can survive for a long time without electricity, but they cannot survive long without water.
Water storage tips
Water storage needs to be protected against viruses, contamination and bacteria, so you must take different measures to protect your water from these threats.
Do not store water in food-grade containers that have previously stored other items. It is difficult to rinse all the sugars and bacteria left over. Trace amounts of sugar or bacteria will taint the water.
Do not store water in cardboard containers. While you can buy bottled water, cardboard containers won't last forever.
Do not store water in metallic containers that aren't stainless steel. Other metals will corrode, and water will go bad. This will result in rusty water that isn't safe for drinking.
Do not store water in containers that cannot be sealed. There are some exceptions, but this is risky because unsealed containers are at risk of contamination. For example, particles from the air, animals and insects can fall into the water.
Do not store water in direct sunlight or heat. Keep all water containers in a shaded, temperature-controlled room if possible. Sunlight, heat and temperature changes are the enemies of long-term water storage and will contribute to spoilage. Additionally, UV rays and heat are hard on plastics. Best containers for water storage
Use containers that have tight-fitting lids or caps to prevent contamination from insects, dust or other pollutants.
Food-grade plastic containers
Plastic is lightweight, durable and cheap. It is also easy to come by and replaceable.
However, plastic also has some disadvantages. Some food scientists have warned that plastic can leach chemicals into water, particularly if the containers are exposed to direct light or heat.
Plastic bladders
With a large plastic bladder, you can easily store a lot of water in your bathtub when SHTF.
Since a plastic water bladder is sealed, you don't have to worry about contamination. Some bags can hold as much as 100 gallons and can be emptied and packed for easy transportation.
55-Gallon plastic drums
55-Gallon plastic drums take up a lot of space and are heavy when full, but they also guarantee that you have one of the most reliable ways to store water for a long time.
Food-grade stainless steel drums
Food-grade stainless steel drums may be the safest bet when it comes to storing water long-term. Steel drums contain no chemicals that can leach into the water.
The drums also protect contents from sunlight, and they are durable. However, steel drums are also the most expensive option.

New research from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that eating just one serving of leafy green vegetables a day takes a decade off an aging brain. Two servings produced even greater effects. I explain how below.

There is considerable evidence that diets that are high in green leafy vegetables; highly-colored vegetables such as carrots, yams, and squash; and flavonoid-rich fruits like citrus, berries, and cherries are associated with prevention of age-related memory decline and Alzheimer’s disease. In particular, two large studies have shown that the consumption of green leafy vegetables, including spinach, kale, collards, and lettuce, had the strongest association with slowing down cognitive decline due to aging.
Exactly which nutrients in green leafy vegetables responsible for this effect is unknown, but it is thought to be the entire payload versus any single nutrient or phytochemical. That said, some studies have shown significant protective effects of individual dietary components against cognitive decline. For example, there are studies that report protective effects against dementia with higher dietary intakes of folate, beta-carotene, lutein, and vitamin K1. However, all of these nutrients have different mechanisms of action in offering protection indicating a synergistic effect is undoubtedly expected.

To increase understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the association, the researchers at Rush investigated the individual relations to cognitive decline of the primary nutrients and bioactives in green leafy vegetables, including vitamin K1 (phylloquinone), lutein, ?-carotene, nitrate, folate, kaempferol, and ?-tocopherol.
The study involved the 960 participants of the Memory and Aging Project, ages 58-99 years, who completed a food frequency questionnaire and had ?2 cognitive assessments over a mean 4.7 years. The data was adjusted for age, sex, education, participation in cognitive activities, physical activities, smoking, and seafood and alcohol consumption. After controlling for these factors, consumption of green leafy vegetables was associated with slower cognitive decline; the decline rate for those in the highest quintile of intake (median 1.3 servings/d) was slower by the equivalent of being 11 years younger in age. Higher intakes of each of the nutrients and bioactives except ?-carotene were individually associated with slower cognitive decline.
The conclusion was very clear, consumption of approximately 1 serving per day of green leafy vegetables and foods rich in phylloquinone, lutein, nitrate, folate, ?-tocopherol, and kaempferol help to slow cognitive decline with aging.

In addition to diet, nutritional supplements are also important. In particular, a high potency multiple vitamin and mineral formula and 1,000 mg of EPA and DHA (combined) from a quality fish oil should be considered foundational supplements. Research has clearly established that B vitamin supplements and EPA+DHA can help prevent mental decline in older people with memory problems. Furthermore, an international team led by Oxford University has now found that having higher levels of these nutrients can actually give the brain a boost in people with mild cognitive function. For his 41st sermon for the Church of Natural Abundance, the Health Ranger Mike Adams touched on the uses and benefits of myrrh.
He based his sermon from the Gospel of St. John, which mentions Nicodemus bringing "a mixture of myrrh and aloes" to embalm and preserve the physical body of Christ. According to the Bible nutrition educator, this was an embalming mixture of resins made up of myrrh and aloes.
It is worth noting that Nicodemus, one of the secret followers of Christ, was involved in an earlier exchange with Jesus – which the gospel writer also mentions. Myrrh is also mentioned in the Bible as one of the three gifts offered by the Magi alongside gold and frankincense (Matthew 2:11).
Aside from being used as a spice, myrrh was used as an ingredient of the anointing oil used in the Tabernacle. It is also used as a perfume, leading to its association with wealth and beauty. Myrrh has also been used as a salve for the purification of the dead, just like how Nicodemus used it to preserve Christ's body.
Winifred Walker, in her 1962 book "All the Plants of the Bible," explained that myrrh in the Old Testament came from rockrose – a small plant that grew among the sand and rocks. The gum collected from the rockrose was then pressed into cakes and used as a perfume. Meanwhile, the New Testament myrrh came in the form of a soft and dark resin collected from a small tree and sold in golden pieces called "tears" or "pearls."

Neurosurgeon Dr. Jack Kruse joined the Health Ranger Mike Adams on "Health Ranger Report" to talk about the body's electric regeneration.The CEO of Kruse Longevity Center in Destin, Florida said mitochondria – the powerhouse of the cells – emit light and act as a photolithography fabrication plant to make proteins in the human body. These proteins form half of the semiconductor system alongside water, and both elements have to work together.
Kruse cited the work of the late Dr. Robert O. Becker (1923-2008), who mentioned that the regeneration or healing in the human body always begins with an electric current, particularly the direct current (DC). The neurosurgeon continued that the DC electric current comes from the sun, and all energy within the body comes externally from the sun – similar to how photosynthesis in plants work.
"There's a process in the body where we are able to take terrestrial sunlight, and they get it down to 1/1000 of a millionth of a current, of DC electric current," Kruse said. "And we use that to differentiate our red blood cells to go back to other stem cells to heal our tissues."
Kruse: Humans have the ability to REGENERATE
Becker believed that there was a process humans could use to regenerate their limbs. He proved it in one of his experiments that showed the ability of humans to regenerate their fingertips. According to Kruse, the fingertip is the only place that humans are actually able to do what salamanders and lizard do with their tails. "If [you] do amputate your fingertip, you can regrow it completely. So, we do have some regenerative ability in us," Kruse continued. "For example, you can amputate a large section of the liver and use that for liver transplantation. We've known that for quite some time, but most of that is also based on some of the work that Becker did."
In the 1960s, Becker talked about the DC system in people being affected by things in the environment. He also warned against placing external electric fields around people due to these fields potentially causing cancer, autoimmune conditions and fulminant (non-healing) infections.
Most of Becker's studies for the military were neither peer-reviewed nor published in the Federal Register. One such study conducted by Becker and his colleague Andrew Marino found that the 765-kilowatt regular electric towers and the power lines they hoist affected the DC electric current, allowing people to regenerate their body. Despite this, the military still refused to address the matter.
Kruse also mentioned that Becker was focused on figuring out the electronic control system of wound healing in mammals – a field he became an expert in. But even though Becker's work was considered new and cutting-edge at the time, it never saw the light of day and was effectively banned by the government. Kruse also lamented the fact that orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons are not using electromagnetic radiation based on Becker's research.
