Arkansas-- “Impeach Obama” Protests Line Drivers Morning Commutes
Posted on: 8:18 am, August 6, 2013, by Josiah Gorham, updated on: 10:12am, August 6, 2013
Protesters were spotted lining up on overpasses across the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas as groups gathered as part of a national protest calling to impeach President Obama.
The protests are part of a national organized movement, “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment.” The group of protesters were seen carrying anti-Obama signs and American flags at interstate overpasses. The protests are scheduled to be held at 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with the goal of catching drivers going to and from work.
In Springdale three of these protesters were spotted at the Elm Springs overpass at I-540 waving a large American Flag.
In the River Valley a dozen protesters could be seen Tuesday morning at the I-40 Lee Creek overpass waving flags and carrying signs.
However, Arkansas State Police told the protesters they had to move away from the Lee Creek overpass around 8 a.m. Tuesday because it is a two-lane interstate. ASP told protesters they could not congregate unless it was at a four-lane interstate.
Around 8:15 a.m. Lee Creek protesters moved their protests to the Van Buren Welcome Center.

Hundreds of Anti-Obama Protests Planned for Today
by Keith Koffler on August 6, 2013, 7:02 am
Hundreds of anti-Obama protests are being staged today nationwide, as the grassroots group Overpasses for Impeachment takes to the bridges above highways in cities and towns around the country to call for President Obama’s removal from office. Thousands are expected to participate.
http://www.whitehousedossier.com/wp-...-2-300x225.jpgThe group, which began in June and has spread to every state in the union, will be wielding banners and U.S. flags and making plenty of noise on overpasses during rush hour – morning and afternoon.
Twenty two protests are planned throughout Florida alone. Other leading states include Georgia, which will stage 19, California, with 14, a dozen each in South Carolina and Connecticut, and eight in Texas.
The group’s website lists numerous grounds it says merit Obama’s impeachment. But, with little chance of Congress acting to try to remove the president based on currently known facts, today’s “Patriot Wave” day of protests seem more an outlet to show displeasure with Obama than an actual drive to impeach him.
The organization, which has been built from a Facebook campaign that started with a national page and now includes pages for each state, has already staged dozens of appearances on overpasses around the country since June and plans to aggressively continue the practice after today’s mass event.

Lane County, Oregon--Overpasses Against Obama: “I Think Our President’s a Crook!”
Bright and early Tuesday morning, three hearty local citizens were protesting on the I-5 footbridge near Gateway Mall as part of the national “Wave” of overpass protests calling for the impeachment of President Obama.

“I think our president’s a crook! I think he should be tried for treason. I think we, as patriots, need to step up and take our country back,” said Julie Collins, protest organizer for the Eugene-Springfield area, also adding, “We don’t think he has the best interest of our country in his heart. We want to make sure We the People are the ones running this country instead of the government.”
Lane Today contacted local leaders in the Democratic Party. Oregon State Representative Val Hoyle (D – Eugene/Junction City) said, “I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the State of Oregon, and with it, the 1st amendment of the Constitution protecting speech. [I'm] not sure how standing on an overpass with signs is going to get the President overthrown, but I say more power to them for exercising their constitutionally protected right to free speech.”
Collins said this protest is associated with Overpasses.org, and is a nationwide grassroots organization that started in June. She said the “Wave” of protests is occurring in every state today. Lane Today attempted to contact someone affiliated with the national organization but no information was provided on the “Contacts” section of their website. The site contained no information regarding who is affiliated with it, and a domain registration search says the site is registered to Arvand Sabetian, who is the owner of a web hosting company. In a brief search of campaign finance records provided by the Federal Elections Commission, no listings were found connected to Sabetian.

When asked for a specific reason Obama should be impeached, Collins said, “Giving arms to our enemies, you know, that sort of thing,” and provided a printed sheet that outlined 20 specific reasons including references to Obama’s vacations while 41 cents of every federal dollar spent is borrowed, the dropping of voter intimidation charges against two Black Panthers in Philadelphia and his refusal to release his long-form birth certificate.
“The Democratic Party of Lane County (DPLC) appreciates and respects our fellow citizens for exercising their First Amendment right to peaceably assemble,” said Chris Wig, DPLC Vice Chair.

Northern Kentucky--Horn-honkers cheer on Obama protesters

Standing behind oversized “Impeach Obama” signs and waving American flags, protesters took to overpasses in Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties this morning to voice their displeasure with the current administration. As part of the nation-wide “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” movement, local residents manned overpasses over I-471 in Fort Thomas, and I-71/75 in Fort Wright and Florence, imploring motorists to show support by honking their horns.
They weren’t disappointed.
At the Kyles Lane overpass in Fort Wright, protesters could barely be heard over the sound of horns.
“It’s been great!,” said Vonda Pickens, the Independence mother who spearheaded the Northern Kentucky effort, an hour into the protest. “It was a little bit busier earlier, but the horns have been going on all morning. We’re pleased because, well, you never know.”
Below, motorists honked their horns and gave “thumbs up” signals to support impeaching President Barack Obama. A few stopped in traffic to shoot photos with their camera phones through their windshields.
Above, the protestors were emboldened.
“The sentiment in this country is boiling over to get this piece of trash out of the White House. It’s that simple,” said Ted McEntee, a retired postal worker from Park Hills.
“There’s a list of at least 50 different things he can be impeached for. Benghazi, The Associated Press, the IRS, Fast and Furious,” he began to list.
“The man is a socialist. He’s a Muslim. He’s never held a prayer breakfast,” he added. “They impeached Clinton for (oral sex), what are they going to do to this moron?”
Protesters wrapped the morning session after 9 a.m., but will return to their perches – facing the other direction to catch rush hour traffic heading home – from 4-5:30 p.m.

Winston-Salem, NC -- National wave of Anti-Obama protests set Tuesday
Posted: Monday, August 5, 2013 10:25 pm
Jenny Drabble/Winston-Salem Journal
In a national wave of protests, those opposed to the policies of President Barack Obama will rally at overpasses across the country Tuesday as part of “Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment.”
The protests, which feature anti-Obama signs and American flags hanging from the overpasses, will be in two “Patriotic Waves” with the goal of getting their message to people going to and from work. The first one will begin at 7:30 a.m.; a second wave will start at 5 p.m.
Michelle Taylor, the leader for Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment-N.C., will lead a local protest at the Harper Road exit on Interstate 40 in Clemmons.
“A lot of people in Clemmons are for the president and don’t understand where we’re coming from, but then again, I used to be that way,” said Taylor, who said she voted twice for Obama. “I’ve never been involved in politics until now, and now I see the crimes he’s really doing.”
Taylor has already led three protests at the Harper Road overpass and said she has generally been met with support. She plans to add more signs this time.
And Clemmons will not be the only protest site. Taylor said she expects there to be protests on at least 200 overpasses in North Carolina, including in Asheville, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount and Greensboro.
About 30,000 North Carolinians have joined the national movement rallying for Obama’s impeachment, she said.
“I don’t know how we can be ignored when so many of us countrywide are participating,” Taylor said. “We just have to wake people up and get them to pay attention.”
The next “Patriotic Wave” is scheduled for Aug. 17, but Taylor said rallies by state groups will likely be held weekly.

Craven County, N.C.--Protesters Calling To Impeach Obama In James City
Updated: Tue 1:09 PM, Aug 06, 2013
http://media.graytvinc.com/images/us...protestors.jpg
A small group of protesters is standing on the pedestrian crosswalk in James City in Craven County, calling for the impeaching of President Barack Obama.
The group appears to be part of a group called "Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment," which urges people to put signs on overpasses across the country calling for the president to be impeached.
At 9:15 a.m., seven protesters were seen on the pedestrian crosswalk.
The group calls for people to ride the "Patriot Wave" today, August 6.
James City is a predominately African-American part of Craven County, and many residents were not very happy that the group chose their community to have their protest.
Another group says they protested on the U.S. 264 overpass, just west of Greenville this morning as well. Both groups say they plan to return this evening.

Wyoming--Citizens plan Casper overpass protest for Obama’s impeachment
August 02, 2013 7:00 am • By KELLY BYER
People will gather on the Beverly Street and Wyoming Boulevard overpasses in Casper today to encourage Congress to impeach President Barack Obama.
Jacqueline Judd, Wyoming leader of Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment, said participants in the national movement want the president of the United States to answer for his “tyrannical, treasonous, unconstitutional actions.”
University of Wyoming professor James King, who specializes in American politics, the presidency and Congress, said they have no chance.
“This is an expression of public opinion, an expression of discontent with the Obama administration,” he said. “But there’s nothing that’s been part of the discussions to date that would fall into the realm of a normal impeachment investigation within the House of Representatives.”
Judd and her fellow protesters disagree. She said there’s proof Obama forged his birth certificate, declared war on Libya and funded the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaida. They want Obama impeached now because they fear he will revoke the right to vote by next fall and seek a third presidential term.
“Many of us believe that if we wait until election time for senators and representatives, we the people will be no more,” Judd said. “We will be under a socialist, communist country, no doubt in my mind.”
The president, she said, has demonstrated his ability to bypass Congress by issuing more executive orders than any other president.
That title, though, still goes to Franklin D. Roosevelt, who signed 3,466 executive orders in his four terms as president. Obama has signed 160 compared to George Bush’s 290 and Bill Clinton’s 363 executive orders, according to federal archives.
“Presidents use executive orders for a wide range of actions,” King said. “Some are very ceremonial. Some are true
policy decisions.”
He also said no president can declare war, but Obama has the power to use military force as commander in chief, a power many prior presidents have used.
The claim that Obama gave the Muslim Brotherhood $1.5 billion is also false. According to PolitiFact, the money was actually an aid package to Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood, which aims to promote the moral and religious law of Islam, is a particular political movement that has been part of Egyptian politics since 1928.
Obama has provided aid to Syrian rebels in their fight against President Bashar al-Assad, and some fear some of the insurgents could have ties to Islamic militant groups such as al-Qaeda. Because congressional committees disapproved of the aid, the administration in July delayed funding until an agreement can be reached, according to Reuters.
“The bottom line is he has not stuck to his oath that he proclaimed when he was inaugurated, both times,” Judd said.
King said that, under the Constitution, a president can only be impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanors.” While there is no clear definition, he said the House of Representatives has only filed for impeachment when there is a clear violation of law.
Only two presidents have ever been impeached by the House, Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Neither was convicted by the Senate nor removed from office.
“We have to start somewhere,” Judd said.
She said there should be more than 100 people from different areas of the state involved in Wyoming’s first rally. It is scheduled to last from noon to 7 p.m.
Drivers coming into Casper from the west will start near Exit 188 on Interstate 25 and end at the Beverly Street overpass. Those coming from the east will begin near Exit 182 and end on the Wyoming Boulevard overpass. Once the vehicles reach their destination shortly after noon, Judd said people will protest on the overpass sidewalks with signs.
“It’ll be kind of like a parade-type setup, coming from both directions,” she said.
Coordinators will also hold overpass protests today in Cheyenne, Judd said.

It would be nice if ALIPAC could mobilize millions of people around the country to did this on every single major highway in every major city. The media would not be able to ignore such an event. We could use that opportunity to call for a third party and get the word out that Democrats and Republicans alike are not looking out for us. We need to impeach Obama and fire every single member of the Senate and House. Why does ALIPAC not do this? Is money a problem? Can it buy ad space on big websites to accomplish this?
ALIPAC is calling for these types of protests on every highway overpass in America. Please see our Announcements section for the messages you missed or you can join our email alerts to impeach Obama at www.WeCanImpeachObama.com

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A group of Jones County-area residents gathered on a local interstate highway overpass and held signs Saturday demanding the impeachment of President Barack Obama. They took part in what they said was a nationwide demonstration called, Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment.
About two dozen demonstrators held up "Impeach Obama" signs and American flags over both northbound and southbound lanes of I-59 at the Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport exit.
"There's the feeling that there's a sense of lawlessness right now, that this administration and the politicians in (Washington) D.C. are legislating and governing without accountability," said rally organizer Cindy Wilkerson.
She said more than 30,000 other people across the country were also taking part.
Participants also said they would be holding similar demonstrations in the near future.

Residents join in national protest campaign against President Obama

LEXINGTON – Fed up with a perceived overreach of power and lack of accountability in the Obama Administration, local resident Leanne Lacy decided to do something about it.
Lacy joined a national network of protesters with Overpasses.org, whose goal is to protest the controversial tenure of President Barack Obama and call for his impeachment.
As the Central Nebraska leader of Overpasses.org, Lacey was holding signs protesting the current Presidential Administration along with fellow resident Troy McDermott early Tuesday morning at the Adams Street overpass above Highway 30.
“We have 40,000 members nationwide and demonstrations in all 50 states,” Lacey said. “This is not Democrats or Republicans it’s just concerned citizens.”
McDermott was holding a sign that read “Impeach Obama,” while Lacey was holding a sign that read “Honk 4A Free Republic Stand Up Citizens for America.”
McDermott was also holding a sign reading “Extortion 17,” referring to the tragic incident in Afghanistan two years ago where 17 U.S. Navy Seals flying in a Chinook helicopter where shot down, some of whom where known to be members of the elite Seal Team 6 – the team that hunted down and killed terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden.
“We’re memorializing Extortion 17,” Lacey said.
Lacey said the identity of the team that hunted down Bin Laden was not known a few years ago until Vice President Joe Biden was reported to have confirmed publicly that the mission was accomplished by Seal Team 6.
“Three weeks later the Seals were shot down in Afghanistan,” Lacey said.
Besides petitioning Congress to investigate the suspicious questions raised by the biggest loss of U.S. Navy Seals in the program’s history, Lacey encouraged residents to better inform themselves about the checks and balances of the U.S. Government’s different branches and hold Obama accountable.
“Mr. Obama can’t make laws,” Lacey said. “He’s making executive orders into law. He’s arrogant now. Only Congress can legislate.”

ST. GEORGE – “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” is a national protest that is currently taking place across the United States. To the participants, there is corruption currently taking place in the United States government and they want to raise public awareness. It is a call to action, a call for impeachment of the president.
The temperature was over 100 degrees today, but protesters did not let that hinder their goal. Southern Utahns gathered for protest at Interstate 15’s Exit 6 overpass on Bluff Street beginning at 10 a.m.
“There is support in numbers,” Jody Lynn Wilkerson said, “we are tired of seeing the things that are happening and we want them to change.
(report continues below)The protesters at the St. George overpass said they want to make their motto clear:
Videocast by Samantha Tommer, St. George News
“It is not about right or left,” Wilkerson said, “but it’s about what is right and wrong.” The protesters want to band together to make a change: A change for the better, they said.
One major point that protesters across the nation feel is a determining factor to impeach Obama is the fact that the Constitution is not being followed by the government.
“A lot of people in America are fed up with Obama and lawlessness and all of the things he has done to disrespect the Constitution,” Toquerville resident Stefanie Williams said. “I am fed up with Obama and his blatant disregard for the rule of law.”
One protester drove by the protest on Bluff with his wife and jumped out of his car to join the protest to raise awareness.
“I heard about this protest initially on Facebook…There were people here, so I jumped out of the car,” St. George resident Michael Lythgoe said. “A few of us have got to stand up for what’s going on in this country and I am more than willing to stand here.”
Over 30 Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment protests took place today on a national scale. States that participated include Florida, Georgia, New York, Arizona and … Utah.
The St. George protesters are planning to participate in another protest upcoming next Saturday.

Group protests President Obama on I-90 Overpass
Posted: Aug 17, 2013 7:56 PM CDTBy Heather Burian - email
VIDEO REPORT AT LINK
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – People driving by Exit 2 on Interstate 90 Saturday afternoon might have noticed a dozen protesters holding "Impeach Obama" signs on the overpass.
The group is part of a nationwide effort called Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment.
The La Crosse protesters said they're a non-partisan group of Americans unhappy with the president's leadership.
Overpass protester Jerry Miller accused the administration of hiding information when it comes to the National Security Agency monitoring American's phones and emails, claims that the Internal Revenue Service is targeting conservative groups, and the way the government handled the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
He hopes this protest opens the eyes of congress to impeach the president.
"Well we hope just to wake everybody up, to take notice and to listen to their constituents. ‘Cause they're not doing their job," Miller said. "They need to stand up and they need to fight against Obama and his administration. They need to start demanding answers."
The La Crosse County Democrats said the "overpass" effort has many similarities to the Tea Party – who also describes themselves as "non-partisan."
The Democrats said the president did not act unconstitutionally so there are no grounds to impeach him.
"You have people (in government) who absolutely will not do anything. You have people who will not appoint judges, they will not approve any appointments of judges, especially in the court system in Washington D.C. These people are impossible. (Obama's) doing the best he can," said Marcia Wine, vice chair of the La Crosse County Democratic Party.
Political science professor Tim Dale said every president has faced this type of opposition and it is very unlikely President Obama will be impeached.
According to the U.S. Constitution, a president can only be impeached "treason, bribery, andotherhighcrimes and misdemeanors."
A majority of the House of Representatives has to vote to pass allocations of impeachment – Bill Clinton was technically impeached.
Then the Senate serves as trial court. A two-thirds majority would have to vote to remove the president.

Anti-Obama group sends impeachment message on overpasses

SERGEANT BLUFF | A group determined to throw President Barack Obama out of the White House held a demonstration on an Interstate 29 overpass Saturday, urging drivers to honk in support of their cause.
Members of the fairly new, grassroots group Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment stood on the First Street overpass in Sergeant Bluff for more than five hours.
"(Obama) is just treading all over the Constitution," Paul Hoadley, of Alta, Iowa, said. "He's not asking Congress for any of the things he's doing anymore. He just thinks he's a king, and he's not."
Hoadley protested with his wife and two children on Saturday "to raise awareness to the rest of the community about how we feel about the administration.
"I wish he gets impeached. Yesterday would be soon enough for me. We're not forcing the country to do anything. Everybody else has their voice out there. So we're putting ours out."
Without claiming allegiance to any political party, conservative activist James Neighbors recently founded the group with a goal to remove "the corrupt and criminal President Obama."
Hoadley said the group had as many as 20 protesters show up at one point and estimates they received more than 300 supportive honks.
"I think today was an excellent day," Hoadley's wife, Charissa, said. "You've got to protect your Constitution before it's too weak to defend itself."
Asked why exactly they'd like to see Obama impeached, she said "there's just numerous ones," as a passing driver yelled an expletive in her direction.
"If you're not ticking people off, then you're not doing something right," she said with a grin.

Dubuque Overpass for Obama's Impeachment

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -On Saturday a group in Dubuque joined protesters across the nation in Overpass for Obama's Impeachment. The group held different signs along Highway 20 in Dubuque to get "honks" for President Obama's impeachment.
Monty Alexander lead the group in Dubuque on Saturday.
"That many people being exposed to at one time, that's why this is so important, he said." We are not being heard, we are not being listened to by the administration. This is not a Democrat or Republican thing, it's about the President of the United States. This is about Republicans that are not doing what they say they are going to, and also Democrats that are not doing what they say they are going to do. The entire administration is corrupt."
This is the second time a group from Overpass for Obama's Impeachment has gathered in Dubuque this summer. Alexander said he was a part of the first group in early august, he said the protesters received mixed reactions from the cars driving below.
"On August 6th, I would estimate probably about 75% honk ratio (of cars that passed by), he said. "I would say about 20% didn't do anything, and about 5% did some things that were inappropriate."

Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment claims no party and is for anyone who wants to see Obama impeached.
In just a few moments time multiple drivers honked their horn in support of the protest, from Big Rigs to Family Sedans. Macy stated that whenever a Military Convoy rolls through they all honk also.

Locals join nationwide protest against Obama
by Ron Harris
August 18,2013
About a dozen local residents joined a nationwide protest Saturday against President Barack Obama and his administration.
The protest, organized by a national group calling itself Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment, was held in cities across the United States. In Jasper, the protest was held along U.S. 78 just east of Industrial Boulevard.
“This is a national movement, and it’s being held all across the U.S.,” said Eva Atkins, one of the organizers of the local protest.
“This is to bring awareness to issues that the mainstream media is not reporting,” added Trisha Knight Gardner, one of a dozen protesters in Jasper.
Some motorists passing on U.S. 78 honked their horns in support of the protest. Many others expressed their feelings on the group’s Facebook page.
The group also has a website at overpasses.org.
According to the website, “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment has a simple goal. The removal of the corrupt and criminal President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama.
“His actions go unimpeded, our pleas through petitions unanswered. Our calls and letters to Congress are left ignored and unopened.
“Our only peaceful recourse is to take to the streets and overpasses of America and demand that our nation be returned to We the People, and that Barack Hussein Obama be impeached, removed from office, and held accountable for his actions while serving as President.”
“There are numerous points that we’re trying to bring to the nation’s attention,” said Karen, who didn’t want to give her last name because she’s a federal employee.
“The main thing that bothers me is President Obama getting our troops killed,” Atkins said. “But it’s also a lot of other things like what happened in Benghazi. President Obama just needs to go. He’s committed treason over and over and Congress has done nothing about it.
Lonnie Long, a 17-year member of the U.S. Navy who’s now retired, said he’s frustrated with the Obama administration and its lack of help for veterans and for most Americans.
“President Obama has split the nation so bad,” he said. “When Reagan was in office and when Clinton was in office — as much as I didn’t like them either — at least both sides of the aisle (in Congress) would talk to each other. Now, they won’t even talk to each other.”
“The administration is fostering that,” added Karen.
“He’s divided the country to the point where nothing is going to work,” Long said.
Protesters said race has nothing to do with their displeasure with Obama and his presidency.
“That’s garbage. I don’t like Joe Biden. I don’t like Harry Reid,” Long said. “Guess what, neither one of them is black.”
“It’s not about race,” Atkins said.
“I don’t care if he’s purple with green stripes,” said Karen. “He’s got to go.
It’s like America at this point in time has congestive heart failure.”
“People are just not informed, that’s a big part of the problem,” Long said.
