I smell fear!!! There is an awful lot of new faces around here telling us not to go 3rd party, that we are not going to win, that we need to figure out what Ron's "role" will be at the convention, etc.
I love it! Bring more please!!
The more scared trolls that come here and try to convince us we're not winning the more I KNOW we are!!!
I was waiting for this. The moment they attempted to address us directly. Tried to attack us from within. Tried to "let us down gently", you know... as a friend.
Man I tell you, I've worked my whole life with some of the most underhanded, game playing, smile as they kick you in the face people. I know all their tricks and this is my favorite. It's the one where the losing player tries to convince you that the game is over, you've already lost.
Simple fact. If this was true? They wouldn't be wasting their time telling you.
Stand tall folks! They are scared, we are winning!
Don't let them come between us or our beliefs we are entitled to them and tolerance for one another is our motto.
I love my DP family and I will see you all in Tampa!

Evangelicals turn to Ron Paul
by Doug Wead on April 12, 2012

In the wake of Senator Rick Santorum’s departure from the presidential race there are signs that some evangelical leaders are refusing to jump on board the Mitt Romney bandwagon and are turning to Congressman Ron Paul instead. The Texas congressman spoke to several thousand people last night at the Will Rogers Auditorium in downtown Fort Worth but met quietly afterward with evangelical leaders.
Why Ron Paul? And why now, when the race is being declared “done” by the main stream media?
“Because you don’t give away your support without getting something in return,” says a former congressman who has been at the heart of the Christian right movement since its beginning. The longer that Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich stay in the race, the more likely that Romney will be forced to take a evangelical conservative as his vice presidential nominee.
Why not turn to Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Catholic who is a former Southern Baptist, with views that resonate with evangelicals?
“If we had to do it over again, we should have gone with Gingrich,” one of Santorum’s supporters told me today. But if we switch to Gingrich now we risk another drop out.” The former Speaker reportedly has debts of $ 4.2 million and has asked the Romney campaign for help in retiring them. Romney reportedly declined.
Meanwhile, the Ron Paul campaign, with cash on hand, has begun airing television ads in Texas and launches another moneybomb this weekend.
“I have one question for you,” one of the ministers reportedly said in the private meeting last night with Dr. Ron Paul, “Are you going to drop out? Or will you stay in all the way to Tampa?”
“I’m in,” the Texan replied.
“That’s all I need to know,” the minister said.
The evangelical community began reaching out to Dr. Paul almost immediately after Senator Rick Santorum dropped out of the presidential race. Yesterday, Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries announced his support of the congressman, calling for a day of prayer and fasting. Andrew released a statement saying that, “After Santorum, Ron Paul is the most God-fearing Presidential candidate [and] the Republican party should endorse him.” Andrew said that “If Republicans don’t give a Christian candidate, Christians should look elsewhere – even to a third party.”
The Christian Wire service ran an article yesterday saying that Christians like the fact that Ron Paul “opposes tyranny, would cut the deficit and is prolife.”
A prominent television evangelist , speaking on the promise of anonymity, says that there was great disappointment in Rick Santorum’s withdrawal from the race. “No one faults a man for being a good father, and dropping out to take care of a child, but it hurts many of us very deeply. We were counting on him to lead our cause.”
Foster Freiss, the Wyoming billionaire who financed the Santorum Super Pac, has publicly said he will now help Mitt Romney.
Meanwhile, evangelical leaders are skeptical of any of their brethren who are now pledging to Romney. “They are trotting out the same old bought and paid for names, Richard Land and Jay Sekulow, and acting like they are new.” A Gingrich supporter who is quite vocal about his disappointment with the Santorum campaign suspects that evangelical leaders who supported Santorum, did so in return for donations to their nonprofit organizations. “They will now try to repeat the same thing with Romney and are already in the news laying the foundation for their appeal. It is appalling.”
But the rank and file evangelicals are not for sale and many seeking an end to the corruption in Washington see Ron Paul, a born again Christian, as their best voice of protest and the best way to force Romney to deal with them.
Steve Scheffler, president of the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition and a GOP national committeeman, is dumbfounded that the Romney’s campaign had so far made no effort to reach out to evangelicals.
“The presidential race is likely to be truly competitive,” Mr. Scheffler said, “in about a dozen states, including Iowa, and the Republicans will need to motivate people to volunteer at calling centers and put up signs. I don’t think there’s much room for error.”
Meanwhile, the Ron Paul people continue to fill the vacuum. In Iowa they are helping Scheffler and other Santorum people get re-elected to their positions. They can afford to be generous, they have everything else.
Says Brian Jacobs, a former consultant to Billy Graham and to evangelical leaders such as Kenneth Copeland, “Ron Paul is a born again Christian who is untainted by this corruption that has engulfed Washington. It should be no big surprise that evangelicals are discovering him.”

Drockton Report:
New Romney Scandal a Major Campaign Threat
The problem with Mitt Romney is he appears to only do those things that will enhance his public image or personal fortunes. A guy like that will never let ethics stand in the way of a good payday. No matter who gets hurt. Take this latest scandal, which started on the Daily Beast and then was quickly removed.
"SALT LAKE CITY — A new report raises questions about one of Mitt Romney's sources of campaign money, who was also a key figure in the Olympic bribery scandal and the subsequent trial.
The Daily Beast reports the donor, New Jersey travel-company executive Sead Dizdarevic, became an immunized witness during the 2003 trial stemming from the Olympic bribery scandal.
He testified at the corruption trial of Salt Lake Olympic directors Tom Welch and David Johnson that he and his sister-in-law had delivered $131,000 in cash contributions to the defendants in hopes of securing an exclusive Olympic hospitality contract.
The report says after Romney took over running the Olympics, Dizdarevic was awarded an exclusive, elite travel package contract anyway. The Daily Beast says now Dizdarevic, his family, his company and his business associates have donated more than $1 million to Romney's campaign." (Source)
Romney controlled over 2 billion dollars in contracts as the "Savior of the Salt Lake Olympics". The money came from the U.S. taxpayer, and was assailed by such notables as John McCain for being an outrageous example of taxpayer abuse. Romney also had his eye on becoming POTUS long before the Olympics.
After the Olympic scandal became public, it appears that Romney cut his own little deal with Dizdarevic and still awarded him the monopoly on travel packages and event tickets. Undoubtedly, Dizdarevic, who was at the center of the scandal, should have been excluded based on that which Romney holds nearest and dearest, the appearance of gross impropriety.
The real question, of course, is when is Romney working for U.S. taxpayers and when is he working for his own self-enrichment? The POTUS has trillions of dollars in contracts he can influence through the use of Executive Orders and the bureaucracy. Why be a billionaire at other's expense when you can be a trillionaire?
Greed is just as big a part of Romney's persona as any other attribute, and greed leads to ethics scandals. Some view Dizdarevic as nothing more than a monopolistic Olympic ticket scalper, who looks at bribes as just the cost of doing business.
"Dizdarevic's base of operations is in Far Hills, N.J., and his companies have seven other offices around the world. Business has more than tripled since the Athens Olympics of 2004, Jet Set President Mark Lewis said.
The key to that success is simple: Dizdarevic knows tickets are the currency of Olympic travel. Olympic organizations sell tickets to the public for as much as $1,100 a seat at premier events. For those that he controls, Dizdarevic adds at least a 20 percent markup on top of face-value prices.
But the same tickets can generate a much higher profit margin when combined with hotels, transportation and meals to form expensive packages.
These packages are, for the most part, unregulated by Olympic officials, who allow Dizdarevic's companies to charge whatever he wants to sponsors, corporate VIPs and the general public.
Exercising his rights as an official Olympic "sponsor" for the host city's organizing committee and many other Olympic organizations around the globe, Dizdarevic buys a secret pot of tens of thousands of tickets that he controls and resells. He also sews up large numbers of the best hotel rooms in every host city — often years in advance.
His companies amassed 125,000 tickets for Vancouver and Whistler — about 8 percent of the 1.6 million total.
"We are the largest buyer of tickets to the Olympics," Lewis said, adding that the companies also control as many as 2,000 hotel rooms. Dizdarevic's dual roles as a ticket broker and travel-package provider give him convenient options: He can transfer tickets from one market to the other — in some cases, his critics say, artificially creating supply and demand according to his own whim.
"In effect, CoSport and Jet Set have a monopoly on legally valid tickets," says Moriarty, the Houston lawyer, who researched Olympic ticketing after getting scammed by another agency for Beijing tickets. "And what they seek to do is screw the consumers by bundling housing and tickets together to get more than what the housing is worth, and what the tickets are worth, because without them, you don't go." (Source)
Artificial demand drives prices up that much further, and thanks to Mitt Romney, the man who was at the center of the Salt Lake Olympic's scandal, was still permitted to make a significant profit from it. By accepting 1 million dollars from the man who some blame for the Salt Lake Scandal. Mitt Romney shows that he was never as interested in cleaning things up as he was in profitting from the mess.
Ron Paul will benefit as more scandals come to light. After all, he doesn't have any reported ethical lapses like the slick Mittster. If somehow Romney did win, we could expect more Congressional investigations into his other business dealings. After all, his greed has made him an easy target.

Will the Republican Party Expel Ron Paul in an Attempt to Stop the Revolution?

http://fromthetrenchesworldreport.co...paul-power.jpgIt seems everyone out here is ecstatic over the drive to impeach Obama, somehow believing this is all we need to do to save our Republic. It is discomforting seeing so called patriot websites and broadcasts pushing this unrealistic theory. Isn’t it a little late in the game for an impeachment? And even if such a
process were to go forward, could it be accomplished before the November election?
What if Obama is impeached right after being elected? Would this mean President Joe Biden and Vice-President Hillary Clinton for the next four years? Oh yeah, that would definitely stop the socialist invasion and reinstate the Republic. I think we had all better remember that Premier Obama has put the mechanisms in place to clamp down with his police state if he feels threatened in any way.
The Ron Paul campaign continues to thrive in spite of the deliberate propaganda blitz designed to dismiss his candidacy through a complete denial of his existence. Even with Rick Santorum dropping from the race, Mitt Romney would have to win every state left in order to secure the nomination through the rules. This is a mathematical impossibility as Ron Paul will continue to win delegates right on through the primaries and caucuses.
This being said, a brokered GOP convention must be considered an absolute at this point. This is simple addition and subtraction, which apparently those is in the mainstream media are incapable of, as they are presently reporting a national contest between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, when Mitt Romney has in no way secured the GOP nomination.
The fact that neither the soviet socialist Democratic nor the national socialist Republican owned media will report this undeniable reality, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are united in the cause of preserving the elitist socialist status quo.
The American people of the American race are going to continue to turn out for Dr. Paul. This being said, when June 26th rolls around and the primaries and caucuses are finished and Mitt Romney does not have the required number of delegates, what then? Will the propagandists stop reporting the national election as being between Romney and Obama? Wouldn’t this be a little embarrassing?
I have to believe that the Republican Party is getting ready to expel Dr. Paul. In reality this is the only way they can stop the brokered convention, and to suggest that they would not do this would fly in the face of the reality of the election fraud we have seen take place in literally every primary and caucus without exception.
Couple this with the fact that Russia has announced that it expects to be in a conflict with the United States by summer in retaliation for a US/Israeli invasion of Iran and/or Syria, well it would leave one to wonder if there will even be an election. Remember, under any emergency Barack Obama now has the authority to seize every resource in our country, and that includes us. Under such an authority, if we the people are seized by the government, could Obama not just simply say the election is suspended as a matter of national security?
We the people had better come to grips with the power this insurgency is attempting to seize. They would not have come this far if they had any intent of backing out. I believe they are scared, but as they are also criminally insane and the stakes are so high, they will make the attempt, in spite of the fact that they know they will be destroyed in the end.
God bless the Republic, we shall prevail.

The Road to Tampa : Ron Paul's "Stunning Upset" in Colorado
Reports the Denver Post:
Colorado Republicans are heading to their national convention with their most conservative delegation in years, as supporters for Ron Paul and Rick Santorum masterminded a stunning upset in electing delegates.
At the state convention in Denver today, Paul forces easily were the most vocal, adding their candidate’s name at almost every opportunity. When Republicans sang “Hey, hey, hey, good-bye” to President Barack Obama, Paul backers changed the words to “Hey, hey, hey, Ron Paul.”
The momentum was painful for Mitt Romney supporters, who had assumed when Santorum dropped out of the presidential race this week they’d have a much easier time in winning Colorado’s delegate and alternate seats to the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August…
“This is a revolution,” said Florence Sebern of Denver, an “unpledged” delegate who was wearing a Paul pin. She was part of the slate…
Matt Holdridge, the state director for Paul, read an e-mail from the candidate that began with “Wow!” in reference to the slate of supporters elected Friday…

Mitt Romney, the negative campaigner, has his own problem with negatives it seems.
"Thirty-four percent hold a favorable opinion of Romney, the lowest for any leading presidential candidate in ABC/Post polls in primary seasons since 1984. His unfavorable score is higher than Obama ever has received; it’s been exceeded by just one other Republican candidate this year, Newt Gingrich, and by only one top candidate in 28 years, Hillary Clinton in 2008." (Source)
American voters just don't like the guy. In fact, as previous primary elections have shown, the majority of Republicans would vote for anyone but Romney. Ron Paul isn't just anyone. Indeed, it could be argued that Paul has been the real target of the Romney campaign all along.

Michigan
I like this theme, "The road to Tampa" with reports of successes from all over, as well as lesson that we can all learn from. In one county in Michigan, our people took control over the district with a Ron Pauler as the new vice-chair and a majority in the district. This goal will be true for as many of the 14 districts as possible so we can send a clear message to the establishment....heck, we may even change the annual "Lincoln day dinner" to a Jefferson day dinner.

A Rick Santorum supporter visits a Ron Paul Rally

Texas
Here is a Facebook commentary from Adrian Murry, a Rick Santorum supporter and Ft. Worth tea party leader, who recently attended a Ron Paul event in Ft. Worth, TX:...I have spoken before a lot of groups in the last several years as we have all grappled with the seeming dissolution of our country. I have half-jokingly said on many of these occasions that the other side doesn’t really have to defeat us politically, they just have to wait for us all to die off so they can implement their plans. My point has been that the greatest issue facing the conservative cause is a demographical one, a lack of diversity that will shortly render the conservative message irrelevant. Where are the youth? I and others have asked. Where are the people of color? Why doesn’t the conservative message resonate?
The answer to where they are could be found last night at the Will Rogers Auditorium. Often at political events there is a sense of excitement, anticipation, a certain buzz in the audience while waiting for the main event. Excitement, anticipation and buzz are weak and inadequate words to describe the pre-rally crowd last night. Energy is even inadequate. What undulated through the thousands who thronged outside before the doors opened last night was a kinetic power, the power of hope, the power of liberation, the power of anger at a system turned upside down, the power of liberation and, yes, the ultimate and emancipating power of freedom.
You had to be there to understand it.
Once inside, for the only time in my politically active life, I was transported to a world I had not seen before. There was enough energy in that room to power a skyscraper. Teenagers, college students, whites, Hispanics, African Americans, Asians, middle-aged, elderly, every racial, ethnic, socio-economic, cross cultural ingredient of the American melting pot was there. The auditorium was a cauldron of American citizens who understand and have grasped the true nature of the tyranny which has befallen this nation, a conflagration, if you will, of passion and anger and joy and determination. This is where the fire starts this time. The eruption when Mr. Paul took the stage was deafening...
...
What exactly is our national security securing? Certainly not our liberty. We have been sacrificing ever larger chucks of our liberty to the gods of security for decades now and in the interests of securing our liberty have given it all away. Go to an airport if you want to witness the loss of liberty in all its glorious humiliation. One wonders if we actually were taken over by another power and our Constitution dismantled what exactly could they do to restrict our movements, monitor our activities and control our actions that would be any worse or oppressive than what our own government is doing right now?
This part of Mr. Paul’s message, if I have interpreted it correctly, is what resonates with me. All the other things pale in contrast to our becoming a nation of slaves.
...
So what did I come away with last night? It can be captured in one picture. Before Mr. Paul was introduced, part of his family took the stage: his wife, one of his sons, a smattering of cousins, nieces and nephews. That picture tells us all we need to know. They are us. They weren’t pulled from central casting, exquisitely coifed and finely tailored, prepped and ready for the cameras. No. They are a family. They are us....
...
America is on the brink of flatlining.
Which logically only leads to one question:
Is there a doctor in the house?
Which logically only leads to one answer:

Ron Paul 2012
Suppose for a second Romney secures more than 1,144 delegates before the national convention. Does that make him the official nominee? No it does not.
He only becomes the nominee after the first vote at the convention. He needs 1,144 delegate VOTES at the convention to become the nominee.
What everyone is afraid of is that they think if he secures 1,144 delegates its all over when its really not even close. They think that once you have a bound Romney delegate you are forced to vote for Romney. You dont.
If a good chunk of Romney delegates are really stealth Paul supporters they can all abstain on the first vote thus keeping Mittens from acheiving the nomination altogether and creating round two - aka brokered convention.
Once we have that its an easy victory.
Right now our main focus should be to make sure all stealth paul supporters who are Romney delegates know that they need to abstain for the first round.
We can still very much win this. We just need a small chunk of them to abstain and we have a brokered convention. Romney will need way more than 1,144 delegates to win.

Woodstock was just a warm-up for what we will do. 43 years ago the hippies just gathered sort of aimlessly rebelling against reality.
We know what we want and it's far beyond just getting wasted and having a temporary experience or escape.
We will legalize liberty once again.
We will restore the Constitution.
No more counterfeits. No more thieves and liars.
70% of Americans want to audit the FED.
California Medical Association Calls For Legalization Of Marijuana
Televangelist Pat Robertson calls for legalization of marijuana
Like Ron Paul has said, "Something big is happening."
I believe we need an event that will draw millions for 4-5 days this summer.
Somehing that will set off a fresh fragrance across America.
Like the summer of '69.
The theme? "Abolish The Economic Slavery of the FED/IRS Complex in America."
The tail will wag the dog when it comes to the media. They will wag when we say so. No more begging for coverage and legitimate treament.
They have to prove THEIR legitimacy. They will orbit around OUR universe.
We need to create an overwhelming wave of support for the Rand Paul's who are treading water in D.C.

Excerpt:Really, in all honesty, there is only one candidate that actually has a consistent and clear record of opposing the dangerous and unconstitutional attacks on human rights and liberties perpetrated by the Bush and Obama administrations over the last decade.
Ron Paul may face diminished chances to unseat the Republican frontrunner, but citizens can send a clear message that enough is enough with the burgeoning national security state by participating a popularity surge in favor of Ron Paul.
Doing so is crucial if we are to arrest and reverse the American security state’s embrace of tyranny and rejection of the Constitution. And that’s why liberals (and everyone else) should get behind Ron Paul.

Subject: RPT Rule 25a. Clarification Needed, Bexar Co
Hello Mr. Munisteri,
I was hoping you could clarify a rule for me, as I am trying to help a some friends participate in the up-coming precinct and senatorial conventions in Bexar County. I was told through the grape vine that you'd give a fair assessment of the issue at hand!
It's my understanding that according to this court ruling (http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/court-order-02281...), several sections of the T.E.C. were suspended due to the redistricting issues, and the SREC was tasked with developing rules to govern the conventions on April 14th in Bexar County. The SREC has since developed these rules and published them here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/texasgop_pre/assets/original/2011RPT...
Rule 25a. states the following in brevity:
Rule No. 25 - Qualifications for Participation, Persons Admitted and Who May Address
a. Qualifications for Participation – The only qualification for participation in a Convention shall be that a registered voter in the territory covered by the Convention, OR A RESIDENT of that territory who is eligible to vote a limited ballot, shall have established Party affiliation.
According to T.E.C. Chapter 112, (Sec. 112.002) a person is eligible to vote a limited ballot if:
Sec. 112.002. ELIGIBILITY
(a) After changing residence to another county, a person is eligible to vote a limited ballot by personal appearance during the early voting period or by mail if:
(1) the person would have been eligible to vote in the county of former residence on election day if still residing in that county;

So my questions is, if my friends are currently registered and eligible to vote in another county in Texas but now are residents in Bexar County, what documents do they have to bring with them to the Bexar County Precinct Conventions on April 14th in order to be credentialed and allowed to participate in the delegate selection process?
I understand they may have to complete an Applications for Limited Ballot , but couldn't they fill that out at the polls on May 29th also here in Bexar County?
I know this is last minute, but I'm hoping your clarification will help things run a little more smoothly on Saturday. Can you please shed some light on this?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Rob H

The process for determining eligibility to vote a limited ballot is simple. To be eligible to vote a limited ballot in a jurisdiction, a person must currently be a registered voter in another county in Texas. The person seeking to qualify as a delegate at your convention must present a voter registration card showing they are registered to vote in a county other than yours. The person must also have established residency in your jurisdiction. A good way to show that is by registering to vote in your jurisdiction. I recommend the person be required to fill out a voter registration card on the spot before qualifying him or show proof that he has registered already (e.g. deputy voter registrar's receipt given when registering in person at your county elections office). You may also check the voter roll for his name with a future effective date of registration. Those two steps would qualify a person to vote a limited ballot in your county and therefore make him eligible to participate in your convention. They need not fill out the Application for limited ballot, so long as they have actually filled out a voter registration application in your county at the time you credential them.

Mr. Opiela,
Thanks so much for your response!
What if the person seeking to qualify as a delegate at the precinct convention does NOT have their voter registration card, BUT their registration status in another Texas county could be verified onsite using this link: https://team1.sos.state.tx.us/voterws/viw/faces/SearchSelect... I just don't know where we'd be able to find the person's VUID number since that link only proves they are registered, but does not provide their VUID number. Thoughts?
Additionally, I know Bexar Co. hasn't finalized 2012 precincts so we're using 2010 precincts. Voter registration cards are not even available yet in Bexar Co. I'm sure this may be true in other counties too making it impossible to comply for any new voters or voters who lost their registration card.
Thanks again for your quick response! You've been of great help!

I would not use the SOS system as a definitive proof of registration status (or more particularly, the lack thereof). The TEAM system, due to redistricting, is not up to date for many counties. Some are as much as 4-5 months behind, especially large urban counties. Therefore, if someone does not show up in TEAM, they may still be registered to vote in their prior county of residence. That is why I recommended requiring persons desiring to participate as a limited ballot resident to present a voter registration card from their prior county of residence. A printout from their prior county's system would suffice as well. You also might be able to go to the prior county's website and look them up. In Texas voter registrars are at the county level, so the definitive record lies with them, not the Secretary of State.

Mr. Opiela,
I'm glad you're on top of this as it seems to be pretty technical legal jargon that keeps begging other questions! I'm very appreciative of your attempts to clarify, but I wish I was more astute with the election code and the governing rules. Good point on the SOS system being not up-to-date for someone who IS registered. I guess I just can't comprehend how a new voter who has NEVER received a voter's registration card or a voter who LOST their voter's registration card could produce a voter's registration card as proof he's registered. That task seems virtually impossible to do! The statue seems to only require that the person is "eligible" but does not stipulate approved methods for proving "eligibility." I'm not sure on the feasibility of getting access to the county's records online or via phone on a Saturday, but when I attempted to do this for Bexar County, their website just links to the SOS site to check if you're registered: Registration
I would recommend a seemingly reasonable, simple, and flexible solution that should keep all parties happy, that is, by whatever means available, the Bexar Co Resident wishing to participate should provide ANY documentation to the Credentials Committee during check-in that shows they are registered to vote ANYWHERE in Texas. This could be a voter's registration card, an online SOS search, a call to the former county, a printout from the county's system (will all Texas counties be open on Saturday at 7:00am?!), or any other way to prove to the Temporary Committee that the person is currently registered in Texas and hence eligible to vote a limited ballot and therefore eligible to participate in the conventions. Once proved that the Bexar Co Resident is registered in Texas, AND has established residency in Bexar County by filling out a voter registration card on the spot, the Bexar Co Resident should be allowed to participate in the precinct, senatorial, and state conventions provided they get elected as a delegate and obviously provided that they sign their oath of affiliation.
Please confirm.
Thanks,
Rob Hinojosa

I agree. If they can provide proof, in whatever form, AND they register to vote in your county, they should be allowed to participate. If they cannot provide the necessary proof, even if this is due to the voter registrar's office being closed, they should not be allowed to participate. The credentials committee at the state convention will be the ultimate arbiter, but in my opinion, you should make every effort to try to qualify a person, if possible, but not qualify someone who cannot provide any documentation. This is the same standard used by election judges at polling places prior to the provisional ballot procedure implemented in HAVA. If a person has registered prior to the last 30 days they should have received a voter registration card by now, as noted before, new voters (less than 30 days) are not entitled to participate. If they lost their card, they can obtain certification now, while the offices are still open, to participate tomorrow. I don't anticipate this being a large problem tomorrow or next weekend.

The Road to Tampa: Ron Paul’s “Stunning Upset” in Colorado

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will campaign in Rhode Island, New York, and Pennsylvania by holding fundraisers, media availabilities, and large town hall meetings ahead of the three states’ nominating contests.
Ron Paul’s town hall meetings in Rhode Island, New York, and Pennsylvania are being organized by ‘Youth for Ron Paul’ (YFP). YFP, an initiative of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign, launched in September 2011, and since its inception, students nationwide have organized 607 chapters and recruited more than 76,000 people. “Supporters in Rhode Island, New York, and Pennsylvania are working tirelessly to organize these upcoming events so Ron Paul can speak directly to students and the broader community about his ‘Plan to Restore America,’ an economic blueprint that includes cutting $1 trillion in his first year in office, balancing the budget within three years, and eliminating five unconstitutional federal departments,” said Edward King, National Youth Director for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.
“Ron Paul is the only authentic conservative running for the Republican nomination and the only candidate who will solve our debt crisis, a liability future generations will inherit. That’s why he attracts so many young people, and that’s why Dr. Paul is the best candidate to defeat President Obama in November,” added Mr. King.
An open press opportunity will follow each of Ron Paul’s town hall meetings. Members of the local and major print, broadcast, and online media with particular needs such as the desire to arrange a candidate interview should contact Assistant Press Secretary Arick Stall at aricks@ronpaul2012.com. Americans Agree with Ron Paul on Military Spending
Reports the Houston Chronicle:
Thirty-six percent of Americans think this country is spending too much money on the military and national security, according to a new survey from Rasmussen Reports. In comparison, only 27 percent think the country doesn’t spend enough on the military, and another 27 percent think the country is spending the right amount on the military
When asked if the U.S. should always spend at least three times as much on defense than any other nation to ensure its safety, 47 percent answered no.
Doesn’t it sound kind of familiar?
Doesn’t it kind of sound like Ron Paul?
When confronted by Anderson Cooper in the CNN debate in Las Vegas about his proposed cut of 15 percent to the Defense Department without hurting national security, Paul said:
“I don’t want to cut any defense. And you have to get it straight: there’s a lot of money spent in our military budget that doesn’t do any good for our defense.”
“To cut military spending is a wise thing to do,” Paul continued. “We would be safer if we weren’t in so many places. We have an empire, we can’t afford it. Empires always bring great nations down…”

Ron Paul Moneybomb: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
If there’s one thing I’ve been ticked off about in the last few weeks it’s the the lack of media coverage of the massive crowds Ron Paul continues to draw each stop he makes. I’m sorry, but even for reporters who’ve written Paul off–this is a story. Why does Ron Paul continue to attract such a vast audience? Why are his audiences so enthusiastic? What’s his secret? A few local news affiliates have asked these questions. The national media has ignored the entire phenomenon.
And make no mistake, it is phenomenal. What we’re witnessing with Ron Paul and his movement is an ideological and generational shift from the politics of old to a true message of liberty, prosperity and the promise of a better future. The other candidates in this race represent a broken status quo that many are still willing to endure, while Paul represents a new electorate that rejects that system wholesale. What Ron Paul is doing right now will continue to bear fruit for years to come, gauged not only by the various Ron Paul Republicans running for House and Senate seats (this year’s crop alone is shaping up nicely) but in Americans’ attitudes about government in general. Paul’s ideas have already shaped this race, something even his critics will admit.
The GOP establishment represents the past. We represent the future. Mitt Romney is running a campaign. Ron Paul is spearheading a revolution.
Coming off of victories yesterday in Colorado and Minnesota, the April 15th money bomb will give us the resources to take the revolution all the way to Tampa where our voices will not be ignored. The following grassroots video expresses well much of what I’ve said here. Dr. Paul really does have the best supporters in the world:

Ron Paul Only Candidate Able to Defeat Obama in New Poll
Edges out Obama while Romney, suffering from Obama’s enthusiasm gap, at best ties Obama
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul again polls better against President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup than establishment-choice moderate Mitt Romney, according to a poll released today from Rasmussen.
The poll notes that in a general election matchup, the 12-term Congressman from Texas edges out Obama by 1 percentage point, 44 to 43 percent. The survey also notes that in a hypothetical 2012 head-to-head, Obama and Romney are tied at 45 percent, which bodes poorly for Republicans being urged to believe the race is over, only to later experience buyer’s remorse.
The poll also finds that this far into Obama’s first term, 40 percent of voters respond that they “strongly disapprove” and 27 percent “strongly approve” of his performance. With a Presidential Approval Index of -13 points, it is noteworthy that some Republicans are seemingly settling on a candidate no more popular than the President, suggesting an establishment liberal Democrat is no more popular than a establishment liberal Republican. The Rasmussen poll may be prescient in showing a general election scenario of confusion among voters over which candidate has the least liberal record.
“Now that other candidates presenting themselves as the ‘conservative’ alternative to Mitt Romney have stepped aside, the numbers are clear. Ron Paul is the only conservative able to garner the enthusiasm, resources, and votes required to win in November. Voters perceive the contrast, and are ready to elect the candidate who will end the status quo and Restore America Now,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
Rasmussen’s daily tracking results are collected from 1,500 Likely Voters and have a +/- 3 percentage point error margin. To view the poll release online, click here.

Has The GOP Made A Mistake By Dismissing Ron Paul?
n this election year it has become clear that the GOP ‘establishment’ has chosen MA Gov. Mitt Romney as their ‘choice’ for GOP nominee. Yet despite the ‘establishments’ and the ‘media’ blackout on Texas Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, Paul still has a very large spectrum of support, support that comes from gun owners; Veterans; Christians; Jews; ‘Blue Republicans’ a group of Democrats and Independents for Paul; supporters who contrary to what the media and the GOP says are anything but a bunch of college kids and anti-war protesters whose top concern is legalizing marijuana.
snip
What is it about the GOP and DNC that allows them to champion their support of Veterans when Veterans endorse the party backed candidate but dismiss Veterans when they support a candidate who does not have the backing of the party power brokers? Why do democrats and republicans shout from the roof-tops when they have Christian groups who endorse/support the party backed candidate, but dismisses Christian groups who endorse/support a candidate not backed by the party machine? There is something seriously wrong with a political system and a media which demonstrate such a dismissive attitude toward groups that they would be proudly extolling if these groups were supporting the party or media candidate.
Is the GOP really willing to dismiss such voters and continue to try and paint them as being of such an extreme fringe that they do not have a place in the party in 2012?
snip
With the Americans Elect group planning to place a candidate on the ballot in all 50 states in November, can the GOP really risk any chance they may have by alienating the wide reaching support base that Texas Congressman Ron Paul has and which continues to grow? What if Dr. Paul were to be the candidate on the Americans Elect ticket? The group’s tag line is “Pick a Candidate, not a party,” and Ron Paul has support from all walks of life; from all ethnic groups; from all religions. Are the Democrats really willing to bet that they will turn out the vote for Barack Obama from the independents that he too must have to win in November?
snip
Unlike the TEA Party which in so many ways has become the same GOP establishment they claim they formed to hold accountable, Ron Paul supporters have not sold their souls to party elders nor have they engaged in the very acts they oppose themselves.
Sinclair News is in no way saying that ALL TEA Party groups, but many of the TEA Party groups might want to look to the Paul supporters on how to organize and effect change without becoming the very characters you organized to oppose.

Is Romney Firing Blanks On Gun Support?
April 16, 2012
by Sam Rolley
http://personallibertycom.files.word...0413_image.jpg
Mitt “varmint hunting” Romney joined the National Rifle Association at its annual meeting in St. Louis on Friday.
In the NRA’s mission statement the organization says its express goals are to “promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those participating in the shooting sports, and to educate the general public about firearms in their historic, technological and artistic context.”
Many of the organization’s members are likely wary of Romney’s record on guns, considering his proverbial “Etch A Sketch” rhetoric concerning the issue.
Here are a few of Romney’s past positions concerning gun control:
- In 1994, Romney backed two gun-control measures that were strongly opposed by the NRA: a ban on certain assault weapons and the Brady Law, which imposed a five-day waiting period on gun sales. “I don’t think (the waiting period) will have a massive effect on crime, but I think it will have a positive effect,” he said. Also in 1994, Romney, speaking about his devotion to tough control laws, said he did not line up with the NRA.
- While running for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002, Romney said: “We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts. I support them. I won’t chip away at them.”
- In 2004, as Governor of the State, Romney made good on the promise by signing a complete assault rifle ban into law, declaring the firearms “instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”
- During his Gubernatorial tenure, Massachusetts approved raising the fee on gun licenses from $25 to $100.
Romney took a bit of a turn on the issues during his first Presidential run. Romney told The Washington Post in 2008:
I believe we need to focus on enforcing our current laws rather than creating new laws that burden lawful gun owners. I believe in safe and responsible gun ownership and that anyone who exercises the right to keep and bear arms must do so lawfully and properly. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all federal approach to gun ownership because people keep and use firearms for different reasons. Law-abiding citizens have a right to protect their homes and their families and as President, I will vigorously defend that right. In a 2007 interview, Romney told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos:
…I’m a strong proponent of Second Amendment rights. I believe people, under our Constitution, have the right to bear arms. We have a gun in one of our homes. It’s not owned by me, it’s owned by my son, but I’ve always considered it sort of mine. (Emphasis added.)Borrowing his son’s gun that is kept in one of his homes was apparently enough, however, for the candidate to sign up for a lifetime membership to the NRA before his first Presidential run. Perhaps it is even enough for the millions of Americans who keep several guns in their one home for self-defense, hunting and sport shooting to believe that the candidate is sincere in his devotion to protecting 2nd Amendment Rights.
