Ben Swann: RNC Breaking Their Own Rules and Why The Republican "Bound" Delegates May Not Be?

An email reached our newsroom and it included this statement "the RNC and Team Romney will start pushing new messaging ahead of the President's trip to Ohio on Saturday: Hype and Blame 2012."
Rather than getting into the hype and blame issue, there is a bigger one here.
How are the RNC and Team Romney teaming up while a Republican primary is underway?
Plus, have you ever heard of rule 38? Ben has been telling you for months about the fight for delegates in the Republican race. That fight may have just become more interesting. Especially if the so called "bound" delegates in states across the country are not actually bound at all.

UC Davis Rally was amazing 8-10k people!

I just returned from the UC Davis rally. I am guessing anywhere between 7500-10k people, maybe even more. It was a massive turnout. Ron Paul was fired up and gave a very good speech, our energy and passion in the crowd was evident! Everyone was chanting "President Paul" I felt it was probably bigger than the Berkeley rally so probably closer to 10k. In the back of the open memorial field people were climbing trees to get a look at the good Dr Paul. The energy was amazing. California is for Ron Paul. It looks like we can win this state if everyone gets organized and works for it. The momentum has shifted in the last few weeks. I think we are going to overwhelm the Rinos and Neocons and prevail in the end. History is being made right in front of our eyes, and in the end history will vindicate our fight for freedom! The media and the corrupt establishment can not stop this train. We are not going away, we are only getting stronger and we will win! This is a revolution!!
Welcome all to the Ron Paul Revolution 2012!!!!

Ron Paul victories upsetting the Republican establishment?

Ron Paul's race to the White House isn't over. Earlier this week, Newt Gingrich dropped out of the GOP presidential nominee race leaving only two men standing. Ron Paul said that he still had a fighting chance against Mitt Romney and predicted the delegate vote would change the race. Mary Willison, volunteer organizer and Ron Paul supporter, joins us for more on the congressman's campaign.
I hope that everyone is still excited as hell!

Ron Paul 2012
The MSM is scrambling as hard as they can right now to make damn sure that people do not figure out that Ron Paul's plan to target delegates is working incredibly well and he actually has a legitimate shot at becoming the Republican nominee. Can we really imagine the historical significance of a Ron Paul presidency? That would put us right in the middle of one of the most incredible eras in all of human existance! We could see the beginning of the reemergence of the free market system and study of personal liberties would be the trend across the world!! The excitement and dedication of Ron Paul supporters is going to be what makes his momentum impossible to ignore so I just hope that we all packed a ****in lunch because we gotta be in this one for the long haul.
plus:
I've been dreaming about a Paul vs Obama debate for the last four years! The consequences of that debate would be limitless! Two nights ago Ron Paul destroyed one of the FED's most celebrated economists (Paul Krugman) in a debate. Krugman couldn't even get a single intelligent comment out that had anythig to do with the deficiencies in his defense of FED intervention. Could you imagine a guy like Obama trying to defend his economic policy against Ron?
It would be the most epic verbal ass beating that ever took place! Then the good doctor would prescribe a little stint in constitutional re-education camp for our pinko proffessor of [un]constitutional law.
On a serious note though, can we even imagine the implications of that debate? Watching a commander in chief, who fancies himself a brilliant constitutional scholar, scramble to turn the debate subject away from constitutional authority. That would be the best part though because he would be trying to play the usual msm games of flipping the conversation to worthless personal attacks, but he would run right into the brick wall that is Ron Paul's incorruptibility.
So we would have perhaps the biggest perpetrator of corrupt government hand outs to the politically connected ever to be in the office of the executive, pushing a nationally televised debate into personal attacks against possibly the most irreproachable man to ever hold a national office in American history.
Please be excited because Ron Paul has a legitimate shot at being the Republican nominee and his chances are getting better everyday. We could live through one of the most incredibly great things to ever happen in human history. I truly believe this and i hope you do too.
I hope that everyone is still excited as hell! | Peace . Gold . Liberty | Ron Paul 2012

Important info on the St. Charles Co, MO delegate challenge - the challenge deadline passed
Submitted by joeinmo on Fri, 05/04/2012 - 00:49
That's right, the deadline to challenge was before the redo caucus itself, therefore there can be no challenge to delegates that never were in the first place.
1) Being that the redo St. Charles, MO convention was held on April 10, 2012, there would no way to challenge an entire State Delegation, because one had not been voted on yet by the challenge deadline of March 27th, 2012.
2)And if the rule to extend the date of a challenge was created (never heard of one), it would coincide with the decision to redo the caucus, which if it was being challenged , the deadlinevrule would also be challenged, therefore there would be no extension to file a challenge.
3) The rule only allows a delegate to be challenged, not an entire delegation. You would have to individually challenge every delegate, and I don't think the secretary of the St. Charles County Convention released the names and addresses of a single delegate.
From the State Rules:
1) If contesting a delegate to the State Convention, the challenge must be filed in writing and must be physically in the office of the Missouri Republican State Committee not later than 5 p.m., on Tuesday, March 27th 2012. Challenges may be mailed or hand delivered to 105 East High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Such challenges shall be settled at the State Convention.

Ron Paul is still in the race, and could be able to stir up some trouble at the national convention. This is thanks to a strategy of racking up delegates at state conventions, by taking over state parties and learning how to take advantage of what the Washington Post this week called, "arcane rules".
So what could Ron Paul actually achieve with these delegates? Reason contributor Garrett Quinn joins the show.

http://static01.mediaite.com/med/wp-..._paul_0320.jpg On Thursday’s edition of Laura Ingraham‘s radio show, Congressman Ron Paul explained his skepticism that presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney would be any better than President Obama.
After describing why he thinks it’s silly to assume Romney’s election would be a cure-all, Ingraham pressed Rep. Paul on whether Romney would at least be “better” than the current president:
INGRAHAM: Would you disagree, then, with Giuliani and others when they say that there is no doubt Mitt Romney would be a better president than Barack Obama? He explained that it isn’t that Romney doesn’t necessarily have better ideas, it’s that historically changing parties never seems to truly change anything about how government grows.
PAUL: Yeah, I think, marginally so.
“I think Romney would probably be better on the tax issue,” Paul surmises, but then explains how even though George H.W. Bush was supposed to be “good” on taxes — after all, he said “Read my lips: No new taxes!” — history unfolded otherwise. Paul did concede, however, that Romney’s Supreme Court picks would be more conservative, and thus potentially better than second-term Obama’s picks.
But Dr. Paul’s assessment is largely correct. It’s no secret that the two parties – once you cut through the partisan bickering – implement policy in a very similar fashion, regardless of who is in power. Ronald Reagan, the great “conservative” president, didn’t actually make big spending cuts. Government grows under both parties, and they both generally make a mess of foreign policy and civil liberties.
Heck, just look at look at health-care. The very policy known as “Obamacare” was instituted in a similar fashion by Mitt Romney, then-Governor of Massachusetts. (And hey, remember: the policy was pretty much conceived by Newt Gingrich and the conservative stalwarts at Heritage Foundation.)
There’s no better illustration of the futility of our two-party system than the famous South Park “Vote or Die” episode, in which voters choose between a “Giant Douche” and “Turd Sandwich.”

Delegates
Michigan
we are located in one of the most populated counties ( Wayne) and the only district in the state with one country.
Tonight was as positive night and a preview of things to come in this district. As you know, in Michigan we select delegates 2 years ahead. Despite redistricting and new faces, we managed to get 14 of the 40 delegate spots, but all of thew new delegates that I trained got the first 33 of 40 alternates ! And you know alternates are usually slotted in 5-10 perhaps. I feel good about 1 or 2 of the 3 national delegates and 2 or 3 of the alternates.
In addition, very low turn out for the establishment delegates, so next years new crop of Paul delegates are going to change the face of this district for years to come.

Congressman fills another 4000 seater stadium in California

May 3, 2012
GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul continues to fill stadiums and attract thousands of people to his campaign events, while the establishment is once again becoming concerned about the effect Paul’s success will have on the national convention in Florida.
Paul drew a crowd of over 4000 people at the California State University at Fullerton campus yesterday at the school’s Titan Stadium.
Enthusiastic supporters were queuing around the block to get into the stadium, as the following video captured by one attendee highlights:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyH39Sg95cM&feature=player_embedded
Paul took to the stage to boisterous chants of “President Paul!” and proceeded to outline his ‘Plan to Restore America.’
“Sounds like there’s a revolutionary spirit in town tonight,” Paul said, to thunderous applause. “I’m so encouraged that so many young people saying, ‘Things have got to change.’”
“Our time has come, and it won’t be stopped,” the Congressman noted during a 50-minute long speech. “In the short range, there will be bumps. In the long range, if we are dedicated, we will change this country and we will change the world.”
http://gallery.mailchimp.com/9b8827e...1_500x282_.jpg
http://gallery.mailchimp.com/9b8827e...2_500x280_.jpg
Saying that the economy was the most pressing issue at hand, Paul noted “Things have definitely changed in the last four or five years. People have woken up and realized that we don’t have a sound economic system.”
“The tragedy here in this country is that if you’re on the inside track, you get the benefits when things are going well and you get bailed out when things go bad,” he said.
“If you don’t have confidence in government, it’s a good thing,” Paul said. “You challenge things.”
A portion of Paul’s speech can be viewed below:

Meanwhile, Paul’s refusal to drop out of the presidential race is beginning to cause some concern for establishment Republicans, as the Congressman’s supporters are ensuring that he is stealthily picking up delegates ahead of the national convention.
In the past few days, Paul has registered a number of successes at state committees and conventions in Massachusetts, Minnesota, Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
If Paul can score a plurality of delegates from five states, his supporters could nominate him from the convention floor. At this stage a brokered convention remains highly unlikely. However, with a strong showing among delegates the Congressman’s supporters hope to secure a speaking spot for Paul and some control over the party platform.
Josh Putnam, a professor of political science at Davidson College and expert on delegate procedures, told TPM that Paul’s supporters should “easily” reach the required threshold of delegate pluralities, and warned that the effects could be far reaching.
“Broadly speaking, I don’t think anyone has a firm handle on how deep this goes,” Putnam told TPM. “This is a headache for Romney and they’ll have to deal with it at some point.”
Republican officials are warning that Paul’s supporters are seizing control of the party at the State level.
“It’s down to a matter of trust,” Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Iowa Republican Party told The Hill.
“If you’re the Romney campaign, can you trust the Iowa GOP to work with you? If this delegation is going to go down to the Florida convention and cast their votes for Ron Paul, I think the answer is no. I wouldn’t blame the Romney campaign for being skeptical of working with the Iowa GOP.”
Similar situations are fomenting in several other states as Paul supporters are using the establishment system to their own advantage.
“Taken together, these victories and those yet to happen forecast a prominent role for Ron Paul at the RNC,” Paul campaign manager John Tate said after the Colorado and Minnesota gains. “They also signal that the convention will feature a spirited discussion over whether conservatism will triumph over the status quo.”
The Paul campaign will remain in California for the next few days and will hold several more events. The Congressman will speak at another large on-campus town hall meeting tomorrow at the University of California at Davis. On Friday, he will hold another at the University of California at San Diego.
Details of Dr. Paul’s ongoing campaign swing in the Golden State, including information on how to RSVP, can be found here.

If he has no shot at winning, why are they tripping over themselves about his delegate wins? It's funny how they spin everything, in the article it mentions he could win a chunk of Iowa's delegates...
if 20 out of 28 is only a chunk, then they are right.
That's just ONE example. Furthermore, this isn't a new plan...
he's been telling them all along this was his plan, and they just responded to him during interviews with condecending looks like he was a loon and it would never work.

So the elite in their desperation is trying a different tactic. First they tried blacking out Ron Paul hoping that the nation would forget about him. When they did print a story, it was always bitter sweet. They couldn't give the man credit without making sure to add in a "low-blow", or should I say a back handed compliment.
Now out of their fear, they are starting to crawl out of their mansions and underground bases, calling up their buddies and telling them to report that Ron Paul and his people are cheating and causing "mischief." They're now attacking RP's credibility. I'd ask myself, now why would they want to start painting this picture?
It's pretty simple. Their injection these falsehoods and mind-programing Americans to believe that so when RP has the majority of the delegates they'll just sweep the rug from right under us and flood the media with how Ron Paul people exploited the delegate system, and that we are very few in numbers....They are not stupid..

The decision was made during a meeting of the Nevada Republican Party's executive committee ahead of Saturday's state GOP convention, said Dave Gibbs, the Clark County GOP chairman on the panel.

Ron Paul Will Win Nevada and Change History
Walk into the John Ascuaga Nugget in Sparks, Nevada and you immediately see that there might not be a single more fitting place for what will happen Saturday. An 8-inch high, 18-karat gold rooster graces the entrance lobby and has been there since 1962, when the government returned it to its owner, John Ascuaga.
Claiming that it was just too much gold for one man to own and therefore in violation of the Gold Reserve Act, the rooster was confiscated by the Treasury Department. Many had accepted gold confiscation quietly for the 35 or so years that Roosevelt's gold confiscation act had been in place. Not John Ascuaga.
A drawn out legal battle ensued and ultimately, two years later, the ten men and two women on the jury agreed that the confiscation was unjust. The hard fought battle over the rooster made headlines across the country – as Ascuaga and a jury of his peers told the U.S. government victoriously to mind its own business.
There, near the front door of the Ascuaga Nugget today is the golden rooster, a reminder of the lengths one may go to in order to protect individual liberty from the tyranny of government.
On Saturday, in a vast room in Ascuaga's Nugget, Nevada Republicans will convene a state convention in which Ron Paul supporters will be the majority. That convention will decide 25 of Nevada's 28 delegates to the Republican National Convention. These Ron Paul supporters are battle-hardened warriors who have been through much political fighting over the last five years and have largely come out the victor.
Wednesday, a cranky RNC attorney sent a letter calling for these Ron Paul supporters to be brought in line. In legalese, this letter screamed, "How dare they think an autonomous state party can make its own rules?" The author of the letter, John R. Phillippe, Jr., didn't like hearing that Ron Paul supporters might vote to unbind Nevada's delegates – essentially allowing each national delegate to vote according to his or her conscience.
Maybe the assembly will vote Saturday to unbind the delegates bound by the results of the February 4 caucus. Maybe they won't. Whatever happens, it is very likely that Ron Paul will have a decisive majority from Nevada and from at least four other states.
Under party rules, that is the minimum required to conduct business at the RNC. His name will be brought as a nominee before the assembly. His group can conduct business. Even Fox News predicts that happening.
Forty years in the political wilderness, and Ron Paul will finally be able to conduct business. This is the man who the Huffington Post just called "the most successful presidential candidate in the last couple of decades."
Minnesota and Louisiana look like Paul victories, along with other states from Colorado to possibly even Mitt Romney's home of Massachusetts, but what happens in Nevada on Saturday will be a guide for how many other state conventions will go this year. Nevada will be a guiding light. If Nevada votes to unbind, then other states will follow. If Nevada gets scared, then we should not expect gutsy moves from the less tenacious states. What state is the most important state in the union? California? New York? Texas? The non-state of DC?
Saturday it will be Nevada. Both the Obama and Romney campaigns know the polling data and know that success for Ron Paul, even the slightest, means potential failure for the two of them. Most media sources will not report what happens – they've already erroneously and repeatedly proclaimed that the GOP nominating process is finished. However, many eyes will be watching Nevada. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will be watching Nevada nervously as will their highest level campaign advisors.
But more importantly, every aspiring Ron Paul delegate in the country will be watching Nevada. Call it pioneering, venturing out, or leadership. Whatever name you call it, Nevada Republicans have one of those infrequent opportunities one gets in life to take a risk and show others the way.
On Saturday morning, some 2,000 Nevada Republicans will walk in the door past that golden rooster and few will know the battle fought between a man and his government over that rooster.
Some who walk through that door will have no fight at all in them. But a few will understand. A few will look to that 14-pound piece of gold and be reminded of how important the task at hand is.
Will Nevada Republicans bow to the threats of some DC attorney? Or will they laugh at those threats for the feeble last minute efforts that they are. Where was John R. Phillippe, Jr. four years ago when GOP rules were being violated here in Nevada? Cajoled by the Romney campaign, John R. Phillippe, Jr. doesn't care about GOP rules. He cares about seeing his patron get the nomination.
The battles of four years ago set the stage for this weekend's victory – the culmination of the takeover of the Nevada GOP by the grassroots of the party. Four years ago, the John R. Phillippe, Jrs., could have stopped this from happening, but not today, not days before the inevitable.
Will Nevada Republicans courteously follow the rules of the RNC, the rules of the old guard and insiders? Or will they recognize that their state and its state convention are empowered to make its own rules? I don't know. Whatever they do, other states will follow.
Three hours after they make those decisions, a special guest will come through those doors, passing that same golden rooster. Ron Paul himself will address the Nevada Republican Convention. And no matter how successful his delegates are, he will praise them for being successful. He will praise them and show gratitude because he is grateful. He thought he would spend that entire 40 years wandering in the wilderness alone. But he isn't alone. And what used to be the political wilderness has become mainstream.
But everyone reading this knows that not all results out of Nevada are the same. That gracious man will praise his Nevada supporters either way, but that tenacious fighter in him that kept at it those 40 years wants a win. He wants those 25 unbound delegates from Nevada, followed by 43 unbound delegates from Louisiana, and 37 unbound delegates from Minnesota. After just one vote, the RNC will be a gathering of unbound delegates that no amount of posturing from John R. Phillippe, Jr. will be able to control.
Brokered conventions can be unpredictable – Herbert Hoover walked into the 1920 RNC with only 7% of the delegates on his side before winning the nomination on the tenth ballot and becoming the President five months later. The John R. Phillippe, Jrs. don't like Ron Paul getting a foothold in this process because they fear the will of the Republican national delegates.
If given a choice between two candidates, Mitt Romney might not be the choice of those 2,286 dedicated Republicans gathered in Tampa in late August. If his latest threatening letter is any indication, then John R. Phillippe, Jr. wants to see no choice, wants to see only one nominee when the "nominating convention" meets. The highest levels of the GOP recognize the unpredictability of brokered conventions. What they don't realize is that it's too late for them to effectively intervene to stop Ron Paul's movement.
Where was John R. Phillippe, Jr. four years ago? I didn't see him phone banking in New Hampshire, writing letters into Iowa, or knocking on doors in Nevada. I don't remember hearing his vocal displeasure in the media when state-after-state told Ron Paul supporters they were unwelcome in 2008 and again in 2012. But today, four years too late, in May 2012, John R. Phillippe, Jr., steps forward to insist that everyone play nice.
Ron Paul's supporters will force their way through the door of the RNC. Not with battering rams, but by cleverly using the rules written by the insiders. They will force the issues that matter to them. They will be heard, and they will win. No matter how much I'm told that the John R. Phillippe, Jrs. of the world matter, that message won't sink in. The John R. Phillippe, Jrs. don't matter. The John R. Phillippe, Jrs. can be bought.
Saturday we reach a point of no return. Nevada Republicans will step forward and lead. Will the rest of Ron Paul's supporters follow or leave them to dangle in the wind? Louisiana, Minnesota, Iowa, are next. How many states can John R. Phillippe, Jr. threaten before the rest of the country realizes that the threats of John R. Phillippe, Jr. are as impotent and feeble as I realize him to be.
As a wise man once wrote, "All things splendid have been achieved by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance."
Do these men and women fight today for their freedom or to placate John R. Phillippe, Jr.? The golden rooster, Ascuaga's hotel that I'll sleep in tonight, the whole city of Sparks, the whole state of Nevada -- none of those would exist if bold men and women decided it important to placate the John R. Phillippe, Jrs., of the world.
Ron Paul Will Win Nevada and Change History

“The Ron Paul Revolution Won’t Stop Here”
I have made the case that Ron Paul is not only changing the Republican Party, but is catering to a new, emerging electorate that eschews the big government aspects of both parties. Writing today at CNN.com, Timothy Stanley makes some of the same observations:
Paul’s campaign represents a message that is bigger and perhaps more popular than the candidate himself. As it continues to collect small numbers of delegates and capture control of local GOPs, Paulism is proving itself to be in rude health. Long after Mitt Romney is nominated, feted at the convention, beaten by Obama and recycled as a question on Jeopardy (“In 2012, he lost every state but Utah.” “Who is … Britt Gormley?”), Paul’s philosophy will still be a factor in national politics — something to be feared and courted in equal measure…
I have to declare a great deal of affection for Paul. Unlike other politicians, he seems motivated by ideas — and he communicates his passion with the zeal of a nutty professor detailing the thrilling possibilities of quasars and black holes. This is a doctor who refused to accept Medicare payments but lowered his prices for patients who couldn’t afford him, who declined a government pension and never voted for a tax increase, who told Republicans they need to end the War on Drugs (and most other wars, too). He’s pure…
Paul’s 2012 candidacy has had certain hidden successes. Aside from all the money he raised, Ron Paul also attracted an unusual coalition of young people, libertarian Republicans, and disaffected Democrats — a coalition large enough for him to run even with Obama in some polls. The pull among the kids was big enough to fuel talk of a new generational voting bloc. In Iowa, he took 48% of the under-30s, compared with Santorum’s 23% and Romney’s 14%. In New Hampshire, he got 47%, while Romney took just 26%…
Within the GOP, the Paulites are still the unbeaten masters of the administrative procedure. Last Saturday, they swept a confusing ballot process in Louisiana to give themselves control of 70% of delegates attending the state’s nominating convention, which could mean they end up numerically “winning” Louisiana. Similar things have happened in Minnesota and even Romney’s home state of Massachusetts.
Combine this administrative brilliance with generational politics and you get a silent grass-roots revolution that is putting many Paulites in positions of power. In 2010, more than a dozen of them won elections as Republicans, including Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan and Sen. Rand Paul (son of Ron) of Kentucky. This year, two dozen active Paul backers are seeking election to Congress, along with more than 200 running for local office. The Paulites have effectively taken over the Iowa GOP. The state central committee now has six members who are passionate for Paul, and the head of the local party is now a Paulite. Given the importance of Iowa to the 2016 nomination, this is a coup in every sense.
All of this means the GOP can no longer ignore its libertarian “fringe.” On the contrary, it will have to reach out to a new generation of activists who don’t regard religious piety or continual warfare as sacred tenets of conservatism. Even Romney will have to take Sarah Palin’s advice not to “marginalize” the Paulites if he is to emerge from the nominating convention with a united party.
Whatever happens in 2012, we are living through a significant moment in the history of conservatism. The age of Bush and Obama — twin specters of lavish spending and imperial design — have birthed anti-government movements of right (tea party) and left (Occupy). The one that will last longest and have the most impact is the one that has been the most pragmatic and politically savvy.
The Ron Paul revolution won’t stop here.

Romney Campaign will be invoking Rule 5.2 of the MassGOP "Plan for the Selection of Delegates" to REMOVE Rep. Paul's Delegates
Down Comes the Axe

Redmassgroup.com has confirmed that the Romney Campaign will be invoking Rule 5.2 of the MassGOP "Plan for the Selection of Delegates" to the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida by choosing to "not certify" delegates elected at last Saturdays caucuses under the "Ronald Reagan Unity Liberty Slate" banner.
Emails have been sent to Romney Slate Delegates, many of whom finished in 4th, 5th, and 6th place for one of three delegate slots, informing them that the Romney Campaign would challenge Liberty Slate Delegates, and to be prepared to serve as Delegates in their stead.
Further, RMG has learned that Allocation Committee member, and veteran State Committeewoman Nancy Luther has resigned her spot on the Allocation Committee, and been replaced by State Committee member Matthew Sisk.
Publisher's note: Luther has resigned, Sisk has told Red Mass Group he will not be serving on the allocation committee.
Most observers have interpreted this an effort to ensure that any non-certification of the Liberty Slate Delegates will be upheld by the Allocation Committee upon appeal.
I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so! Full text of Rule 5.2 after the jump.
Paul R. Ferro :: Down Comes the Axe
5.2 "Certified delegate" shall be defined for the purposes of the Plan as having been certified as acceptable by a qualifying Presidential Candidate's state committee, or such presidential candidate's representative on the Allocation Committee, if any. If neither exists, then the delegate may be certified by the Allocation Committee. In the case of a protest or an appeal, the Allocation Committee's ratification or reversal shall be final. An elected delegate shall not be denied certification by a qualifying Presidential Candidate's state committee, or such presidential candidate's representative on the Allocation Committee, if any, without just cause. Any such proposed denial of certification will not be effective unless upheld by a majority vote of the Allocation Committee.

The Romney Faction In Nevada is Already Trying to Shut Down the Convention!

Today, I spent most of my time at the convention on the State Platform Committee with my husband. We made sure there were many planks on the Platform that were Liberty minded. The funny thing is that many of these ideas are shared by the Romney crowd. They just don't know that they actually do support Ron Paul.
Anyway, after the Platform Committee concluded, the three major areas of Nevada caucused separately: Washoe County (Reno), Clark County (Las Vegas), and the rural (cow) counties. I'm a rural. Anyway this guy named Bud Southard, who threw out RRO at the Carson County Convention & trampled on the RP people, got up at the dias & exclaimed that a certain convention rule HAD to be changed so that if they felt the convention was being hijacked by the RP crowd, that THEY could walk out & shut down the convention again, as they did in 2008. He entreated the delegates to support that rule change so that THEIR convention couldn't be hijacked.
I SAW RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and stood up and stated. "Before we are for any candidate, we are republicans, and this is OUR convention. When you walked out four years ago, YOU made a laughingstock of the Nevada Republican party & there were headlines across the country about how YOU STOLE OUR convention & OUR VOTES. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN! WE WILL HAVE OUR CONVENTION. If behavior like yours was allowed to persist, there will be no more conventions! No one would come. The Republican National Committee censured Nevada for what it did at that convention & said it was wrong! THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!" People enthusiastically applauded my statement.
So folks, they are scared of what's going to happen. Word is, that we're going to be in that hall till 9pm. I've heard that Ron is only being given 15 minutes to speak. I think this is going to be one hell of an exciting convention.
If you are a delegate - you BETTER BE THERE!!! If you are an alternate, YOU BETTER BE THERE!!!
Alternates are being seated. If ever there was a battlefield, the Nugget in Sparks, NV will be one.
Please send all your good thoughts & prayers for us tomorrow. I'll be shooting video & will also give a play-by-play when I can.
Love & Liberty,
Cynthia Kennedy

U.C.S.D. Rally!

Hello all, I have just returned with several friends from attending the Ron Paul Rally at UCSD and it. was. awesome. Great crowd full of great conversations - I heard a lot of new stories, and a few times I laughed at how common this phrase was echoed, "That's awesome, most people don't know that, I AM SO GLAD YOU DO!!!"
The movement is well on its way, folks. I can tell you that for sure. Shame on me but I wasn't aware of Ron Paul until the debates in September and now having seen the movement first hand once at UCLA and again at UCSD, knowledge is flowing, morning eyes are being wiped, and the new day is shining bright.
Keep fighting, keep pushing, and if nothing else, keep talking.
I love you, all.
P.s. - Crowd size was about 1,000+, hard to tell for sure since everyone was standing. I also left my phone/camera in the car, so sadly I cannot post how close I was to the stage - perhaps I will be in some shots as I was behind Paul holding a "REVOLUTION" sign.
