ENDORSED: Michael Snyder, Republican, Idaho, District 1
As a candidate for election or reelection do you...
A. Support Americans and legal immigrants by supporting the adequate enforcement of America's existing border and immigration laws as the US Constitution requires for the protection of American jobs, elections, taxpayer resources, health, and lives?
B. Support illegal aliens and their supporters by supporting changing existing laws to accommodate millions of illegal immigrants through 'immigration reform', DACA, Dream Act, or Comprehensive Amnesty which would allow illegal aliens to either have a path to citizenship, a new visa, or some new form of legal status which would eventually lead to a new voting bloc of 11-20 million illegal immigrants, which would in turn destroy any future hopes of border or immigration law existence or enforcement by handing permanent political power to the Democrats and Socialists?

I actually e-mailed Michael Snyder a couple of days ago asking for clarification of his positions. His position statement on his website suggests that our legal immigration system is broken even though it naturalizes 700k-1M new citizens a year and provides millions more with legal access for work, study, or leisure.
I'd like to see him vocalize some of these things. As our House rep, he can't get away with the "build the wall" euphemism, he has to get into details and show me he understands the stakes. He says "We need to ensure that everyone comes in through the front door", which sounds an awful lot like "everyone comes in". I'm extremely interested in his position on DACA and the DREAM Act, and what he would have done about DACA. I would add that his position statement only addresses the border, nothing here about interior enforcement or mass repatriation of the foreign nationals.
The rest of the platform looks great, just need more detail here. I think you threw him a bone with the A or B choice, but at least you asked!
Immigration - I Will Help President Trump Build The Wall
America is a land of immigrants, but the way that we are approaching immigration today is entirely messed up. We make it exceedingly difficult to come in legally through the front door, but meanwhile we are leaving the back door completely wide open for criminals, gang members, drug dealers and those that want to abuse the system. So we are keeping out the hard working, law-abiding people that we should want to come to this country, and we are allowing in law breakers that are causing havoc in communities all over America. We need to ensure that everyone comes in through the front door, and that is why I support President Trump's call for a border wall and greatly increased security along our southern border.

"We make it exceedingly difficult to come in legally through the front door, "
---------------------------
It should be "extremely difficult" to come here. We do not want to make it easy, charge $10 bucks a head, and allow 2 billion people on the planet to come here!
No Public Charge...no welfare or food stamps
No diseases
No medical issues or FREE healthcare
Speak, read and write English
Respect our Flag
Respect our religious choices
Extreme vetting
No chain migration. Miss your family? Then do not come here!
Do not bring your backwards culture or ideas here...they are not welcome!
We want less immigration!
We want a 10 year moratorium!
We want the border shut down and NO illegal aliens, no TPS, no asylum and no refugees!
LET SOME OTHER COUNTRY TAKE THEM IN!
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL

There are a great many Youtube videos with Michael Snyder. Still searching for more detail around his positions on illegal immigration. I see Rand Paul endorsed him too, but I suspect that's more around the AuditTheFed/EndTheFed position.
There's a big field but for anyone still looking to feel better about this vote, check out Snyder's CDA debate from January and the Hagmann Report interview.
He's from Northern Virginia/DC, is a lawyer, moved to Bonner County in 2012 (northernmost county in Idaho bordering Canada, very rural), and now we're considering sending him back to D.C. as our representative? Some of his positions are almost "too perfect" so I suppose I'm cautious this is a setup.
I want to vote for this guy but I feel like we don't know enough about him. I imagine he looked on a map for the most rural place in America and moved there so he could run but will he stay true to those positions once there? Maybe it's better he has already been there and came to the same conclusions the rest of us here in the redoubt did before moving here.
He's the only one at the CDA debate who said he'd vote to End the Fed too, which is in the ID GOP platform. Unless I find something disqualifying between now and tomorrow, I think I'm giving him my vote.
Did you see NumbersUSA endorsed Cantor-list Labrador for Governor today? Labrador just sponsored DACA amnesty in January 2018. Little called him out there and Labrador is calling people saying Little is lying in a backhanded "survey" approach. Rosemary Jenks at CIS/NumbersUSA supported DACA amnesty around that time too so it tracks. Just sad to see them capitulate.
Given the importance State Governors have played in halting DAPA, DACA+, and soon DACA (Texas v US, later renamed US v Texas at Supreme Court), who does ALIPAC endorse in the Idaho gubernatorial race? We think current Lt. Governor, Brad Little is best, but is there any reason ALIPAC knows not to vote for him?Last edited by synaptic; 05-15-2018 at 02:29 AM. Reason: Added Labrador/Little paragraphs
