GA: DUI, Manslaughter illegal escapes from hospital

    http://www.wsbtv.com/news/26904247/detail.html

Gwinnett County police are searching for a DUI and vehicular manslaughter suspect who slipped out of a hospital where he was being treated. The family of his alleged victim is distraught.

"This suspect shouldn't have been left alone at all," said Demetria Gholston, mother of the manslaughter victim.

Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Brayan Rivera, who may be in the country illegally. His case unfolded in the early-morning hours of Dec.12, when he was involved in a drunken driving crash on Interstate 85 near Jimmy Carter Boulevard, police said. They said Rivera struck a car carrying 22-year-old Joshua Keith, of Norcross, and his girlfriend.
What makes this even worse is they sat on this story for two months. This drunken driver will be far away out of the country by now.

When such an offender is hospitalized, always an armed security guard or police officer stays with him or her and restraints are used to secure an offender while under going hospital treatments most of the time, or depends on type of medical treatments received restraints may be removed, but the guard never leave offender alone.
When you aid and support criminals, you live a criminal life style yourself:

The cop said they dont normaly post guards for D.U.I.s. This was a FELONY manslaughter case. I know the poor girl was not dead when they brought her in, but I am sure they had a good idea she would not make it. Those moron cops couldn't cuff him to the bed? Obviously he did not get hurt bad if he just booked on outta there.

Nope, I'm betting just a new ID and a name change and he's living the next state over. I'm betting they didn't even fingerprint the illegal yet waiting for the illegal to recover after all it was just a DUI.... not like anyone important was hurt right?

I am the mother of the Victim, Joshua Keith

I am the mother of the victim, Joshua Keith, and I am outraged. This case has caused me anger beyond measure at our entire system. I plan to fight to the end until the laws in our country have been changed on DUI and Illegal Immigration! I am starting an organization in my son's honor called, BLEAVE N KEEZ FOUNDATION, to fight. Thanks for all of your posts on this serious matter and continued support of changing our laws.

Demetria, God Bless You on your loss. Our hearts are all with you. When I worked as a dialysis nurse, one of my patients showed up one morning in jail clothing complete with a deputy from the jail with her. She was handcuffed to the chair while the deputy sat close by, and my patient never left her sight. Also in other clinics I've seen inmates handcuffed with their deputy close by. I don't understand why he wasn't handcuffed, or restrained in some matter, either. Even in the prisons themselves, patients are handcuffed and escorted to medical services and the deputy never leaves the room.
