I’ve forgiven the man who killed my 16-year-old daughter in a car accident in 2007. Tessa was killed by an illegal immigrant in Virginia Beach while sitting at a stop light. Her friend, Ali Kunhardt, 17, also perished instantly. The explosion was so loud that witnesses said it sounded like a bomb going off. They were hit from behind by a car traveling over 70 mph and driven by Alfredo Ramos, a previous DUI offender and alcoholic.

Tessa and Ali were beautiful girls with tons of future plans. They were skinny little girls, stuffed somewhere in the floorboards when the police and EMT crew arrived.

When I got to the hospital, the friends were lying in beds, separated by a privacy curtain. Both were perfectly still, skin cold to the touch. The EMTs and ER doctor could not save them.

Like Ramos did, hundreds of thousands of illegals in Virginia provide cheap labor to merchants, all invisible in a system good at looking the other way. Virginia doesn’t share a border with Mexico, so awareness isn’t as great here as in Arizona and California. Again and again, however, that system fails Americans. There have been hundreds of similar stories since Tessa and Ali died.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has said she will get to the bottom of why illegals are not deported when they are repeat offenders, as Ramos was. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison and was actually smug at the trial.

Through my experience, I have some advice about what must be done to solve the problem of illegal immigration. I now know what “sanctuary cityâ€

I sit here with tears in my eyes for your loss. The lives these girls touched will never be the same. 40 years, so a life is worth 20 years, with possible early release. My God, what a message.
We can and need to get all illegals out of our country. It doesn't matter if they commit a crime here or not. We can do it with the immigration laws in place. It's what Americans want, and Democrates are scared of.
We can't stop trying.
I know it's not right, but I wish it would happen to one of our senator's or congressmen's families. This doesn't strike home to them because they are protected unlike the rest of us. Pelosi, Reid and Obama will never "get it". They don't have to.

I am sorry for your loss. This sad scenario will keep being repeated until our govt decides who elected them and defend our country and borders like they swore to do!!! My son was shot by illegals in the sanctuary zone of the northwest,when he was 11 yrs old,in broad daylight,less than a block from our home! Thankfully,he got to grow up to be a construction worker who's job has been taken by illegal immigrants!

That is awful, and here illegal immigration supporters come up with the excuse of "Well we have a lot of Americans who are criminals and system drainers too!". Like we need thousands if not millions more criminals like this Ramos guy from other countries rushing this place! That is exactly right, we already have a crap load of our own criminals here and Mexico just has to double those numbers! Anyone can see that if our government officials had a lick of sense and did not pet these foreign criminals, these girls would still be alive today!

Move to new section for Americans Killed By illegals.

Illegal aliens should NOT be on our soil, let alone driving on our roads.

They are driving 5,000 lb and over vehicles, murder weapons, driving on our roads and causing horrific car accidents all across America and many of these accidents result in the death of our citizens.

They drink and drive, they are stinking drunk, they do not care if they break our traffic laws. They drive the wrong way on our roads.

They disrespect our country, our laws, and our roads.

They should have NO drivers' licenses. They should be deported.

They do not maintain their vehicles, they cannot read, write, or speak English, how do they read the road signs!

They do not keep auto insurance, many of their tags are expired.

Our car insurance rates keep rising. We are left cleaning up the pieces and footing the bill for the slaughter against us and destruction of our vehicles! We pay the price, they do not.

Our motor vehicle departments should have booklets and tests in ENGLISH ONLY for legal U.S. citizens. And not one illegal alien should possess a driver's license or vehicle in this country.

They should not have bank accounts or be permitted to buy any vehicles!
