VA: Man Allegedly Strangled by Deported Immigrant
Man Allegedly Strangled by Deported Immigrant
September 5, 2007 - 7:27pm
MANASSAS, Va. - A man faces murder charges after a fight turned deadly Sunday in Prince William County. Police say Christian Molina, 30, was here illegally and had been deported twice from the U.S. this decade.
On Sunday night, police were called to a home on Dumfries Road in Manassas after two men got into a fight. Police say Molina allegedly choked 51-year-old Ronald Hollingsworth.
Another man called 911 when he realized Hollingsworth was not moving.
Erika Hernandez with Prince William County Police says Molina was here illegally and is being held without bond.
He had been deported back in 2003 and again in 2005. The second time because of a lack of legal status combined with criminal activity.
He'll be in court again next month.

Man, 51, choked to death

A twice-deported Salvadoran immigrant was charged with strangling an acquaintance during a fight Sunday, Prince William County police said Wednesday.
Christian Molina, also known as Jose Maximino Flores-Perales, 30, of 9011 Whispering Pine Court, Manassas, was charged with the murder of 51-year-old Ronald Dean Hollingsworth.
The two men were at a mutual friend's house at 10625 Dumfries Road - a rundown house near a gas station by Old Dominion Speedway. The two had been drinking when they began to fight, Hernandez said. Molina then strangled Hollingsworth, police said.
A third man, whose name was not released, was also at the house and called 911 when he realized Hollingsworth was not moving, police said. Around 5:20 p.m., police responded to the call of an unconscious man and Hollingsworth was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Hollingsworth apparently lived in an abandoned, boarded-up shack near the house where his body was found, police said.
No one answered the door at the house on Dumfries Road on Wednesday evening.
Police arrested Molina after the Medical Examiner's autopsy revealed that Hollingsworth's injures were consistent with strangulation, Hernandez said.
After fingerprinting Molina, police learned that he was deported in 2003 and 2005 because of his illegal status and for criminal activity, Hernandez said.
Molina is being held without bond pending an Oct. 16 court date. Police have obtained an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer for Molina.

Gee, ya think this deportation will stick?
This is disgusting! Why wasn't this illegal charged with illegally coming back after being deported once already?
I hope the people of Manassas throw this in the face of all those parasites saying "we're just here working, making a better life for ourselves".
DISGUSTING!

Language barrier led to strangling
By AMANDA STEWART

A fight that left one man dead in September stemmed from a language barrier, according to court testimony Thursday.
In Prince William Circuit Court on Thursday, Christian Molina, 30, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for strangling 51-year-old Ronald Dean Hollingsworth to death during a fight.
Defense attorney Dan Lopez said the fight started because of a miscommunication between Molina, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who does not speak much English, and the other men.
On the afternoon of Sept. 2, Hollingsworth, Molina and a third man were drinking at a house at 10625 Dumfries Road in the Manassas area when they started talking about evolution, Lopez said.
"Someone brought up homo sapiens and [Molina] thought they were calling him homosexual," Lopez said.
The men then began fighting.
Molina eventually "gained the advantage" in the fight and put Hollingsworth in "a sleeper hold … a strangling move," Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Elizabeth Millette said.
Hollingsworth then lost consciousness and Molina and the other man "assumed he had passed out from drinking," Millette said.
About 20 minutes later, they discovered that Hollingsworth was not breathing and called 911, Millette said.
Molina, who has been deported twice before, initially gave police two false names. His true identity was discovered through fingerprinting, police said.
In October, Molina was sentenced to serve one month of a 12-month jail sentence on a false identification charge, a misdemeanor.
He is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
Molina is scheduled to be sentenced for the voluntary manslaughter charge on March 6.
Prosecutors recommended that he serve six years of a 10-year prison sentence.

Oh I get it. So now it's gonna be Hollingsworth's fault because he didn't speak spanish. I guess the dirt-bags reentry into the U.S. was also a misunderstanding. We need to deport these freaks further down south. Like all the way to Antartica.

Quite obviously this also was due to a language barrier
Luckily the good tax paying citizens of Prince William County will get to financially support Molina for another few years.

So it's OK to kill someone if you think they called you a homosexual?
