The fact that this bill was stopped, where it had the most strength in the Senate, represents a political paradigm shift in favor of the majority of American citizens, which are demanding enforcement of existing American immigration laws.
I am so encouraged by the results of this Amnesty defeat! Good for the American people who are truly considering the future of this nation.
Here's what I think ought to be our future thrust:
1. Secure the border
2. Enforce our existing laws
3. Take on Mexico about its responsibility for its own people. Maybe Americans should agree that until Mexico shows an interest in doing that, we should refrain from visiting Mexico as tourists. Money talks!
4. Encourage all Americans to help with the cost of building the border fence. Lou Dobbs was just saying that we won't have border securing until 2010 or 2012. That's frightening. Our schools and hospitals and social services will be even more overwhelmed than they are now.
At any rate, all of us need to take the next step and keep the pressure on.
WILLIAM, you are just a PRINCE. We appreciate your leadership so much.
Let's not get too comfortable here. I read an article in the Washington Times that states that the Bush boy is trying as hard as he can to get this bill passed. He has made phone calls from Air Force 1 to Senate Majority Leader Reid to get the bill back on the floor and passed.
Here is the link to the article:

Whatever his secret agenda is, he is certainly pushing for this amnesty! Could be he's trying to get the NAU in the works before he leaves office. Jimmy Carter is so right in his statement, "This is the worst president ever!"
