I just received this message from Jim Schollaert of www.amtacdc.org
and thought I would forward this to everyone here. Please call your senators and advise them to go this meeting.

This message was sent to Congressional Offices today by Congressman Howard Cobel (R-NC) and Congressman John Spratt (D-SC) It would not be a bad idea to call your Congressman and make the point that they should attend this debate about CAFTA sponsored by the House Textile Caucus on May 24, at 1:30 - 3:00. In Rayburn 2237. Jim

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT CAFTA-DR?

Dear Colleague,

As Co-Chairmen of the bipartisan House Textile Caucus, we cordially invite you to attend a CAFTA-DR panel discussion as the trade agreement pertains to textiles. For the first time on Capitol Hill, industry supporters and opponents will gather in one venue to debate the agreement's ramifications, as well as answer your questions about the merits of the textile specific provisions.

We anticipate either the U.S. Trade Representative's (USTR) office or the Department of Commerce to engage in the dialogue, along with representatives from:

American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA)

American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition (AMTAC)

National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO)

National Textile Association (NTA)

UNITEHERE

This discussion will occur in Room 2237 RHOB from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM on May 24. Our goal is that the meeting format will ensure that all sides of the textile debate, with respect to CAFTA-DR, are adequately and equitably represented.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to RSVP, please contact Robbie Boone with Representative Howard Coble (x5-3065) or Ellen Buchanan with Representative John Spratt (x5-5501).

Sincerely,

JOHN M. SPRATT HOWARD COBLE
