The Sellout Senators and the White House are making their AMNESTY move TODAY! They are rolling out a new bill S. 1639. This bill is about the same as the old bill S. 1348, except it has some amendments added to cut deals with some Senators!

1. Call our targeted offices. Please call Senators Chambliss and Isakson from Georgia to thank and praise them for announcing their opposition to "Amnesty bills S. 1348 and S. 1639"

Please call UTAH Senators Robert Bennett & Orrin Hatch and New Hampshire Senators Judd Gregg & John Sununu.

Tell them

"I want Senator ____ to oppose Amnesty for illegals and VOTE NO ON CLOTURE for S. 1348, S. 1639, or whatever you want to call it! Senator _____ should enforce our existing immigration laws instead. Americans are going to hold protests outside of any Senator's office that votes YES on CLOTURE for these amnesty bills."

2. Contact ALL SENATORS DISTRICT AND DC OFFICES.

TELL THEM NO ON CLOTURE. INSIST THAT A YES VOTE ON CLOTURE IS A VOTE FOR AMNESTY.

Several of these Sellout Senators, like Lamar Alexander of TN, think they can dupe the public by claiming a yes vote on Cloture was not a vote in support of this bill or amnesty. You have to correct that. Be strong, be insistent, be polite.

YOU MUST TELL THE SENATORS "THERE WILL BE PROTESTS OUTSIDE OF STATE OFFICES FOR ANY SENATOR THAT VOTES YES ON CLOTURE FOR THESE AMNESTY BILLS"

If staff says anything to you about being from another state say something like...

"My campaign contributions spend well in any state."

"Um, I'm sorry but doesn't Senator ____ spend my taxes too?"

"Not listening because I'm from another state eh? Is Senator ____ up for reelection in 2008? If so, who is running against him? I'd like to make a donation to his opponent today. Do you know where I can find that information?"

Hi fiona - welcome aboard!

That's a good question. To be honest, I've been out of the loop here for the last few days, and I wish I had a 100% solid answer for you - but don't.

My hunch is: the cloture vote would be for the newly-introduced version of the old bill. It hasn't had any floor debate yet (has it been formally introduced yet...?) so I think all the attention here now relates to the new bill and the old one is thought to be faded into the background...

It appears that the only way to revisit the Amnesty Bill was to issue it under a new number. It had to has to do with the legislative rules. You can tell them to Vote no on Cloture for 1639 but if you say 1348, they will know what you are talking about.
