Mr Spitzer,

I am enraged by your continued labelling of anyone that does not agree with your rediculous plan to reward ILLEGAL aliens with drivers licenses as racist. I am an independent, college educated voter, who in fact, voted for you. My vote for you was based on you being different than every other corrupt, no-good politician that does what 'they' want instead of what 'the people' who elected them want. You will never get my vote again, and I hope that you are somehow removed from office.

Me a racist? hardly....its called common sense, of which it seems, you do not possess. My grandparents came to this country, LEGALLY, from Italy. They were documented, worked hard, paid their taxes, learned English and never expected a handout or reward from the Government. UNLIKE those here ILLEGALY, who break our laws, do not pay their taxes, abuse the 14th ammendement and have anchor babies who we have to pay for, fill up our schools with Children who we have to pay for, flood our Hospitals then don't pay their bills so we have to pay. ENOUGH already.

Anyone who wants to immigrate to the US should have one option, to come here legally, learn our language, pay their taxes and become a citizen. I don't care if you are doing work that supposedly no one else will do. No one else will do it because they do it for less money and don't pay taxes. If they were not here, someone would do it for more money.

If you want to do something for New York residents, lets start with my $10,000 property tax here on Long Island. How about 8.75% sales tax, one of the highest in the country. How about my income tax, gas tax, phone tax, cable tax, liquor tax, MTA tolls...that all seem to pay for Long Island roads that are full of traffic 24/7.

You are a disgrace to the office of Governor. Lou Dobbs should be Governor as he possesses the COMMON SENSE that every politician should have.

THE ACLU, you, and all other pro-ILLEGAL immigration groups should all be investigated for allowing people in this country illegally, supporting them, allowing them to NOT pay taxes, allowing them to suck our tax-base dry while trying to reward them with licenses, 'free' healthcare for them, citizenship for their children that, in my eyes, should not be here.

Racist? Please, it is obvious you are reaching for any excuse to lable the Majority of New Yorkers that are fed up with BROKEN NEW YORK STATE Goverment. Issuing a legal driver's license to an illegal immigrant in the United States is a slap in the face of all legal Americans! I ask you to re-evaluate your position on this subject and to change your decision. Racism is not the driving force behind such a request, but respect for our American laws. When you officially became governor of New York, you took an oath to uphold the laws of your state and America. Have you now decided that those laws are no longer worthy of defending, nor worth the sacrifice of our forefathers? Will the history books of the future record that decisions you made and action you took as governor were un-American? The citizens of American are watching to see what you decide to do.

I and approximately 80% of this country disagree with giving illegal immigrants all the freebies and breaks that they continue to get. By approving of a criminal to get a license is one of the utmost unpatriotic acts imaginable to all of us normal average Americans that actually have to follow the laws of this country. Governor, what you and your ilk are to blind to see is that the American public is tired of paying the way for criminals that do not appreciate or respect anything that has been done or given to them. We are tired of going without, while people that shouldn't even be here continue to get things that legal citizens can't get anymore because there are to many of them stealing from our country. I hope they vote you and others with your agenda of selling your country down the river OUT of office. We need people in office that actually care about the LEGAL LAW ABIDING TAX PAYING CITIZENS THAT ACTUALLY BELONG HERE, not a thief in the night who snuck across our border and then refuses to leave. Incidentally, we should all keep up the pressure on Spitzer. He had a 60% approval rating in February that plunged to 47% in July ... and he has so many other fish to fry, including his possible implication in the "Troopergate" scandal which has yet to be fleshed out fully. In short, he's running out of political capital ... and the decisions he's making now in an attempt to appease liberal voters is beginning to backfire on him.

My grandfather flew 56 bombing missions against Nazi Germany. She also worked as General Eisenhower's personal secretary during the war, risking her life to sneak to the switchboard everyday. I cannot believe that you would attack Mr. Dobbs with such venom over the issue of a drivers license to illegal aliens. They broke the law the minute that they stepped over our border, they are criminals. Many of these people have committed further crimes in this country from theft to murder. Many have killed our citizens by driving with or without a drivers license.You are acting like a small child throwing a tantrum because he did not get his own way. The only reason that you would want to do this would be to garner votes at election time. A second term for you is out of the question after this debacle.

This is not exactly the way it was originally written in words, nor in the same order of ideas, but it is close to what I was trying to get across.

How Dare You! Any one who disagrees with you is a “Venomous Racistâ€

I wrote the 'honorable' Gov. Spitzer AGAIN! I told him that I did not appreciate him calling me a Racist and bigot. I said that he was elected to serve, protect and uphold the laws of New York and this country. And if he were down here in the south that we would hold him to it!

He is focusing on the parts of the legislation that make it easier for up-state NY'er to cross the border into Canada. Which of course is fine! But, hey dude! What about rewarding criminal behavior! Duh!!!

I think it's unbelievable that you are overriding the will of the people to give driver licenses to undocumented immigrants.

If illegan immigrants can get a license without paperwork PROVING who they are, then why require paperwork for American Citizens?

Prefering one race or ethnicity over others is racist.

Shame on you for not upholding the will of the people who elected you.

Dear Gov Spitzer;

With people in government like you , we do not need enemies. When people like you, know you cannot win the debate you pull the race`card. It is not racist to stand up for your country. Mr Dobbs is not a racist.

We have laws that need to be obeyed. We can not pick and choose what laws we like and which ones we don't. This is the reason we have the problems we have with ILLEGALS. Your crusade to champion illegal immigration has caught my attention here in North Carolina, where we also have a major problem with illegal immigrants. Your attempt to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens has dangerous implications to the security of citizens in every state of the USA, and I strongly resent this disregard for my safety. What I find most outrageous and aggravating, however, is that you dare to label those who disagree with you as "racist." I also stated that its funny that 72 percent of new yorkers, 80 percent of americans have already said they dont want it. I mentioned the defeat of the amnesty bills twice this summer at the federal level and the defeat last week of the Dream act as proof that americans have HAD ENOUGH.

Never mind what you say anymore. Democrats only want illegals to be documented in order to get their votes. Everyone is coming to know this--it shows your true colors.

All further arguments with a large number of current politicians seem superfluous, don't they? It's always the golden fleece they are after.

Sir I believe it is unfair of you to accuse the American public that doesn't want the illegals taking over our country, racist. These illegals are already getting benefits; paid for by tax payers; that a veteran of a foriegn war cannot get. I lost a child in the emergency room due to the over abundance of illegals in the ER. I guess you and other supporters of the invasion do not realize the amount of struggle the illegals cause the working class. It is an invasion period. It makes me sad that a country I fought for is slowly falling apart. My surrviving children's future looks very unsettling. The problem keeps getting worse and our poloticians are going to gift wrap our country. I wish you would remember the people that matter. You were already elected into office with out the illegal votes, so why do you worry so?
