CALL SENATOR ALEXANDER, SENATOR BOB CORKER OF TENNESSEE
Psalm 139:14
Call Gregg of NH and let him know Sununu is voting NO!
Call Sununu and get more confirmation on his NO vote.
Also, call the Utah Senators and let them have it! They can be swayed and we need to stop that!
Don't forget the Dems on the first post!!! They need to hear it, too--I'm hitting them on American wages being suppressed secondary to a flood of cheap labor and our hard-earned taxpayer dollars being given away to subsidize their healthcare, schooling, housing, food stamps, etc...
[b]If you've exhausted yourself on Republicans!
DEMOCRAT TALKING POINTS!
~~Do not discuss AMNESTY when talking to Democrats!~~
#1--Tell the Senators a vote "yes" on cloture is vote for this bill and we will hold them accountable for this vote.
***The Senators need to know they cannot hide behind a "no" vote on the final bill and get away with it!!! The cloture vote IS the only vote that counts!
Mention any of these:
#2--The guest worker provisions in this bill will harm American workers, our poor, and those who are unemployed, and will depress wages for Americans! This is unacceptable!
#3--How dare the U.S. Senate plan on giving anymore of my hard-earned tax dollars for entitlements and freebies to illegal aliens and their extended families!
*** I resent it. My family resents it. I have worked hard my entire life to raise and school my children, pay my health insurance, and own my home. American citizens are fed up with their hard work going to provide free healthcare, education, food stamps and subsidized housing and utilities to people who entered this country illegally! To illegal lawbreakers! What about my family??? How dare the Senators represent foreign interests while turning their backs on hard-working American taxpayers!!!
#4--S1639 does no more to close the border or protect national security than S1348!!! The Senate leadership has shown they are insincere and without shame in trying to fool the American people into believing this bill benefits U.S. legal citizens!
~~~The proposed additional amendments do not even attempt to close any of the obvious loopholes in border security or national security, therefore, the Grand Bargainers are not concerned about protecting American citizens.
***Legalization before security
***Grants legal status (Z visas) whether or not background checks are completed.
***Bars some types of criminals, but not all, from being legalized!!!
***Tracking system for visitors or guest workers does not have an "exit system" in place to be sure that people are leaving the country.
#5--No amendments they tack on can fix this bill and will surely be voted down.
***The Senators know it and our playing games that they are not going to get away with!
#6--This bill is the Grant Sell-Out of America!!!
***The Senate leadership is using procedures & rules in unprecedented ways to shove this bill through Congress, and against the will of the American people, into law!!!
FINISH with: The only acceptable solution is to immediately secure the border and enforce existing law as 80% of the American citizens are demanding!
Senator Tester's office "said he is still opposed to the bill" No comment on cloture though!
Left voicemails and sent emails to both senators.Quote:
Left Voicemail with Hatch's office.
Senator Alexander's Washington office is busy, I guess Kitty is tying to educated other "not too bright Americans :roll: " I have still not received my return call from her as to why the different offices say different things.
I left messages at the Nashville and Chattanooga Offices. Knoxville, TN office was busy also.
I called Senator Hatch's Salt Lake City Office and asked them how he would vote on cloture. They said not sure yet, but he voted NO last time on cloture. I wanted to be added as a NO on cloture and NO on the bill. She requested my name and address. When she found I was out of state she only wanted name and zip code. She was pleasant too, that was refreshing.
This is on Senator Hatch's website if some of you have not read it - you might use his own words back to his offices
HATCH: DON'T END IMMIGRATION DEBATE
Washington – Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) today issued the following statement after voting against cutting off debate on comprehensive immigration reform late Thursday night:
“I couldn’t support the bill the sponsors tried to force through last night. The good in it was completely overshadowed by its glaring flaws. Some of its provisions are unworkable and ineffective. And most people believe it is far too lenient on those who broke the law to get here, and we must be fair to those who are in the process of immigrating the right way.
“That doesn’t mean the status quo is acceptable. It isn’t! Our borders must be secured through capable and workable enforcement practices. A limited guest worker program must be created for our American – and specifically Utah – businesses in need of foreign workers. I believe we can find a fair, compassionate and lawful way to deal with the illegal immigrants already in this country, most of whom are decent, hard-working people. And for any immigration system to work, we must distribute visas and green cards in a more fair and efficient way.
“Our immigration problems have been dramatically increasing over the course of more than two decades. It will take more than the week and a half the Democratic leadership allowed to pass a bill, since we have such a wide array of views in the Senate. We should not quit trying to solve these problems, and we need more time to reach a consensus that Utahns and people throughout America could accept.â€
This list of senators to focus on is from Kate O'Beirne from the National Review Online. Make sure they're included in your calls:
"Based on talking with well-informed sources, this is the most accurate list I've seen of the Republican senators whose intentions are unknown and whose support will be needed in order to defeat cloture: Richard Burr (N.C.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kit Bond (Mo.), Pat Roberts (Kan.), Gordon Smith (Ore.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Mike Crapo (Idaho), Norm Coleman (Min.), Kay Bailey Hutchison (Tex.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Bob Bennett (Utah), and John Sununu (N.H.). (And opponents hope they can count on about a dozen Democrats)."
Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, the Junior Senator under Lamar Alexander needs to be called as well. His name, Senator Alexander's and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson are all on that amendment "TOUCHBACK."
Let's not forget the little people who the senior Senators said they would steam roll over.
EMAIL AND CALL TALK RADIO TODAY TOO - THERE WE CAN REACH MILLIONS
Psalm 91
W is on the Al Rantel show now, stressing that we have to act as though vote is going on now, every time they even talk about bringing this up, we have to light up the phones to show our opposition.
---------
Note, Al Rantel cited Zogby poll and said only 3% of Americans support this bill; actually (along the same lines) only 3% of Americans view Congress's handling of the immigration issue in favorable terms:
For So Cal people, talk radio host John Ziegler said last night that he is supposed to have Sen. James Inhofe on his show tonight (Thursday) during the 8:00 pm hour. Listen live at: http://www.kfi640.com/main.html
Keep working Patriots!
We are making a difference!
We have defeated this once, we will defeat it again!
Don't stop calling!
Don't stop emailing!
Don't stop faxing!
We are getting the message through!
Keep up the good work!
Also, contact radio show hosts and have them BLAST this all over the airwaves! More people will rally to our side and oppose this bill when they hear what is going on!
Fight on Patriots!
I just finished e-mailing every senator on the master list, it didn't take too long thanks to my handy dandy Netscape form manager for my info and copy and paste for my message. After a lunch break I'll hit the phones. LET'S MAKE A MIGHTY ROAR!!! :D
Thanks cracker!!! welcome to the thread...let us know how your phones call go! :lol:
I called a bunch of the names listed under this new reported "sell your soul for an amendment in return for cloture" deal that McConnel and Reid are pushing.
Results of my calls today-
No one at the offices claimed to know anything about any deal on amendments for cloture or S1639. Hmmm. I expressed extreme skepticism with each staffer and told them I don't trust anyone on this, just vote NO on cloture, and don't take any deals.
Ensign - they claim he will be voting NO on cloture, no amendment deal
Webb - would not reveal plans, I whacked him on his campaigning to be a man of the people, those kinds don't vote for amnesty, and he better not
Hutchison - they claim she will vote NO on cloture, no amendment deal
Grassley - they claim he will vote NO on cloture
Thune - they claim he will vote NO on cloture
Coleman - would not articulate a position, I told them he's gone in 17 months if he votes for cloture. Where's the fence!!
So either this deal really is not imminent, or the staffers are being kept in the dark or they are lying. Take your pick. But keep calling.
I called Webb, Sanders & Baucus and said I expected them to stand up for old-fashioned Democratic values--the working man and that this mass of new workers will continue to suppress American workers' wages. Also, tired of paying my taxes in entitlements to them when I need money to raise my kids, pay my mortgage, etc...They do seem to be listening and said as far as they know Sanders and Baucus have not changed their position--Webb--she couldn't say because he wanted to see the amendments & add his own amendment added. I said if it were any good it would be stripped anyway!!!
You got it , Dixie, fingers bleeding..........but am continuing on! :lol:Quote:
We have to keep pounding the phones!
Keep up the great work!
I am going back to the original list at the top of this thread and working my way down it all day!
Go Get em AMERICA!!!!!!!!!
Just called Joe Biden, Tom Harkin, Mark Pryor (probably still a NO), and Dick Durbin (very nasty young lady) and I'm asking what has happened to my party, why don't they represent American workers anymore! Most of them are typing my comments down & one said, "I wish I knew" when I asked her what had happened to the old Democratic Party!
This is too much fun!!!
I'm thinkin' the Dems are getting slammed, too!!! Couldn't even get an answering machine to pick up...Lautenberg wouldn't answer his phone, so I left a message.
Gee, I've never been a Democrat before, it's fun!!!
The American people are RISING AS ONE
I am signing off now to make calls!
Keep up the great work everyone!
This is our hour!
Americans fighting for our home, our lives and our country!
This is our culture, fight for it!
This is our flag, pick it up!
This is our country, Take it back!
Undecideds [Jim Geraghty]
I just got off the phone with Jim Webb's office: He's undecided.
Another "don't know" to add: Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., does not know how he will vote yet, wants to see how the amendments shape up. According to his staff, he has been managing the energy bill and has not been able to follow the most recent developments; he still has "considerable problems" with the guest worker program.
More GOP Undecideds on Cloture For Immigration Bill [Jim Geraghty]
Staffers for Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said that they voted "no" on cloture last time, but cannot say with certainty how they will vote that way this time until they see what emerges.
Staffers for Norm Coleman, R-Minn., said that he has concerns that the bill is incomplete, particularly if it does not include his "sanctuary city" amendment, but until that issue is resolved, he cannot say with certainty how he will vote on cloture.
Staffers for Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., offer similar statement, that at this moment, the senator remains undecided on cloture.
