Thread: WORKING FOR THAT WELFARE CHECK

Why can't we sign up most of the people on welfare and get them to pick our fruit. They are apparently people in need of a JOB. If they want their check they can do some work. Make it part time work so they won't have work shock. I think nothing should be freeeeeeeeeeeee to anybody. I use to think I was a liberal, but i think that is what is wrong with American today.

I AGREE. AND I BET MANY OF THEM WOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE SOME WORK. ONE THING WE CAN DO IS HAVE SOMEWHERE FOR THEM TO LEAVE THEIR KIDS WHEN THEY ARE WORKING. SOMETIMES MOTHERS STAY ON WELFARE BECAUSE THEY CANT AFFORD CHILDCARE. I HAVE HEARD THAT THEY DO THIS FOR THE ILLEGALS AND SO IT CAN BE DONE FOR CITIZENS.

I've seen enough of both "liberalism" and "conservatism" to know that both of these "isms" have plenty of problems. More and more Americans are moving to the center. Or at least we are becoming more vocal.

I think it would be great to put welfare recipients to work!

The problem with this, however, is that the majority of people on welfare have children (unless you're diabled, it's difficult to qualify for welfare if you don't have children). So who would provide the childcare while the adult welfare recipients are working?

Hmmm....having driven a school bus among my many diverse jobs,
school is used by a large segment of the population as daycare with
a free taxi ride every day.

I did daycare for a while and the government paid me well to take care of kids of poor parents. It would probably cost us more to take care of the kids than mom(or dad) would make at work.
