The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads in part:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside."

Babies born to illegal alien mothers within U.S. borders are called anchor babies because under the 1965 immigration Act, they act as an anchor that pulls the illegal alien mother and eventually a host of other relatives into permanent U.S. residency. (Jackpot babies is another term).

Ask any healthcare worker in any major hospital emergency room - they come here ready to deliver on the hospital steps so their baby can be automatically born as a US citizen and NOW we have to hear about "tearing families apart" if the moms, dads, cousins, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, and grandparents are deported.

Our Congress needs to revise this 14th Amendment - The FIRST STEP in securing our borders. And while they are at it, they should make it retroactive for quite a few years.

They will never get a handle on this (if they even wanted to, which they don't) until this first crucial step is taken.

As an aside, it was reported on C-SPAN this morning that 84 hospitals in the Los Angeles area alone have had to shut their doors. WHY? Because illegal aliens can't pay the bills and the hospitals are obligated to treat anyway!
