Thread: Piers Morgan: ‘Is Trump So Wrong?’

Piers Morgan may be the world’s punching bag, but it appears he’s becoming a Donald Trump aficionado.

With a Daily Mail column and a host slot on a UK morning program, Morgan has a perch to voice his views after CNN fired him in 2014. As luck would have it, on the morning after a terrorist attack in Belgium, Trump was his guest on Good Morning Britain.

In the U.S., Trump has been pummeled for his plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the country. He’s been labeled a a bigot, incredibly dangerous, a liar and worse. But in his column, Morgan wonders if the GOP presidential frontrunner is really such a monster for coming up with an idea that appalls most pundits and pols.

“I’m sick of this, aren’t you?” Morgan asked.

He said President Obama has no “tangible plan” to wipe out ISIS. But someone else does. Namely Trump, who wants the temporary ban and the right to waterboard suspects with insight on future attacks.

“By coincidence, I had an interview scheduled today with the world’s most controversial man, Donald Trump, for my UK show, Good Morning Britain.It was set up a couple of weeks ago, but the timing was eerily prescient.
Here is one man who definitely has a plan to deal with ISIS terrorism. Several plans in fact.
The problem is that people don’t like them. Well, a lot of people don’t anyway.”

Morgan admitted that he found himself agreeing with Trump on some of his plans to demolish ISIS. (Late-night comedian Samantha Bee also gets horrified when she finds herself agreeing with Trump. After one of the GOP debates in which Trump spoke favorably about Planned Parenthood, Bee nearly lost her mind: “OK, listen up creamsicle! We had a deal. You open your face hole, garbage spills out, I make jokes, I get to keep my comedy job. You’re not allowed to make sense!”)

“Is he so wrong?” Morgan asked five times in his column after reeling off various seemingly reasonable thoughts Trump has on solving terrorism that involves Islamic extremists.

“I didn’t feel I was talking to a lunatic, as many seem to view Trump. I saw a guy, a non-politician unfettered by PC language restraints, who is genuinely furious at the devastation which ISIS is wreaking, and seriously concerned for the security of his fellow Americans and indeed, the citizens of Europe.”

Morgan is really coming around to the idea of a Trump’s candidacy: “Hate Donald Trump all you like, but at least he seems to recognise the magnitude of the threat and at least he has firm proposals for how to try to defeat it.”

Trump is valid, Trump is solid, Trump is the smartest most effective candidate for President that the United States has had for decades. You'll love him, if you'll just listen to him. You can't judge him by what the media says or reports, they lie, they twist, they select and dissect everything he says and present a false inaccurate picture and image of him. It's hate work at its best, so don't fall for it because our country and citizens deserve better journalism than what we're getting so far, and as one of our most important allies, so does your country.
