Fear no part of good solution to immigration

Well, Northeastern Pennsylvania made it into the Iowa caucus, where on Jan. 3 we find out who the leaders are for their party’s nomination in the 2008 presidential election.

Or will we?

Some of the previous caucus selections have not prevailed by the time the conventions roll around. Right now, pollsters say that the leading Democrats – Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards – are neck and neck. Mike Huckabee is reported to have moved ahead of former front-runner Mitt Romney, but the race is still close on the Republican side.

It is so close that on Wednesday, the founder of an anti-illegal immigration group based in Hazleton said he was going to Iowa to tell residents there about Huckabee’s pro-amnesty position. Dan Smeriglio founded and is now president of the organization called Voice of the People USA.

Smeriglio went so far as to call Huckabee a “fraud.â€
