The ICE seems to miss lots of construction sites as they cruise the avenues and boulvards in our area, looking for workers who aren't authorized to work. Of course that could be because they spend most of their time in their offices, cruising AOL. Or maybe it just hasn't hit them that constructions site are a good place to look.

I've discovered it's easy to stop wherever homes are being built, ask for the man in charge, and inquire whether the ICE was there earlier that day.

Of course, he wonders if I've inside information, if there will be a visit tomorrow, and so on. I don't help him wonder. I just act puzzled, mumble something about you never know what those guys are doing, and go away.

So far I've not accidentally visited a place that had been visited by the ICE. Wonder why.

Great fun.
